Mythos?

I have never been but keep reading to try this when I go there on my upcoming trip. Could someone tell me a) where it is, and b) why is it so great?

it's in the lost continent of IOA. if you go via suess landing it's right on your left across from Poseidon's Fury. theme park insider has named it the best theme park restaurant in the world for 3 years now.

The inside of Mythos is pretty spectacular. Great theming, but not what you expect at a theme park. Their food is WONDERFUL!!!! The just know how to put things together to make a fantastic meal.

The inside of Mythos is really something else. I thought the food was mediocre, at best. We could have eaten there more than once, but decided not to after our first experience. I liked the food in The Oak Restaurant, across from Dueling Dragons better. Its theming was also well done. It really feels like you're inside an oak tree.

I thought I was going to be a lone voice but it appears not. I was extremely disappointed in Mythos, sorry, but I was. The theming is great, but we had a poor table, an indifferent server and I thought the food we had was just ordinary(salmon). Granted we both had the same item, so can't really comment on the rest, and it may be worth trying again. I had been looking forward to a special dessert after reading reviews, but all they had were 'shots', tiny amounts of what could have been an amazing dessert.
I had been looking forward to eating here for a year and honestly I am not as fussy as I may sound, but it didn't do anything for me or my husband.

My experience at Mythos has been excellent - very high quality food, excellent service, and great atmosphere.

I particularly liked the lobster-corn bisque. Outstanding!

It's the athmosphere.
You get free bread to start, and there's a huge window over looking the lagoon and Hulk. They play music from the band Mythos. This is new age instrumental you would hear in a movie theater. So when you're sitting there looking out the window, it seems like you're watching a movie. Yet you're eating great food, and the deserts are something to save room for.

Lately, other restaurants have stepped up. You can probably find food that's just as good elsewhere, but when you add everything up, Mythos is still at the top when it comes to park restaurants. When you walk in and get on the waiting list, tell them you want to sit in front of the big window. Here's my page with pictures.
