What is "Kid's Check In" at Cypress Point?

I did a "Cypress" search and somone mentioned a "Kid's Check-In"...what's that all about?

We checked in two weeks ago and there was nothing special for the kids that we saw. Maybe you have to ask for it. There is a parrot in the lobby that keeps the kids entertained.

On the three official check in days - Friday, Saturday and Sunday each week, there is a Kids Check In area in the lobby. It is the activities staff welcoming the kids with the weeks activites list, a welcome package and balloon animals while the parents check in. There are also cookies and bottled water for everyone as well as "Charlie" the resort mascot to visit. Just something to help get your stay off on a good foot by getting the kids out of the car for a few minutes during check in.
