Just to stop the threadjacking I decided we should have our very own thread to hash out this latest trip :thumbsup2

First off a good time was had by all.
We had a great site and the weather was very nice.
The CM at the campfire are THE BEST. You wont find a nicer bunch of people and they all personify the "Disney magic"
Cliff makes a great pizza at the chuckwagon, his quality standards are tough
Bingo is not my game, Patti however loves it.
I think she didnt want us to win, she didnt want to show favortism.
Golf carts are cool.
3 teenage boys in one camper is too many.
Bud light DOES taste better at FW
My credit card hurts
1100 + miles is a long way to drive
Diesel fuel is way overpriced
My truck was the shiniest at FW
The ice cream at the meadows has crack in it, We are hooked :rotfl:
dirty laundry grows during the ride home.
good thing we brought lots of quarters
We cant wait to go back

Love it!! Best trip report ever. :teeth: Especially empathize with the teenage boys, dirty laundry and credit card issues. Still, Disney is soooooo worth it.

The truck was clean when we left MI on 03/24/06 we ran into snow flurries just into KY and saw snow on the ground till we got almost to Knoxville so it got pretty nasty on the way down. There is a nice quarter car wash right next to the Camping world store on 192. I went over there SUnday morning and my wife and I had it cleaned up and armor all'ed in about an hour (more quarters) I ended up waxing it later on that day. We were just kicking back that day so I was allowed a little time with the truck. The trailer however was another story though. I usually clean it up when we get bad weather on the way down, but I was so tired on Saturday I just setup and said oh well.
Its nice and clean at home though. 2200+ miles tends to get them a little grungy. I had a couple of minor trim issues to repair (teenagers) when I got home.
I have less than 8 yrs to go till I can retire and we will both still be pretty young, Mrs Disneydaddy says she has had enough of the cruel weather up here. Not sure where we will go but I guarantee it will be South. :thumbsup2

Flying J travel centers are the only way to go for RVers
portable DVD players have revolutionized travel in our household
we already started another "Disney trip change jar"
I took more tools than I would ever need (one of these trips my genius will show)
Its nice when the teenagers understand WDW transportation and use it.
A bad day at FW is better than a good day anywhere else.
The benches at the campfire movie get harder every year.
WDW would be less crowded without all those "tourists"
Bud light still tastes pretty good in MI. :teeth:

I have never, ever, hijacked a thread (on purpose :rolleyes1 :teeth: ). I am glad to hear that all was well, even whining about the teenageers. What in the world would you do with 5 of them ages 11 and under, running around in your camper for 8 weeks? Luckily, I have the washer/dryer in camper, so laundry does not grow on the way home, but I do it every stinking day. Why can't it be o.k. for them to just run around naked? Why must I go through 10 outfits a day. You know girls have to wear at least 2 outfits per day, add that to my outfit and my poor son's bathing suit and laundry to the hilt! When you hit the retirement age, tell Patti that Charleston has a very nice ring to it. We will always be happy to show your family "Southern hospitality", just make sure you move here during the winter as the summers are spent at Disney.

We will be staying in the cabins starting Sat night and my parents are staying in their motorhome. I tried to get cousin Skeeter to tow my camper down there and come back to get it, but he would lose 4 days of working on the addition, so cabin it will be. The addition framing should be completed by the time we get back next Saturday, but I won't have a kitchen! I, hopefully, will have a new kitchen by the beginning of Aug, when we return from our summer vacation. Oh, I have to add for the benefit of my parents (because I know my Dad lurks, but never posts) THANK YOU! They are taking the youngest with them the first week of June to Carowinds and upstate, so for the first 10 nights I will be by myself! :woohoo: I have never had 10 nights to myself anywhere, much less Ft. Wilderness!! :cheer2:

Sounds like you had another wonderful stay at the Fort. I have to say after traveling from NY to FW for 10 years living 30 min away is like heaven. Never feel tired after our road trips and the ride home is not so depressing. If laundry gets crazy I take a ride to my real home and throw in a load. There is a lot to be said to living in the south!
