Thanks for hosting a chat for us. :) It was fun. :) And I hope we recruited another one...I think we've got FairyGF very interested and a wee bit excited about DIS-Con. ;) We have a way of doing that! :D

Thanks again.........Can't wait for the next one. :)

A big HOORAY for Linda and Marsha!

It was great to learn more about DisCon and to be able to talk to our fellow commandos!

Let's see:

250 registered guests for DIScon
$39 to add an extra day to the convention park pass
Lots of discussion of weather and wearing pants (except for Barry)
A thread about DIScon merchandise and "shrinkage"
Discussion of which characters will be at the breakfast
Linda promising to drop by every Wednesday night from now until DIScon unless she has a PTA meeting or next week when she has a trip to Cape Cod
Linda presented the menu for the Fantasmic Dessert party

Did I miss anything?

Wow TC!!! I am IMPRESSED with your memory. :)

I was just sitting here, thinking to myself, no nothing new to tell amid.

I think you covered it all TC. :D :D :D

I missed the menu bit, but I think I remember her saying something about Creme Brulee..... :)

I don't think that Linda ever said Creme Brulee. Just everyone else. Of course, I could be wrong. I remember her saying that the dessert buffet is "all you can eat" and that we should eat a lot. Not a problem for me.

Hello again! That was a great chat last night and this lady is very excited about DIS-Con! And, even though I have never been to a DIS meet, or met anyone off the internet, ever, and there are 250 DIS-Con'eers...it's going to be a blast! Oh that dessert talk....dreams of creme brulee, chocolate treats, cakes...yum:)

Thanks to Linda and Mackey(and everyone else) for the information and "pep" chat! Adventurer's club sounds like a must see as does the costume party at the Fantasyland meet :D

 Hi FairyGF.

I'm glad you came over here. :) Pull up a chair and stay for awhile. :)

And Livia, please pardon my ignorance here.....but what IS Creme Brulee??????

As I said in chat last night, all I know is that in the movie, My Best Friend's Wedding, Julia Roberts is NOT creme brulee! :D

I'll answer for Livia, and she can correct me if I'm wrong:

Creme Brulee is a dessert, the consistency of a kinda custard, that is usually flavored with butterscotch, vanilla, key lime, etc. A sugar coating is put on top of the custard, which is then flambeed, and forms a sugar crust at the top.

Think of chocolate-coated sugar bombs, and you've got the idea. Buzzzzzzzzz! :D

Tia, let me see if i can really describe it.

Creme brulee means "burned cream". It is a cream made with eggs, very smooth, usually with some vanilla (the real stuff, mind you, not the essence). Before serving, this cream is burned with -- how do you call it? -- a blow torch. The upper crust gets like a hard caramel, warm, contrasting nicely with the cooler creamy underneath. This crust is sg like thin ice over a lake. Boardwalk Bakery has a wonderful creme brulee. The only problem is that it is not done when you order it. The vanilla is the classic one, but sometimes you find it embellished with oranges, pistacchio, coffee. yummy!

Thanks Livia. :) Sounds a little too 'elegant' for me. I'm a 'Jello' person myself. ;) Well, I don't really care for Jello, per se, but I'm not a 'creme brulee' type of person. Am I just sinking myself here? ;)

Okay, bottom line.....I'm not a big sweets fan nor am I big dessert fan. There I said it ! :)

Tia, Tell me it is not so! Not a desert person! {Pumbaa_ is shocked and dismayed}

Pumbaa, don't be sorry for Tia!!!!

There will be more dessert left for us:D ;) :D ;) :D

Okay, well if you thought that was a shocker......get this.......in general, I don't care for chocolate! :earseek: Yes, it's true. I prefer jelly beans or candy-candy.....I only like chocolate for a few days per month.....if ya know what I mean. ;) And I only eat it because I actually 'crave' it. Weird hunh?

Guess what?!?! I don't like CHEESE either. Icky! Yes, I still like pizza, and nachos.....but that's about it! NO COLD CHEESES WHATSOEVER! Bluck! Nasty!

Not a big dairy product fan either............Yikes, now I'm on a roll................LOL! :D

Poor Tia, just don't understand it.

You are Livia, (insert evil chuckle here) more for us!

And we won't even begin to get into the cheese thing. Don't even start to tell us about dairy, I hope you are not referring to (reverent voice) ice cream?!?!?!

Don't feel too bad, Tia. I don't like chocolate or cheese either. Unless the cheese is melted on something....then it's still marginal.

Can't stand tomatoes, but love ketchup. But you can't keep me away from ice cream. ;)

Tia, you have to try the creme brulee....it is to die for. The first time I had it ws at Calif. Grill and now I have it everytime I see it on the menu. That and tiramisu...I had that at Big River Grille on the Boardwalk.

Don't get me started!!! LOL

I am with Tia that I am not really a dessert person, sweets just aren't my thing. BUT, I love plain cream Brulee because it isn't all that sweet....tastes more like a rich egg custard:)

I LOVE creme brulee...and I'm also a chocoholic! :D MILK is my drink of choice....ditto all varieties of cheese - except the moldy kind! I love tomatoes but not ketchup - cuz it's sweet.

Creme Brulee -YUM YUM YUM!..... I seem to remember it being mentioned in chat - I believe that y'all were sending it to Linda and Marsha's rooms during the convention everynight - don't you remember that being said Marsha?... :D

I will not be in chat next week as I have to attend my Brothers wedding and fly into Boston  The airlines cancelled my Thr morning flights so you can blame them for that! Pray for me, I'm not real happy about having to fly. I'll be out back on Monday afternoon.

Linda, if I could swing it, I would. :D I think it's the very least we could do for you and Marsha. :) :::thinking on how to do send Creme Brulee to Linda and Marsha's rooms:::

I do like ice-cream.....but I'd rather have a popsicle.

~*~prayers and pixie dust~*~ for Linda's flight next week.

Oh never mind, I just thought of something. :earseek:

So, are we going to have DISCON chat every Wednesday, or is this just an occasional thing?
