Last trip to FW we call bike barn to get a golf cart for the next day (Thursday) they told us that they’re all booked up but we could go on a wait list. So next day called about 3 still booked, told me I was # 1 on the list called 4 no carts. We where look for a cart for one night not for days. So at 5pm walk to bike barn to see if they had any cart. They had about 50 carts sitting around the bike barn. So I ask if I could get a cart they told my still all sold out. I walked back around 8pm bike barn was closed, but there was still about 40 carts sitting around. Why do they tell people there sold out when they have lots of carts? :confused3

All the carts sitting around are waiting for people with reservations to pick them up. And the carts you saw sitting around at 8pm were already rented by people who were at the campfire show, people mistake them for available carts all the time. They are completely sold out right now, they wouldn't just tell people that if they had 50 carts available. And it doesn't matter if you want it for one day or ten days, they are sold out every day and can't just give someone a cart just for one day, they'd be giving away a cart that someone else had called in advance and reserved.

Let me add if at 5pm they have 50 cart sitting for people with reservations let some go. They closed at 5pm so if they have a run on carts at 5 I don't think you will get your reservations or not. But at 2am as we went back to our site all cart still sitting at bilke barn. So where they sold out or not?

They can't just "let some go". The carts are reserved, and people can show up and do an after hours pickup, or even pick the cart up in the morning. I know people that work there. They deal with enough grumpy guests as it is, they aren't going to lie about being sold out just to make more of them mad. People have called in advance and reserved those carts and left down a credit card number. They even show up the next morning and pick it up at 8 if they got in too late at night. And after a few hours the next day, the ones that have not shown up are charged for it, and those carts become available and go to people on the wait list. I'm sure you wouldn't like it if you'd gotten caught in traffic and didn't arrive til about 7 only to find out that they gave your cart away at 5.

Well pickup is 1-5 if you can't make you lose out. Let other enjoy the cart overnight. If around 40 people didn't get their cart maybe look at the way you make reservations. Becouse there is a lot of money made for no shows.

One sure way to get a cart - reserve it well in advance.

I know we where staying 700 loop and didn't need a cart, but thought it would be funny to lookup Disboard people and with a cart could cover more ground. So next trip later April I will make reservations for a cart. Just thought it was funny to see all those carts sitting around.

Whatever rules guide the reservation process are implemented by managers, not the folks that work at the bike barn. I cant imagine someone being told that the carts were all gone when there were, in fact any available.
Apparently the word "NO" means different things to different people. The current interpretation seems to be "keep whining and crying till you get what you want"

Sorry if I came across as whining and crying, but I wasn't just looking for an answer to something I witness. I figured that maybe someone on this board could answer my?

Yep, I've done after hours pick-up. Just tell the front desk when you check-in and they'll call over to the barn. When you get there just knock and they'll invite you inside to visit and check out your cart. It wasn't really late, though. Before 7, as I recall.

I have arranged for a late pickup and I have arranged for an early morning pickup. The best rule of thumb is to always make a ressie. Even if you call just before going down.
If the carts are out front, they are waiting to be picked up. In the back they may be waiting for service or somebody could have just parked there.

Also, even though carts may be sitting there and available for 1 or 2 days, they are not available for your entire stay. Once you rent one out, they have to "assume" you are keeping it until you check out. So if someone reserved one for two days from now, if you ask to rent one and your stay is 4 days more, they can't rent it to you because folks have already reserved it 2 days from now.
You may actually have better luck for a 1-day rental on your next to last day as they know you are leaving the next day and your cart will be returned.
Does this make sense??
