Well, the family and I are all booked for the HGVC next February, president's week. I purchased a timeshare week off of eBay. The place looks great. We visited the Vistana Resorts this past February so it will be interesting to compare the two. I was wondering if anyone has stayed there and has any advise on things to look for or ask for as far as location, room type, ect. We have a two bedroom unit. Thanks

We took the time share tour there in January. I am postive that you will be pleased with the accom. and the location, although somewhat far from WDW. It is right across the street from Seaworld! The pool area was very nice, the landscaping was pretty and I think the rooms will have nice views! Did you by chance, tour Vistana Villages? We are trading into there on Nov. 2 and I'd love a report!

No, I did not see the Vistana villages but there are many positive reviews on them found on the board. I was actually planning on going to the Vistana Villages next year (as a renter) but they were a little pricey at $159.95 per night through Hotelkingdom.com. The nice thing about the villages is that they are all new. The Vistana resort has some areas that are 20 years old and i was afraid of getting put into one of them although we were at the newest area, the cascades, this year and it was beautiful. Then the week at HGVC showed up and it looked very nice and priced at $95 a night so that's where we're headed. Have you ever asked for extra nights at the places you have stayed? If so, how has that worked?

From Sept to mid Oct is was $69 a nite for a 1 bedroom w/ a jacuzzi in the bedroom.. Look at the hilton websites for specials as they are more likely to have it

Do you mind if I ask you what dates you are going and how much you paid? We are also going that week and I'm looking into a timeshare. We are Worldmark owners and am looking into a 45 day out trade through RCI but, would like to have something on back up in case RCI has nothing available. I was also looking into the Vistana Villages but thought it was a little steep for a week.
Thanks,
Jenn
PS Do you know how far HGVC is from Universal?

Hilton.com offers 1 bed room with jacuzzi and breakfast for $119 a nite. If you optionally take a timeshare they will also give your 10,000 pt

If you rather a studio and be committed take a time share its 3 nites, 4 days for $199
Or $349 with 1 bedroom(which has jacuzzi). This has 10,000 pt.

Your better off going for $349 w/ Jacuzzi, then added the $119 for an addition 3 nites, taking the time share tour...

We paid $700 for the week for a 2 bedroom. The resort rents this unit at $250 a night so I think we did well. I believe HGVC is only 10 minutes from universal.
