I know I'm not alone here! After I heard about the Free Dining Promo, I was on the phone w/Disney immediately. I was one of the lucky ones able to book our trip last night (3/31). I then spent over an hour or so on TGM figuring would which parks which days, then planning my ADR's.
All of my ADR's are made for the Free Dining promo...I know, I am an obsessed overplanner, I admit it. Who else is with me? Show DH I am not a complete Disney Freak but a proactive and detailed planner :lmao: Who's with me..come on people..unite!

I have booked, paid off and made my ADRS....all within 20 minutes. I was a bit rushed, but had an idea of where we wanted to eat and on which days. I need to tweak it, but the important ones are done!!!!!

How I don't know, but there it is...The magic of Disney already at work for my honeymoon!!! YAY!!! I feel like I have to keep calling and checking b/c I just can't believe it's real... :rotfl2:

Mine were made already. With the free dining though my one relaxing night of "eat wherever" was quickly tweaked and I made a reservation! :thumbsup2
I made my ADR's last week, tweaked one yesterday, and then this morning found out about the free dining! I still had two or three nights open over our 11 day trip, but I guess now I'll have to figure out where for those ASAP!!

Does TGM have a handle on October yet? I know hours weren't posted on the Disney site. I think I'm going to peruse the historical hours and make a guess. I'm not going for any really coveted times this trip like Cali Grill at fireworks, so I don't expect much trouble getting what I want.

how far in advace can adr's be made ? it used to be 90 days. has it changed?

I FREAKED for a second on the phone when the CR told me I could (and needed to) go ahead and do my ADRs. Last time we went it was 90 days out, not this craziness!
I didn't have my books or anything. Totally flew by the seat of my pants.
Gosh, I hope dh doesn't mind what I got, I can tweak in the next few days I guess.
Mama Melrose Fantasmic
Cindy's for lunch
Japanese Steak House (my kids LOVED that last time)
Concourse
Chef Mickey Breakfast
Can't believe we are going back again with the dining. AWESOME!!!!!!

Great minds think alike... I booked last night and was on TGM planning out days. But I have to have you topped, I booked all the ADRs once and then changed my dates for the trip completely. Changed my package reservation and all my ADRs. Then I decided to add one more night to the package. Called to add one night and then called to make one more ADR. Then decided to change two of my days around, so I called back and changed 2 ADRs again. I was very careful to cancel all the unneeded ADRs.
So that 24 hours, 3 different phone calls to package reservations, and 4 different phone calls to Disney dining.
I'm completely crazy and I know it. Now I'm just not allowed to call Orlando again for at least a week...
(BTW, I have a small party of 2 but I was able to get within 10 minutes of every ADR I wanted. I'm not doing CRT or anything, but clearly they don't have an overwhelming amount of Sept reservations yet).

Heck we made our ADRs before we swapped our reservations to get the free dining. We wanted to be sure we could eat everywhere we wanted before changing the dates we were going.
So we are now staying for 10 nights (rather then 8) and adding two restaraunts to our original plans yay. We're now eating at:
August 14: Boma (first night dinner)
August 15: Spoodles
August 16: Jiko
August 17: Boma Breakfast and Flying Fish Dinner (day off from the parks)
August 18: counter service most likely
August 19: CRT dinner (out of pocket)
August 20: Coral Reef
August 21: Artist Point
August 22: Rainforest Cafe DTD (out of pocket, we are members of their club though so we get a discount) and Cirque De Soleil (probably another day off from the parks)
August 23: Le Cellier Steakhouse
August 24: Heading home in the evening so counter service during the day
We added Artist Point and Rainforest Cafe to our plans and also added Cirque De Soleil so I am really happy about the change to free dining.

Wasn't even planning at WDW trip this summer since we're already going to DL in June, but we couldn't pass up such a great opportunity before school starts back up in late August.
I got every single reservation for the exact time I wanted with one exception--5 minutes later at Liberty Tree. Here's the plan:
Monday, 8/14--Dinner at Liberty Tree
Tuesday, 8/15--Dinner at Le Cellier
Wednesday, 8/16--Lunch at 50's Prime Time Cafe
Thursday, 8/17--Spirit of Aloha 5:15 Show
Friday, 8/18--Dinner at 1900 Park Fare
Saturday, 8/19--Lunch at Alfredo's
Sunday, 8/20--Dinner at Crystal Palace

I am sooo excited about this! We did free dining last year, but never dreamed they would offer it again. I already had trip booked, 9/23 to 9/30 at CSR without dining plan, but had 4 ADR's made. As soon as my TA gets back to me I'll add 3 more. (I have Disney Visa so I can book today)
Hopefully I'll get the times/places I want.

I booked my trip and adrs at the same time. I made the call just a couple of hours ago.
Here are our ADRs
8/16/06 9:00am O'Hana with Lilo and Stitch
8/17/06 4:30pm Le Cellier
8/18/06 4:30 1900 Park Fare (my birthday :) )
8/19/06 12:00 noon WCC
The only one I'm not sure about is the WCC, we've heard it's fun but the menu looked ok but not great.
The CM wasn't concerned about getting ADRs today and I had my choice of any time at any of those places for the meals I chose except for 6 pm at Le Cellier :scratchin . Any other time was wide open even there. I wouldn't panic about ADR's quite yet but I guess the longer the deal is out the quicker it will get snapped up.
It's so weird there's nothing about this offer on the Disney Visa website nor on the WDW site as far as I can tell. Maybe it will be on the WDW site when it's open to the public??

We actually couldn't get Coral Reef the night we wanted, it seems there is some event there on the 18th between 6pm and 9pm. At least that is what the person doing the reservations for us said. Other then that most of ours were right around when we wanted them, I think we had a couple that changed times from what we wanted by 30 minutes or so.

I hate to admit this but......since we Canadians are not available to have Disne Visa cards(I wish we could though) I am eagerly waiting for April 4th to book.
However, I just made my ADR's a few minutes ago! How crazy is that! No package reservation booked yet but I have all my ADR'S.
I am so hopeless LOL, but who cares, I'm going to WDW and I'm saving over 1000$ !!!!

Now they're all FREE!! The only one I'll have to pay for OOP is House of Blues but that restaurant looks too cool to miss. I actually added 2 days to the dining plan (traded in a 2 day room only at the beginning of the trip). Still need one more now. Thinking hard on it! So far:
Concourse Steakhouse
House of Blues OOP
Coral Reef
Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic Pkg
Kona Cafe
Le Cellier
Whispering Canyon Cafe
50's Primetime
Alfredo's
Any suggestions? We're staying at WL.

Just a thoought, the posted price includes a park pass for everyday. PP probably didn't need park passes for whole trip, we didn't. We only needed 1 day (have AP's). Everyones dining ressies look GREAT! We were able to get everything we wanted except the late LTT dinner on MNSSHP night. The latest released so far is 4:40pm. Will be checking to get a 5:30 or so ressie. So EXCITED

I booked mine yesterday and got everything that I wanted for the times that I wanted EXCEPT Coral Reef. For some reason, two different CMs said that Coral reef comes up as book exactly at 180 days (vs. the 180+10).
We're doing:
Spirit of Aloha
California Grill
Narcoossee's
Le Cellier
Crystal Palace dinner
Breakfastasaurus
Sci Fi Dine In
Planet Hollywood - have to call at 180 days exactly for this one too.

We had already planned to go at the end of September and had pretty much figured out our ADR's...HOWEVER when we heard about free dining we changed the list!!! Of course without the luxury of having a Disney Visa (we are Canadian) :confused3 we have to wait until the 4th.
We made all our room reservations and all of our ADR's so all that is left is getting in first thing tomorrow and changing our ressie over to free dining!!!! :woohoo:
We had the same problem with Coral Reef...apparently they don't participate with the 180+10 rule, have to wait until 180 exactly.
Doing 50's prime time
whispering canyon
Chef mickeys 1 dinner and 2 brekkie
fantasmic dinner package H&V
crystal palace brekkie
LeCellier (for anniversary)
Coral Reef
Ohanas
Can't wait!!!!! :cool1:

I actually called @ 7am EST Sunday morning (4/2) since it was 180 days from until our arrival and scheduled all of our ADR's that I'd been planning for a month... THEN I logged onto the DISboards and found out about the free dining plan (I hadn't gotten an email or notification myself and I do have a Disney Visa) so I called Disney reservations and opted to forgo our AAA discount for the dining plan since it saves us more $$$ in the long run
We're doing:
Rose & Crown dinner first night
Chef Mickey's dinner night 2 for my DD's 4th bday :)
Hollywood & Vine fantasmic pkg night 3
Cape May character breakfast morning 4
Undecided on O'hana for night 4 since we'll have to pay for one TS meal if that's the case...
Cape May Cafe dinner buffet last night (5) (we're staying @ the Beach Club)
179 days to go!
Just hung up from making ours. We have never planned this early! We will be there 9-30-10-7.
We got:
Le Cellier
Ohana's
Coral Reef (had no problem with it being not exactly 180 days)
Yaughtsman Steak House
Hoop de do Review
Chef Mickey dinner for night of MNSSHP
Not sure about Yaughtman Steakhouse. We wanted to try places we've never been before. I had no problem getting the times we wanted; CM offered several times for everything.
We just got back last Thursday and it's hard to believe I already have our next trip booked!

My mom and I sort of agreed to a Yom Kippur trip and once the deal came out, I had a reservation and ADRs made. My DH was aware doing his Air Force reserve weekend, so when he came back I told him he was going and we had to try to comvince his mom to come, too. We're hoping for an us and the moms trip. It may end up being us, my mom, and one of my mom's friends.
9/28 - Le Cellier
9/29 - Chef Mickey's (before MNSSHP!)
9/30 - Boatwrights (gotta see Bob Jackson)
10/1 - Crystal Palace (our favorite character meal for adults - especially late seatings)
10/2 - 50s Prime Time
10/3 - Narcossee's
We plan to split meals either at 50s or Boatwrights so we can share 3 meals among 4 people at Narcossee's, but I wanted to end the trip at an awesome place and not give up a day of TS.

Guilty as charged. :goodvibes
As soon as I hung up after making my reservation, I looked up park hours and EMH.
We made the mistake of eating too late (7:30pm because we were trying to eat with fewer kids around, don't flame me...everyone is cranky after a day in the parks...big girls need peace and quiet, too) every night last year, and we didn't get to take advantage of the last hour or so of the parks being open at night.
This year, 5:30 and 6pm all the way (except California Grill on our anniversary...I booked 8pm for Wishes viewing)

A lot of things could cause different rates for different parties. Probably the biggest difference would be the park ticket cost. Some people do not need a park ticket for every day of their trip (have AP's or leftover days on previously paid for tickets). Some preferred rooms are more, insurance included or not and adding park hopper & water park options are also big $$ additions.
Like our package for 2A 2C for 8 days @ POP, 1 day standard MYW ticket, non-preferred room and no insurance was $960.00 including tax. We have annual park and annual water passes, so we didn't need any park tickets at all, but you have to buy at least 1 day per person in party in order to receive the free dining promo.
Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other ?'s

I booked the package on Sunday. We are going 8/17-8/20 at WL. I was totally at a loss about dining for this surprise trip for my dd. I went into OPM (obssessive planning mode) :teeth: on Sunday night, reading menus, looking up park hours and such. I called monday morning and got everything I wanted at the times I wanted - give or take 10 mins.

I'm guilty, too! LOL!
I actually booked Feb. 28 but got in on the free meal plan today. I called at 7 a.m. and added the meal plan to my second reservation. (Since the free meal plan starts on the 13th, and we get there on the 11th, I had to make two back-to-back ressies.) Once I got the meal plan set up, I got transferred to the ADR CM.
We got:
8/13 Ohana for breakfast
8/14 1900 Park Fare for supper
8/16 Akershus for lunch
8/17 Sci-Fi Dine-In for supper
8/18 Chef Mickey's for breakfast
We get to try all these places we've never been to for free! Between switching to the free meal plan, changing one of our passes, and a few other tweaks, we're saving $736.03!!! (Some things bumped us up a little, but we're still saving a LOT!)
