We're hoping someone would shed some light...

We recently decided to extend our Disney trip by 3 nights only to find out that all mods and values are sold out for those dates. We did, however, find good rates on the Sheraton Safari and the Residence Inn LBV. Is one hotel better than the other? Has anyone ever stayed in both, or at least one of these and is willing to give an opinion?

TIA for any help! :sunny:

We stayed at the Sheraton Safari last October. Our room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I actually looked into the cost of buying the beds on the Sheraton website when I got home! Kids eat free in the restaurant and we ate breakfast in the hotel every morning. It was a basic breakfast buffet, but fine for the money. My kids really enjoyed the python slide at the pool. The Sheraton Safari is very close to the Downtown Disney entrance and it was easy to get the parks.

We also stayed at the Sheraton Safari in Oct. We got a great rate ($59.) through travelzoo. The room was very nice, and the beds were great. Had we not already booked a 2 bdrm condo elsewhere, I would have been fine with this hotel for our entire stay. We also ate in the restaurant for breakfast, it was better than "basic", we thought it was terrific! I have something else booked for Dec, but if I can get another great deal like we had, I will definitely stay at SS again!

I have never stayed at the Residence Inn. However, I have to say the Sheraton Safari is probably my favorite offsite hotel in the immediate WDW area. I found the staff to be amazingly nice. Also, the rooms have been clean, and super cozy. The location can't be beat either.
