View Full Version : V's gettin' back to the Bad Girl bod! Gonna lose weight in 2008!

I had an old wish journal but since I "failed" and went off track I figured I would start a new one......
but first, let me introduce myself.
My name is Vanessa, Bad Girl extraordinaire, a 31 year old mother of two princesses (3 and 1) and wife to the only Charming!! My Bad Girl motto for this journal is “nothing tastes as good as thin feels” – I don’t know about you, but there is nothing better than slippin’ in to those skinny jeans and knowing you look good…I mean “get a whistle from across the street” good.
I am a "lifetimer" at WW, but that was prior to having children. Since having my second daughter I am struggling with my weight...I am not gaining, but I am not losing either. I’m at a stand still and feeling frumpy, mom-ly and just in general not the Bad Girl bod I want.
I have 22 pounds to lose to get to the weight WW thinks I should be.....personally I would like to be 10 pounds lighter than that...but I am shooting for the first goal of 22 for now.
I am going to try Atkins religiously for the next two weeks, officially starting tomorrow...now I know what you are thinking, yeah right tomorrow….but I only came to the seriousness of my situation after I started off this morning with a bag of pretzels – not a big bag – the ones out of a snack machine. It was somewhere around 35 grams of carbs…so WOW – that blows Atkins right out of the water…but for lunch I am eating a cheeseburger – no bun – and some broccoli…with water…for dinner I have chili in the crock pot, so the royal family can feast on that while I have a salad. My mouth is watering already.
My goal right now is to get through the induction phase, which is 2 weeks. I plan on not even having a lick of alcohol and sticking to water only. I have to stay within 20 grams of carbs per day. After the 2 week period I’ll gage where to venture next….I am hoping I will post a loss….a BIG one!
I can do this. I really can.
It all starts with me, only me. I am the only one who can change myself.
And I plan on rewarding myself along the way….I am trying to think if things right now. Maybe Disney $$ for every pound lost, new goods at certain check points…I’ll have to think on it and maybe even get Charming in on the deal. *note* discuss with Charming this evening…J
Today on my lunch hour I went to the Y and did 30 minutes on the bike and 100 crunches. I did that yesterday as well. In addition to the Atkins, for the next two weeks I am going to go to the Y every day for lunch, then I’ll taper off to three days a week. I can do it. (self encouragement) it’s only 2 weeks. 2 weeks is nothing. Nothing people. I’ll probably be in here a lot the next two weeks trying to keep motivated and on track. So ye have been warned!
We are heading to the World in May and I want to look better than a cow in stiletto’s. I want to look good, damn good. Hence the jumpstart on Atkins. I realize I won’t lose 22 pounds in the next 50 days, but who knows…gotta start somewhere.
7 weeks from today, that’s what I have. I can do it. I can be lighter. I can be a loser. I can and I will be lighter by the time we leave in May.
Tonight may be a struggle – the first night. My princess starts swim lessons so at least we will be out of the house until 6:30 or so. She’s a lucky gal – tall and thin and some days I would bet she has a tapeworm.
And good ole American Idol is on. I will do crunches while watching and squats through the commercials. That’s the ticket. I will get my skinny, non-mom jeans out of the closet where they are collecting dust and hang them on the fridge. I will get in to them, eventually. I will get back to a Bad Girl bod – just you wait and see.
Bad Girl affirmation for today: Good Golly, I’m a Hot Tamale! (taken from the officially Bad Girl calendar)
I’ll depart with, nothing tastes as good as thin feels.

Hi Vanessa & welcome (or welcome back, but I didn't know you then ;) ) to WISH journals.
I've read your trip report & have really enjoyed it, and I look forward to keeping up with your journal as well.
You sound like you know what to do and what you want to accomplish, so you are SO on your way to having that bad girl body you want. :thumbsup2
Good luck, and keep on posting!!

Thanks for the welcome....
I did well tonight....we took DD to swim lessons, came home - Charming and the princesses had chili and I had a light salad.
Funny thing is, I am not hungry, I am thinking about food - but only because I know I am dieting. Nice how your mind works isn't it?
Aside from the pretzels this morning I did excellent on the carbs, so I am ready to hit tomorrow head on! I can do it! Two weeks to go!
I want swimsuit shopping to be an enjoyable experience!

Day 1 of induction: 8:10am
I finished off yesterday well. I only had my salad and that was it. :) Go on with your Bad Girl self!
Breakfast: This morning I am going to have a few slices of cheese and 2 hearts of palm. Sounds scrumptious doesn't it? You're just dying for me to share.
Lunch: I didn't bring my lunch so I guess I'll either have a bunless burger (that is just so wrong on so many levels) or a salad again.
Dinner: Well, I will be tied up until 8:30 tonight so I am going to probably hold myself over with more cheese and hearts of palm. I have a roast in the crockpot for the Royal Family...I can eat the meat with a salad when I get home. I hate eating that late though.
Lunch time - I am going to hit the gym again. So I'll be back to post my results later!
:) and remember:
~nothing tastes as good as thin feels!!

You're doing great!! :thumbsup2
What is palm???
lillygator
03-29-2006, 12:59 PM
Hearts of Palm - they are the tender buds of certain palm trees...I love them, they can be found on the canned veggie aisle at the grocery store!
Ok - I did 30 min on the bike, no crunches - I'll do those tonight watching Idol.
Lunch was a chicken breast and broccoli. Yummy....oh yea - and water, can't forget about the water. :) Still drinking it.
I have started weighing myself daily at the gym. I was down a poud from yesterday but I am sure that's water weight. Also my TOM should be here any day so I am more bloated than usual!!
On to conquer the afternoon of day one!

Great job getting to the gym during lunchtime! I take a walk since I only get a 1/2 hour break...
Good luck on Atkins, I hope it works for you. I could never do it, I am too much of a carb junkie... :confused3
These 2 weeks are gonna fly by and you will be in your desired swimsuit shape soon! :wizard:

Ok 4:30 pm on day one...not hungry but I had a few small slices of cheddar cheese about 40 minutes ago. I am attending a class tonight which will probably end around 8-8:30pm...I won't be eating until I get home around 9....and it will be a small salad and maybe some of the roast I have in the crockpot.
I always do well with water....we have Water Boy here at work and I drink that all day long...:)
Only a few more hours to go!

You are really doing great!
I think I would LOVE Atkins b/c of the cheese. That is my favorite food!
Take care, and keep on keepin on! :thumbsup2

I made it through the first day of induction!!! My class was cancelled last night so I made it home early and I had forgotten to turn the crockpot on!! But we had chili from the night before so the Royal family had chili dogs and I cooked a small filet and water and that was all I had. I was not hungry but I ate most of it.
After AI I was craving something sweet so I had a sugar free jello and it certainly hit the spot.
On to day 2!!
Breakfast - I am having a large water and about 3-4oz of cheese....I plan on grabbing a Greek salad for lunch and not too sure about dinner yet. As long as I stay within my 20 grams of carbs I'll be fine and on my lunch break I will be heading to the gym! :)
I can do it!!
Day 2 here I come!
lillygator
03-30-2006, 12:30 PM
Yippee!! I went to the gym on my lunch and did 30 minutes on the bike and 100 crunches.
For lunch I am eating at my desk a greek salad with Ceasar dressing. :) Atkins friendly. I have been weighing myself daily at the gym and I was down 3 pounds today, so I am thinking that is water weight. Next Wednesday will be my official report of the firt weigh in on week one of induction.
This weekend is going to be hard. My Gators play in the final four...and basketball and no beer just don't mix....so I will just have to remember to stay strong and make some naked hot wings to make up for it!
I am sure Charming will drink my share! :)
Here's wishing it was Friday!

Don't they have some low carb beer? Maybe you could have a couple of those instead of regular...
Great job on the 3lb loss! :cheer2: What is your plan after this 2 weeks? Most people who do Atkins gain the weight back after they go off. I'm just wondering what the transition to "regular" eating is like?
lillygator
03-30-2006, 03:18 PM
I plan to guage where I am at that point...ie seeing if Atkins is working or not. If I have a good loss I will keep going and at some point I plan to go back to eating WW style. I don't know much about the transitional phases...

03-31-2006, 10:03 AM
I made it through day 2!! I had bunless hamburgers and some grilled mushrooms for dinner and a sugar free jello for dessert....:)
Day 3:
Breakfast: omlette with bacon, ham and cheese...yummy! and water....:) I have had nothing but water to drink for the past two days (and today)!! so proud of myself!
We have a retirement party for a coworker today so I will snack off the cheese platter and probably a sandwich but meat only. :) Of course, after I hit the gym!!
Not sure about dinner, maybe a salad....now tomorrow, easy access to the fridge all day...I have to use CONTROL!

I went to the gym and just got back...did my same boring 30 min on the bike and 100 crunches. Next week I plan to do 20 min cardio and add in some weights...and also the crunches....:)
I feel ok, pretty good actually.
I just have to remember my goals and keep it up...temptation is always hard!

well..lunch was a bit different than I planned...there was no cheese. So I had the meat from a cuban, two slices of chicken and took the breading off and some celery.
I am a bit down this afternoon. Lots have to do with not wanting to work but also some posts - I think I am going to stay in the safe areas of WDW planning only. It seems everytime I post on the CB that I am called a name simply because I am doing something different. Oh well...I'll get over it.

Hi Vanessa...I know what you mean about the CB. There are times I love it, and others I just want to stay away.
I pretty much stick to the WISH journals, Trip Reports and the WDW planning boards. I check in to see what's being posted on the CB, but rarely post anymore.
Don't let anyone get you down....LOOK AT YOU!! You're one tough cookie! :thumbsup2 You're doing awesome & you're in control!!

Thanks for the kind words!
I did pretty well today...no exercise, but I stayed OP and no wine or beer during the game! I weighed myself at Publix and it's usually 2-3lbs higher than the scale at the Y and it said the same as what I weighed Friday at the Y!! ~153!!! so 18lbs to go to my 135 WW goal...for now!
We had ribs and naked wings for dinner....and I snacked on cheese and water and celery today, thrilling I know! Tomorrow, I am hoping to make everyone omlettes and pancakes for breakfast (just omlettes for me) and we'll go from there.
Next week at the gym I think I am going to do the treadmill and run during the commercials...I haven't jogged in a while and this would help me guage where I am. And I watch the View while I am there and boy some of those commercials are pretty darn long!
Tomorrow night will be a toughie too....Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy, I usually pamper myself after the girls have gone to bed....nice hot bath, glass of wine, do my toes, watch my two shows....I will just be giving up my wine - no biggie! I'll put my water in a wine glass and pretend......
That's it for tonight...hope to get out for a walk tomorrow...it's gorgeous out!

I made it through the weekend!! I had to salivate over some Disney Dining menu's...let's see I am trying to get skinny so I can gorge at the World nice....:)
I brought a salad for lunch and cheese and sugar free jello for snacks! Tonight's the big game!! and I can't wait! Not sure about dinner, I have a roast and some chicken thawing.....:) I can't wait to go work out and weigh in, I know it hasn't been a week yet , but I want to see if the weekend helped. I still have had nothing but water...I bought some light lemonade but is has aspertame which Atkins prefers Splenda as sweeter, so I'll hold off on that.

Oh my!!
I am so glad I have to walk out to my car on lunch to get my gymbag....I had an almost flat time. So, I went to the gym - and get this...did my 30 min on bike only...but I did that for two reasons....not excuses...one, I needed to get my car down to Firestone and two I wanted to read more of my hit trashy Bad Girl romance novel......ok, no really, the Da Vinci Code. I figure I better read it before the movie hits!
So I do my ritual...change, restroom, weigh in and OMH - 151!!! I am down 6lbs. I am sure most of it was/is due to TOM, but I am going to keep doing what I am doing since it seems to be working. So 16 pounds to get back to ww lifetime goal! Why is it that 16 sounds somuch better than 20 yet it's only 4 lbs difference?
Yipppee!! I am so excited about my weight I take my car in and sign my life away....they are going to patch the tire (if that's what it is fingers crossed), oil change and new wiper blades. Mine are in desperate need of repair. And I added a 5 min walk in there too - in my 3 inch Bad Girl heels!! (Firestone is up the street, so I dropped the car off and walked back to work).....
The Sarasota Film Festival is going on dowstairs...there are some celebs here....big crowds but I am not sure who and I couldn't see over/through everyone. I do know this weekend they are hosting an outdoor showing of Madagascar which I think we will go to...right on the bayfront, should be awesome!
On to lunch - did my workout and now I am eating my salad, lettuce, cukes and sprinkle cheese (shredded cheese) with oil and vinegar, and some sliced meat...yummmmm....(not really - I really want a big fat juicy, rolls down your forearm hambuger with some nice crispy fries.....

Yesterday was so hectic! It's month end close at work and I am swamped - I didn't make it to the gym and I was pretty disappointed. By the time I looked up (after meetings and everything else) it was 2pm!
So today I have my remnders on to tell me to get out of here and work out! I've stayed on track eating wise though and am anxious to see what the "official" week one results are!

hmmm....Saturday.....I've only had hearts of palm and that's it. I know I should eat something more, but I need to go grocery shopping and I am not really hungry. Not sure what to cook for dinner. Maybe steak and broccoli and salad. When Haley gets up from nap we'll hit Publix and then go for a nice walk....:) gotta get some exercise this weekend!

Made it through to today...no weight change so 6 pound loss for two weeks of Atkins I'll take but I am going to switch over to WW for the 16 pounds remaining. I think I was hoping for a quick fix!
I went to the gym today and did 20 min on the bike and 100 crunches. We are planning on walking the beach tonight so I'll get a little more in. Haven't yet eaten today - just water, but starting tomorrow I am going to have Special K for breakfast - this always helped fill me up and get my metabolism going in the am!
34 days until Disney - my goal is to lose another 5 pounds in that time and work out as much as possible! :)

Hi all and thanks for dropping by.....last night was good...I stayed within my 20 points so I am happy about that...now today I am craving junk - I think it's mental! I haven't eaten all day but I think I may go and get Subway - that's not terribly high in points so I'd be ok with it. And then not sure about dinner...DD has swim lessons so maybe something easy and a nice long walk after dinner! :)

Well, I am back - back to journaling, weight watching and living a healthier lifestyle. I went back to WW today and wow have they changed. No more cards to get - I have to admit I kind of liked going to the "lifetime" box, kind of like being the cool kid ya know? My commitments for this week (now until next Thursday) are to journal everyday and stay within my points. Walk at least 30 minutes daily. Limit alcohol and sugar intake. Stay focused and positive. I can do it.
Want to know my real motivator? Well, it's like this. My sister called yesterday and she and my mother are joining WW today and not that my sister really needs to lose anything but I want to be sure and "beat" them if you know what I mean. When I joined originally it was with two friends and I became lifetime and neither of them did but I did so well because it was a competition for me. I probably shouldn't look at it that way but it really really helped me. I have 25 pounds to go. I will get this off and keep it off for sure. Those darn pregnancies....ah, but they (my girls) are so worth 25 pounds....a million times over.
Also we are going to Sanibel at the end of July, I would like to be a little lighter so I don't scare people into therapy. 25 pounds can be a very traumatic thing. So my WW journal starts today 5/25/06 and ends on 8/16/06 - 12 weeks. I would definitely like to be 25 pounds lighter at the end of 12 weeks but a definite goal would be the recommended 1 pound a week. That I know I can do. I will do....my Charming will so thank me for it in the end....

I made it through yesterday - stayed within my points and didn't even use any flex points. Yippee!
This morning I had Special K with FF milk, planning on a nice large green salad for lunch and not sure about dinner. I would like to go grocery shopping tonight and get everything for the weekend and next week. Guess I should make a list.
My mom and sister went and joined last night. Of course their weights are top secret....but I did get the 10% out of my sister...does she not realize I'm not Jessica Simpson and I can calculate her weight by that? Oh well...;)
No big plans for the weekend. I would like to hit the beach and definitely walk/bike/swim some each day.

I 've had a great day so far....at lunch I had a nice green salad and the Applebee's WW onion 3 point soup. And now I am chewing gum to stop any munchie attacks. I have 12 points left for tonight which should be plenty!
I got some low calorie recipes off Kraft Foods and I think I am going to try one tonight. Have to stop by the grocery first!

Well - made it through the holiday weekend!! I was actually motivated to cook - I made potato salad - 2pts, cowboy beans - 5pts and burgers for our cookout! I thought that was pretty good! The potato salad was great and even DH loved it and he's used to his mom's german potato salad!!
Been great today, and planning on having a good night as well.
Got in a lot of exercise this weekend and with it being so hot....I definitely sweated out a ton - wish I could sweat away the pounds!!
tink- not sure the last time you were at WW...they still do the lex points but they also have the core plan...you can eat as much as you want on the core until you feel satisfied. I don't know too much about it as I follow the flex points. Just easier for me....:)

so far so good today...tomorrow is my weigh in day but the WW meeting is at 9am and I have a very fun and exciting tax seminar to go to. SO I will be weighing in at WW on Friday at 9am....one day should be ok. I'll go back to Thursday's next week. My sister is doing well on it. She thinks she's lost three pounds and our mother has not been doing well at all. She is blaming it on her job...no dice. She is getting no sympathy from us. My sister is trying to motivate her and get her to turn her life around. I don;t feel as though I have lost any this week but hopefully I haven't gained either. So we'll see on Friday!
Today I had a ff hot dog for breakfast - 3 points with bun and a tossed salad for with lite dressing for lunch (basically let, cukes and dressing) 2 points. Tonight I won't be home until late so I am probably going to eat a WW frozen dinner before leaving work to tide me over. Hoping to come in way under the points values for today....I still have some flex points left but I would like to make the most of today and tomorrow before weigh in ya know?
I signed up for the June exercise challenge and I am going to get to 1000 this month....I will I will I will...it's so gorgeous out there is no flippin' excuse to not be walking the beach every single night!

today is my seminar so hopefully we get a break for lunch and I can hit subway.....haven't had any breakfast but will probably pick up a granola bar on the way. Or something to tide me over. ;)
I have a class tonight so no working out, but WI is tomorrow morning and we plan on walking the beach tomorrow evening. Should be nice out as well.

Hi! Thanks for the encouragement. Well, I went to WI this am and I am down 1.4....actually I am surprised...I had some wine last night which usually just plants itself on my thighs....so I am happy with that and am ready to attack this week. This week I will go back to WI on Thursday today's line was out the door of WW...Friday must be very popular!! I did buy some of the 1 point fruit candy - I love those blackberry things! I am now going to look for some good recipes for this weekend. I am in a cooking mood!!
Goals for the week:
~some form of exercise every day!
~no eating out this weekend!
~bring lunches ALL next week (and add the $$ to WDW fundage!!)
~journal every day!
~try two new recipes that are low in points!
~stay on track and out of the extra 35 allowance points!
~get outside or to the beach in the evenings with the family!
WOWSA, that's a lot of goals...but hey - I need some form of something to get me off my butt! I wrote all these in my journal as well.
Now let's get going!!
:)
Have a great weekend all and remember......
NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS......(well, you get the idea!)

Well, we went to MGM and TL yesterday...I loaded the pics and boy I am so plump....great incentive though. I am going to keep looking at them and want our October trip pictures to show a hottie!
I did well, we did eat at 50's PT so that was a little over but I hadn't used any of my flex points and I didn't eat til I was stuffed nor did I have dessert. So that was good!
Today is going well, I brought a loaf of wheat bread, 2% cheese and HC turkey to make sands at lunch every day this week. I will save $50 if I can make it through the week!
I plan on slapping them together and going outside to dine. At least that will make me feel as though I am getting out of my office - which is my main deal. Oh and I hate leftovers. Not sure why, I just hate bringing them in to work. For dinner I am sure I'll pull something out. I need to go through the panty and have a couple veggie/pasta nights. I don't know how well that will go over with meat hound DH though. So maybe a meatless pasta tonight will be good and light.
So here's to Monday! WI is around the corner!

Do you know how jealous I am of you that you go to WDW all the time???? CRAZY JEALOUS!!!
Anyway...I know exactly how inspiring pictures can be to help you in your weight loss/fitness goals. Worked for me, it'll work for you too. Keep that picture (or pictures) close at hand. Post them all over the place.
As much as I don't like to, I usually end up making something different for me to eat at dinner. I usually try to eat something similar to the rest of the family...but maybe tweaked a little for my eating plan. Like the other night, the family had spag & meatballs with a salad. I had turkey meatballs and salad. (I don't let them eat my turkey meatballs b/c they are too expensive!!). I'm only telling you this because you mentioned your DH is a meat man. Mine is too, so it doesn't make it easy on us.
You're doing great, and hey with that $50 you're saving this week, you'll be able to go out and buy yourself some skinny jeans!! :woohoo:

so today I am beyond depressed....even before WI. I feel fat...I actually feel like what I imagine a sausage link stuffed neatly in its little casing would feel like. Some of it could be PMS....(coming this weekend) but I just am not me. I feel ugly and fat. I just can't seem to shake it....
so I went to WI and I was UP.... a whopping .4 - the lady laughed and said oh that doesn't even count....I should be happy considering I wolfed down a pot pie and a couple wines at 50's Prime Time on Sunday...you know it ain't fat free butter they are cooking with. So my WI could have been worse...but it could have been better. So I left there...not wanting to come back to work and I went to the grocery store..bought two WW meals (one for today's lunch as well as tomorrow) and two packages of cut up fruit. I've been great today...WW meal 2 points, water 0, popcorn 2, fruit 2....I just feel the need to shake this funk you know? I wish I could shake the junk but I know that will come soon....
Lately my calves are swelling...I have never had this problem excpet late in my pregnancies they would swell in the evening. I don't know what could be causing this but it bothers me and makes me feel like the Willie Wonka girl who blew up.
Enough whining....

Hey V....only 0.4 after going to WDW?? I'd say that's pretty darn good! But if you don't feel good...then that's no fun. Maybe check into your salt intake? Maybe salt combined with the heat is swelling you? Are you getting in enough water?
Maybe working out would help you out of your funk. Sometimes that makes me feel better.
Either way, you'll be back to your BAD GIRL self in no time. You're doing great!! Stick to it!!

Thanks Kim....I feel much better today! I stayed well within my points last night - even had 4 to spare!! This morning I am having Healthy Choice popcorn and water....WW meal for lunch and then we are going out to dinner hopefully somewhere healthy....and then we're going to see CARS!! I just bought the tickets online...can't wait.
Now I am going to take my 15 break and walk down Main St...wish it was WDW Main st!

Great job, V! I'm sure CARS is gonna be great & your girls will love it. I think we're taking the kids to see it on Sunday.
On my journal you asked me about stretching. I'm sure I should be doing more...but all I do is a basic straddle strech and lunge stretches. Maybe 2 minutes?? And I do the same thing after I run.

Hey, V, how's it going???
No more 'blue funk', OK??? I HATE when those arrive!!
Legs swelling ..... heat, sitting still too much(work), sodium(processed foods), water retention.... could be any number of things, just keep an eye and try to figure out when it happens. Last time I flew home from FL my legs were that way for about 24+ hours after we got home, then back to normal.
Have a great week this week!!

06-21-2006, 01:01 PM
Well......this week has been nutty and I have not been good on my points. I think it comes down to I haven't mentally been ready to really give it a go if that makes sense. Starting today I am really going to give it my best. I have WI tomorrow and I know I'll be up and I am ok with that. It's my own fault - I need to control the nighttime snacking.
A good note - I have gone to the gym everyday on my lunch this week...so as long as I can keep it up tomorrow and Friday I will be so happy!!
So far I have 11 points left for today and I have class tonight. So I will probably eat a small sandwhich - 4 points beforehand and keep it at that. I am trying to get my grocery bill and shopping under control - I spend between $60-$120 per visit and I go to the store 3 times a week! I am going to try and make a one week meal plan and just shop for the week to start. It will be tough but I hope I can do it!
I'll try and get to journals sometime....my mom is back in school and I am helping her with some statistics homework which is due Friday - so I doubt I'll be on much at night.
and yes we did see Cars...I loved it! It was really a cute movie!

06-21-2006, 03:23 PM
Hey V...I've missed ya!! Don't stay away so long!!
I completely understand what you mean about not mentally being ready. That definitely has to be a part of it, for it to stick. Sounds like you're doing great regardless, since you're still working out! I'll bet you're not going to see as much of a gain as you think you are tomorrow at WI.
...and what is up with the grocery store? I seem to spend a fortune in there too!! And then if I happen to be in Target...what do I buy??? More groceries!! :rolleyes1
Congrats to your mom on going back to school! I've been thinking about doing the same thing in the fall. I just need someone to give me a good push!!
We loved CARS too! Did you see that Lightening McQueen and Mater are in the Stars & Motorcars parade now? I know how you love MGM!! :thumbsup2
Take care!

Oh wow, I went to weigh in and I was down 0.2!! I know it's only 0.2, but I was expecting to be up 2 pounds or more!! That really motivated me....I even stayed for the meeting which was all about affirmations so it was really a great 1/2 hour spent.
I was suckered in to buying the new black book with all the goodies in...I think when I became lifetime all that helped me...- another mental thing!
So I am about to go to the gym for my lunch....been everyday so far this week!! On my way back to work I stopped and bought a WW meal for lunch, fresh fruit and SF jello....;) I plan on really being good this week. I mean it...I am really mentally ready at this point. My body feels good - sore but good...I did lots of stratching yesterday, some ballet stretches and I can really feel it today!!

I am so proud of myself...I have gone to the gym everyday this week!! I did it!! And it feels good...knowing I got 5 days in and the weekend - while I won't be going to the gym - I can walk or whatever and add to it!
Done well with journaling and points yesterday as well as today...hope to keep it up for the weekend. :)

well, it's going to be a year of new beginnings for me.
I have gained about 10 pounds more over the holidays...and really really need to get back into shape....I can definitely feel the difference. I have 28 pounds to lose to get back to my LT weight. I would like an additional 10 on top of that but will settle for anything at this point.
Hubby and I are doing two different triathalons one in April and one in May...they are both "small" but I feel as if it's a start to get me motivated.
I starting last night at the gym, did 45 minutes...felt good, came home and ate well, and no snacking.
I really want to stay focused and on track this year...I really indulged last year and I really lost myself, I can't stand my body and weight at this point, I just don't feel myself and also feel like I am not even acting myself due to the way I look.
We stopped on the way home from the gym and bought a scale...I have NEVER owned a scale...I have never wanted that to define me...but I think I need it to help keep me focused...
tonight DH is working late and I plan on talking the girls on a long walk when we get home. Tomorrow I am going to bring my gym clothes and start hitting the gym on my lunch hour. That usually works out better for me.
So bottoms up, here's to 2007 and getting back into bikini shape!
kimwim8
01-06-2007, 08:11 PM
Welcome back, V!
I too have re-committed myself for 2007. WE CAN DO IT! Those triathalons sound awesome! What does it mean that they are small? :confused3
Good luck, and we're here for you. Keep on journaling!!

so today starts a new week...I went grocery shopping late last night...who knew healthy food was so darn expensive!
I have done well today:
cantalope
WW frozen meal for lunch
98%ff popcorn for snack
and lots of water
plan on making a batch of the famous WW 0 point soup for dinner!!

03-01-2007, 10:27 AM
ok, I fell off the wagon. Maybe I was never really on the wagon. I took a look at myself in the mirror and just about burst into tears. I have to do something. I know weight and appearance should not define you, but I can tell how badly this is affecting me. I mean, my personality has drastically changed....I am not outgoing anymore.....and I just feel like a stuffed sausage.
So even though we are going to WDW this weekend I am going to do my best to eat on the healthier side. At least I know I will be doing a lot of walking.
lillygator
03-12-2007, 12:20 PM
I made a commitment to myself this week....get to the gym M-F, walk in the evening with the family (now we have more light!), journal each day and take it one step at a time....
So today I hit the gym on lunch - 30 min on the bike and 20 min of weights...eating a HC frozen meal for lunch and am at 10 points for the day so far....would like to not go over 20 for the day.
I can do it....!
ETA: and so starts day one of journaling!!
lillygator
03-12-2007, 12:24 PM
For dinner I am planning on grilling shrimp, tossing it over pasta with diced tomatoes and basil and a nice fresh salad. That should be a total of no more than 7 points depending on the dressing used and not more than a cup of pasta. We rarely eat dessert at home so no worries there...my biggie is wine with dinner, but we are out, so no points used there....water, water, water!
lillygator
03-12-2007, 12:28 PM
I am also going to challenge myself to 600 minutes of exercise starting today and ending on 3/31 - that's 30 minutes a day.
So far today I have done 50/600 and hope to add a walk to it tonight! It's gorgeous out and no excuse for not getting out there and enjoying it.
I am not sure if it will help but I plan to add two 15 min walks around the building during the day...like around 10am and 2pm. I figure it can't hurt after sitting at a desk all day and at least I will get some fresh air.
lillygator
03-12-2007, 04:22 PM
so far so good this afternoon.
We were out of the building for 45 min due to an evacuation and I didn't get my 15 min walk in but will walk tonight. I am about out of here for the day and am going to run home get dinner going, get the kids fed, load of laundry and walk - hopefully the fresh air will wear them out a little as well. I am going to get on the PC to check my emails and that is is...15 min max. I need to get my butt off the computer chair!!

03-12-2007, 08:27 PM
well I managed to get a 20 min walk in so I am at 70/600. It was such a nice walk. I took the baby and the breeze was wonderful.
For dinner I whipped up the shrimp with mushrooms, onions, tomatoes over angel hair....everyone had that and a salad. I skipped the salad as I wasn't that hungry. Since it's almost nine and I'm not hungry - I think it is safe to say it's been a good day!

03-13-2007, 12:55 PM
45 min at the gym on lunch so I am 115/600.....gotta keep moving. Hopefully will get a brisk walk in tonight as well. Or even a jog!
Managed to stay within points yesterday and so far today I am on track as well. Dinner will be grilled chicken, veggies and salad.

Been hanging in there....I decided to go back to WW. (I am a lifetime member that fell off the wagon, HARD!) I got a new LT booklet and she also gave me all the newer materials...they are pretty much the same just spruced up a bit. Felt good to stay to a meeting and pretty motivational. There were a couple people in there that had lost quite a bit.
Doing good on points for today! For dinner I plan on onions and mushrooms wrapped in a tortilla. DH has a ball game tonight, it's at 7pm, not sure if we;ll go out tonight or not. I haven't gone in a while and I would hate to show up and everyone think, oh my goodness she got FAT! Something I need to get over I guess.

Friday - yeah!! Going grocery shopping tonight. The Gators play tonight so I am going to do my best to pick up some low point snacks so I don't eat any wings!! I am also planning on getting in a run before the game....at least 30 minutes.....I have to say I bought the WW journal and I love the new design and the little recipes and quotes they put on the daily pages. Really cute!
I did end up going to DH's game last night and it was fine...all the guys were so glad to have a fan finally come out!

well today is weigh in, I am not looking forward to it at all!! Let's say, I did not have the first week back that I would have loved, but it's over and done with so....going forward!
It's also my time of month which just adds to the bloating...not to mention emotional eating!
Meeting is at 10:30...have not had breakfast or anything...I know I should but I am going to wait until I get out of the meeting.
When I did ww initially, I allowed my weigh in day, to be my "bad" day..not overdoing it, but allowing myself something that I normally wouldn't. But I make the call after I see my progress....let's hope for a smidgen of a loss this week!!
lillygator
03-29-2007, 10:46 AM
so I survived weigh in with only a 0.8 gain. I am happy with that as I did not stay within my points the past few days. So tonight I am going to allow myself some goodies...as in wine with Grey's!! ;)
Maybe chicken and rice for dinner, something easy and not terribly bad. I have only had 2 points so far today so I need to eat something!!

weighed in today and down a pound! So I am happy about that. Only had 3 points so far today and am planning on a nice large salad for lunch and maybe a veggie plate for dinner. Lately at night I haven't been all that hungry at all!
Walked/jogged 45 minutes on Monday but nothing since so I need to get back out there tonight.
Slowly but surely I am going to get there!
lillygator
04-19-2007, 10:51 AM
I also have mapped out my goals....kind of sad to think of it in terms of mainly disney trips but hey....and set at a pound a week, hopefully it will be more but you never know!
so starting today....it will be 16 weeks until our August trip...at 1lb a week I am hoping to be down 16 pounds by then....
25 weeks until our October trip....goal 25 pounds by then...
29 weeks until my birthday....goal 29 pounds by then...
34 weeks until Christmas....goal 34 pounds by then....
40 weeks until the end of January...goal 40 pounds by then...
I KNOW if I stay on track and on plan I can have this in the bag...I just have to have the mindset and will power to do it.

Looking forward to getting out and walking tonight...maybe I can get DH to dig out my bike from the garage.

ok - went to the gym on lunch - did 30 minutes of jogging/walking....so I am challenging myself for May....930 minutes of exercise for the month. Even though we are going to WDW for a week, I do know I will at least be getting 30 minutes a day in walking those parks...and as much as I will want to pig out, I am going to try and be somewhat healthy.
I did say try!
so 30/930 --- only 900 more to go!

Food:
breakfast - sugar free lemonade and bowl of fruit
lunch - WW meal 4pts, sugar free pudding and sugar free jello
snack - reduced fat cheese nips
so points so far today.....9 would like to stay within 22.

I got celery, 0 pt soup, several 4pt meals, hearts of palm, low fat milk, Special K, wonder light bread, fat free turkey and some other snacks to keep here at work.
I know for me the first week is the hardest always thinking about food, so I figure if I eat small meals and snacks often it will help.

now I am snacking on some hearts of palm...for 1 point! Gotta love that and I'll eat lunch in about 1/2 an hour or so. I have to keep motivated, I have to keep motivated!
Nothing tastes as good as thin feels ------ yeah right, I am trying to keep telling myself that!

finished out the day strong...! This morning I had a bowl of special K and just had some celery sticks for a snack. Will either eat a bowl of 0 pt soup or a ww frozen meal for lunch. It is soooooo cold here...so cold! I hope I am burning some calories with all the darn shivering I am doing!
