Northwest cancelled my return flight which was scheduled for 6:55pm. The put me on a 3:30 flight. I would like to cancel the 4 tickets I have. Will they let em do it or will I have a fight on my hands. Thanks...

You really won't know until you call them. I've had good luck with NWA. When you call, tell them that the new flight times will not work for you and that you would like a refund so that you can make other arrangements. It's just my opinion, but I do not think you will have a problem - 3 1/2 hours would be a big difference to me, too. Good Luck!

Timkin,

They did the same thing to me. I was originally scheduled to depart MCO at 7:35 p.m. which got changed to 6:55 p.m. in September. Well I check my flight schedule everyday and low and behold they cancelled by 6:55 flight and put me on a 3:30 flight. I'm going to discuss with my DH tonight and see what he wants to do.

FYI - when I checked N.W.'s flight schedule there is a flight that departs MCO at 5:15 p.m. I believe its flight #441. If you really don't want to cancel but would prefer a later time, they will put you on the later flight. Hope this helps.

Simba, I really would like to cancel the flight and go to WDW at a later date. We were going for our 10 Year anniversary and under the circumstances it would not be the dream vacation that we hoped....We even got Cindy's. My question really would be will NWA give me flack about getting a refund.

timkin,
Here's what you do. Call Northwest...have your (old) itinerary available. Ask them if flight # (insert old flight #) has been cancelled on the date you are flying. If they answer 'yes', explain to them that you booked this flight because you had to fly at that particular time and you chose to fly Northwest because it offered a flight that fit your schedule the best...

They may offer you some alternate times to fly, which you have the right to decline. Then politely ask/tell them that you believe rule 240 should be in effect since your original flight was cancelled and you would like a full refund. If you are polite, you should get one. I did with Delta, now Northwest is a totally different bowl of wax, so I cannot guarantee you will...but you can only try.

I'd also suggest going to www.onetravel.com and clicking on 'RULES OF THE AIR' link on the left side of the page.
