Yes, I am way ahead of myself, as we can't even book yet.
BUT.... who thinks they're going????

The way it sounds from my TA, we shouldn't have a problem as more people are wanting the repo cruises.

We chose June 6th because of the weather and not so many European tourists. (since August is vacation month in Europe.)

I can't wait!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :cool1: :Pinkbounc

I booked the first 10-day...finally! My DH thinks it will be HOT in June...guess we'll find out. I was tempted to book the May 11-day because it will probably be cooler and have fewer kids, but then I'm not sure I want my first time at those Mediterranean ports to also be DCL's first time there! The May cruisers can get all the kinks worked out before we arrive. :teeth:

***edited to add that after talking to my DH (who is in Puerto Rico at the moment) - he would rather go earlier if we go at all. So...booked the 11-day online, but saw no way to cancel the 10-day online! Just got off the phone with DCL after waiting only a few minutes and cancelled the June 6th cruise.

I'm sure you'll have a great time, and I imagine we will too - in spite of the kinks!

Exactly, get all the kinks and bugs out of their systems so the June 6th cruise will be perfect! I was thinking about the June 16th, 11 day but thought why pay extra for a day at sea? We will skip port day at Florence since we were just there and didn't care for it. It is perfect, right in the middle, to give us a break from the other ports.

See ya on the ship!

We got our reservations this morning at 5:30 PDT! Out of bed at 4:30 a.m., on the phone immediately. We are in room 2564, my daughter is in 6584!

We are so excited. My son in law is very well traveled in Europe. Then, after the cruise, we are jetting off to Paris to go to DL Paris. Should be fun!

I wonder how long I can stretch this vacation???? :rotfl2:

Well, it looks like we got the ship to ourselves! No one else booked the 6/6 10 day?

I just ordered 4 travel books from Amazon. Can't wait to start reading! :cool1:

Which books did you order? I already have the Eyewitness Italy and the Eyewitness Cruise Guide to Europe and the Mediterranean. I will probably order Rick Steves' Italy 2007 when it becomes available at the end of this year or the beginning of next.

I ordered:

Lonely Planet guide to the Med., Frommer's European Cruises, Mediterranean By Cruise Ship, and Cruise Guide to the Europe & The Mediterranean.

I'll let you know how they are. I got them from Amazon. I bought the used copies, much cheaper!

I'm not sure if you caught the edit to my first post on this thread, but I switched from the June 6th to the May 26th cruise yesterday afternoon to appease my DH - who thinks ANY trip to the Mediterranean during the summer will be "too hot"! When I talked to him this evening on the phone (he is away on business), he said what he really wanted to do was a land tour of Italy in the fall, rather than a cruise. So - we may be back to our original plans of cruising to Alaska in 2007 and visiting the Mediterranean (whether by land or sea) in the fall of 2008. Stay tuned!

Hi guys! This is sort of a quiet thread so I thought I would join in. I am a long-time lurker. I almost never post. But I am soooo excited for the 10-day Med cruise! DH said no more Caribbean cruises, so I was thrilled Disney is going to Europe and we could book. We have b/g twins, will be age 9 at the time of cruise. I'm really interested in learning more about the ports and trying some excursions on our own. We are also thinking about some time on the Costa Brava after the cruise, if I can figure out where to go. Look forward to chatting!

Thanks for posting! Yep, this is a very slow thread. Doesn't seem to be too many cruisers on the date. We are excited, can't wait to see what the excursions are gonna be.

Let's get this thread going!!!!! :Pinkbounc

Why is this thread so slow???

There must be only a few of us on the ship.

When I spoke to my TA, she said there was "plenty" of room on the ship... I wonder why this date is not very popular?

Come on guys!!!! Let's get this thread movin'!!!!! :cool1:

Hi Everyone,

We just returned from the 6/2 western cruise and had a GREAT time (how can you not on a Disney cruise). On board ship we went to a DVC member “get together” and there we heard the Mediterranean cruise was already 70% booked. I don’t know if he was talking about 1 specific cruise or all. We booked this Med cruise in April the week they started taking reservations and the DVC member services rep said they were already busy taking reservations for these cruises. This will be our next Disney vacation and are looking forward to it very much. 359 days, but who is counting. :hourglass

Why is this thread so slow???

If it makes you feel any better, I'm like a one-woman show over on the 6/27/07 board - and I'm not that entertaining. Hmmmm ... correlation? :lmao:

If there's just a few of us on this cruise, we will have tons of room. :Pinkbounc

We chose the 6/6 cruise because my son in law, who lived for several years in Paris, said the later in the summer you are in Europe, the smellier it gets! He also said that Europe is literally "closed" in August. All the Europeans go on vacation and just close down their shops.

So after the cruise we will be going to DLP for a week with side trips into Paris [my daughter wants to see the Da Vinci Code sites], and Normandy where my father in law landed during WWII.

We will arrive in Barcelona three days prior to the cruise, but we don't have any concrete plans there yet. All I know is that we will be touring the Gaudi sites.

Our personal plans are taking shape quite nicely.

We have less than a year to plan -- guess we'd better get with it. :cool1:

Hi. It seems that we both started Jun 6Th 2007 threads. Somehow my search didn't find yours. I guess we should consolidate the two threads somehow

I know I started this board, but I just jumped ship! pirate: :moped:

My in-laws decided they wanted to go along with us, and it was hard to swallow alomst $6,000 for 2 people. We decided to sail Voyager of The Seas for the Med. next year. We got an Owner's suite for us (on DCL we had a Cat. 9) and a Verandah for the in-law's. Plus we still saved $3,500.
Just to good of a deal to pass up.

So Kissimmeee, I pass the torch to you... The thread is all yours!!!!!!!
