:bounce: I'm a New York cop, and as you can imagine, it's been .stress to the max lately. Anyway, my girlfriend & I, after seeing a segment on Travel Channel, booked 5 days at Portrofino Bay hotel. It was a little impulsive, and I was wondering if any of you good folks out there could offer any comments about the hotel . Any input greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!!

YOu absolutely deserve to have fun and relax and you picked a great place to do it. You will love the place and enjoy the parks. We stayed at the HRH, but from what I've read on this board, the PBH is quiet, relaxing, and classy.

You will love the hotel! Very romantic. Has three swimming pools.
We love the villa pool, even though the setting is the Italian country side you will feel like you've been thrown back to old Hollywood with the palm trees, roses, and large urns(also by the villa pool is a lovely hot tub and cool down tub ). The other pool is the large beachy type pool with a great slide... the third pool is on a hill by a grape arbor (it is quiet and surrounded by lush lawn). I enjoy the piazza view/ Bay view room the best. You can watch the boats come and go, and, if you are lucky you can get a patio outside the room with wrought iron furniture. The bathrooms are nice and large and the beds are very comfortable. The furnishings are also quite nice! The grounds and shops are absolutely lovely. Exploring the hotel is well worth it, just the ladies rooms alone will knock your girlfriends socks off. A really fun thing (and romantic) is to sit outside at a table on the piazza by Sal's deli, get a couple specialty pizzas and some good wine. You have chosen the right place, it will provide you with some space, peace, and relaxation. You may not want to leave to go to the parks! Oh yes, there is a great bar there called the American... good drinks, champagne by the glass, and great little silver trays of bar snacks ( olives, pistaccio nuts, etc.). A really nice cosmopolitan bar. Enjoy it, you deserve it.

Welcome, copper john!
Wow, you had a rough job even BEFORE this month. My hats off to all of you guys!
I hope you're taking advantage of the great offer for free admission to SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and such. It is well deserved.
Have a great time...

Well you certainly picked the right hotel for well deserved R & R!! We just returned from a wonderful weekend at PBH, it couldn't have been nicer! We had the best view so far from all our trips there. In the main building, a villa room overlooking the Bay! Just beautiful!! Enjoy :)

The PBH is beautiful, relaxing and elegant but not stuffy. DH and I went there solo about a year ago. The spa tub was great, there's one by the beach pool and the villa pool. There are many wonderful food choices there too. Have a great time! You deserve it!

You will love the Portofino...a great place to relax...we have stayed 5 times...our sixth time coming up next month. They have the best large/fluffy towels out by the pool, so don't worry about stuffing those into your luggage. Great restaurants/shops, absolutely beautiful. Enjoy!
