My DS4 used to do that to our mouths as well when he was that age and younger. We used to comment how we thought he would be a dentist when he grew up :rotfl: !
Btw, that is such an adorable picture!

I have a few...
One year we were at Chef Mickeys around closing time and my brother, BIL, and Father were getting into deep conversation (can't remember about what) anyways I looked around and we were the only people left in the restaurant. I apologize to our waitress and she sat down and joined in on the conversation. Meanwhile Mickey came out and started slow dancing with my 3 1/2 yr old niece. She started to get sleepy and laid down in her dads arms. As we were walking up to the monorail Mickey came running towards us with Goofy and Minnie. Goofy took my sleeping niece from her dad and carried her to the monorail and then the three characters road back to GF with my family. It was the most memorable character moment and I keep hoping that now that I have a daughter we might be that lucky (yeah right... that was a once in a lifetime thing).
The next was a strange moment when Tigger kept returning to our table (again at Chef Mickeys) and combing my wife's hair with our dirty forks... didn't know what to think about it especially when our waitress kept coming over to apologize. The next day the staff at CM's had sent a gift basket with shampoo's and lotions from Basin to our room.
The next would be at O'hana with Goofy shoving fruit in my wife's mouth then running to the kitchen and coming back more fruit and stuffing her mouth until her cheeks were bulging then bringing people from other tables to take pictures of her while acting like he was laughing his head off.
The last was a Cape May when Goofy put a sign on my sisters back that said "I am a dork" and when she found it she had the waitress put a "kick me" sign on his back and when he found that he threw a donut at her and chased her around the restaurant. Everyone in the restaurant just sat and stared at them. It was a very awkward moment.

Back in the 70's my DH(we weren't married then) had a mishap in MK. He was
in line to pay for some t-shirts when he starts to experience some "cramping".
He leaves the shirts, and goes tearing past me saying he has to find a rest
room NOW. It's our first time there and we don't know where they are! Well,
he's all bent over and in pain and it's starting to be a desperate situation when
he encounters Chip and Dale and he screams, "Where's the bathroom!" They
see what the situation is and they both start jumping up and down pointing
frantically to the nearest restroom. My future DH manages to make it in the
nick of time and needless to say we eventually purchased the shirts and were
happy not to have to buy a pair of pants too. To this day, DH has his picture
taken with Chip and Dale every trip and thanks them for their assistance over
30 years ago in his hour of need. They always pat him on the back, shake
their heads and give him the thumbs up like they remember it well. Good GOD,
how could they forget! I know I'll never forget it. What amazes me is that I
married him anyway and here we are working on year 26. Ah, Disney memories!

My DS6 & DD6 were meeting the Power Rangers at MGM. They both had autograph books. The White Ranger was getting ready to sign my DS's book when I realized he had turned the book over & was getting ready to sign on the back of a page that had already been signed by another character. I didn't want him to do that b/c I plan on removing the pages & putting them in a scrapbook. Anyway, I tried to turn the book over so he could sign on the correct page & he wouldn't let me! I tried 3 times & he yanked the book away & signed it anyway. Ticked me off! But I didn't say anything b/c DS was standing right there. DS was a bit confused about why White Ranger did that & I just told him it didn't matter, we'd figure it out later.
Weird...

My family (wearing matching Incredibles shirts) was walking down the street at MGM when the street character lady started singing "Oh, she made us wearing matching shirts & I got stuck with the baby on my head." Hilarious! My DH had my daugher riding on his shoulders. We were walking behind her & of course weren't expecting anything like that. We cracked up!

I don't normally do character interactions, but I'm such a Star Wars geek that I try to meet a few characters during every Star Wars Weekends. About 2 years ago I met Darth Maul, and he and I had a staring contest! It was sooo funny because he cheated and blew in my face! :rotfl: Then I met Emperor Palpatine, and I had my lightsaber out and the Royal Guards stopped me with their force pikes before I could get near the Emperor. Another time, I was sitting down waiting for the Star Wars Edition of Who Wants to be a Millionaire-- Play It!, and as I was putting pins on my lanyard a Sandtrooper walked up behind me and started staring over my shoulder. All I could think of to do was wave my hand at him and say, "These are not the droids you're looking for." He stood up, looked confused, and left. Funny! :rotfl:
The way those characters can remember is amazing! I posed with Zam Wessell and Jango Fett one day, then two weeks later went back with my brothers and Zam remembered me!
We were at Disneyland when my son was about 3 1/2. We had dinner at Goofy's Kitchen and Princess Aurora kept going on and on about how cute our little prince was. The next day we were walking around the castle and Cinderella came out. We stood in line and I realized it was the same girl that was in the Sleeping Beauty costume the night before. She said to my son...My friend Princess Aurora told me all about you last night. You had dinner at Goofy's Kitchen didn't you?
My son was really impressed that the princesses all knew each other. :rotfl:

Last year on our DCL cruise, we had had our picture taken with the characters a lot. On our last night, we were having a picture with Capt. Mickey, and I had just turned around for a second to get my camera back from the CM - when I turned back, my DH was HOLDING MICKEY with Mickey's feet about a foot off the ground! He was smiling and laughing, and I was just mortified! "Put him down, put him down," I was frantically whispering, looking around and praying that no one noticed. DH later said to me, "Mickey jumped in my arms. What was I supposed to do, drop him?"
DH still talks about it and laughs. I'm just mortified, because I'm still not convinced that Mickey really did jump into his arms! Definately a strange interaction!

Ok I just found this thread the other day and read a handfull of pages each day. Copied & pasted about 30 of the best ones to my mom.
We are going next summer and are doing Disney dining plan for the 1st time. It will cost a lil more than the counter meals we usually do but after reading all the interactions at character meals....I see it will be well worth it!! I already have 7 character meals tentatively planned!
Love these stories...........please, someone must be remembering some more!!

We have of course had many encounters but two of my favourite
1) My daughter has spina bifida and uses a wheelchair for mobility, her first trip to DL she was 8. We met the mad hatter mid morning and he paid very special attention to just her for several minutes. Really making her feel special. Chatting with her and asking her questions about her life. He completely ignored all the other rude children pushing their way in and thrusting their autograph books at him demanding he sign them. But a couple hours later we encountered him again in another part of the park. We were only passing by, knowing we had already spent enough time with him, He saw us passing and called out to her, remembering her name and several other tid bits about her. He ran over and gave her a hug. That was a really nice thing for her. I do have to add, that ALL of the characters that my daughter met went out of their way to give her a bit of extra attention.
2) My husband and I travel with a stuffed Vulture (long story) but we took him on our last trip (without the kids) and it was our mission for the vulture to have his picture taken with all the characters. They all had a reaction of one kind or another to him. But Pluto grabbed him from my husbands hands and shoved him inside his own mouth. He is a bird dog after all...LOL

These are great. Especially the STar Wars "these are not teh droids...." interaction. Wish I could say Cinderella or Jasmine asked for a Phone number or something cool like that, but I cant. Hopefully my two boys have some great interactions when we go back in Feb.

not so strange but last time i was in Disney world I was about 15 at the time and I was having lunch at some character buffet with my mom and little sister and pluto came over and kept staying around me... pointing at his heart then me, kneeling down on one knee it was cute and then i got up after i thought he left for another table and he came back running over, got down on one knee again kissed my hand and then proceeded to get up and PICK me up and carry me around (think honeymooner style) pretended like he was gunna carry me out the door! my mom thought it was cute and my sister was laughing hilariously but i was kinda embaressed being 15 and all being carried around a resturant! lol

About a year ago (mid-Sep 05) my DFamily (DW, DS7, DD1, DMe) had an ADR for Cindy's Royal Lunch (loved it BTW). I had read that sometimes some of the princes may be there, but when we arrived, we didn't see them. We asked Cindy where the princes were that day. Her reply...
"The boys took the day off to play paintball."

Just got back from WDW, and wanted to share a quick story. We were on the Star Tours ride, and it stopped right in the middle. We sat there in the dark for a minute, and then a cast member came in and began apologizing profusely, and ushered us out of that simulator and lined us up in front of another.
As we passed by an entryway, I saw a stormtrooper. Since my ds is a Star Wars FREAK, I said "look there's stormtroopers over there!" He just about came unglued. The cast member that was with us, walked over to the stormtrooper and told them we were waiting for a new ride to Endor, so the stormtroopers (2 of them) came over to our group, and started interacting with us.
My youngest son screamed "You don't scare me! I'm going to use the force to make you go away" (he's not very shy)
Well the stormtrooper charged at him and grabbed him and pointed the gun at his head. Was my son scared? No, he was laughing hysterically.
Then my ds said "Hey give my sister a hug!' My dd just about died, but the stormtrooper shook his head no, and then acted like he was going to grab my son again.
Needless to say, my boys were so very glad that Star Tours broke down that day! :darth:

on a trip to wdw maybe 10 years ago (i was about 8), my dad and i went to a character greeting for all the villains (queen of hearts, governor ratcliffe, etc) and the first character in line was jafar. so, i say hi, tell him how particularly evil he was looking that day (gotta flatter the villains), and hand him my autograph book.. he signs it, and points towards my dad.. i was like 'dad, don't you agree jafar looks like he could cause aladdin a lot of trouble today?' to which my dad replied "yeah, he looks very menacing, especially with those BUSHY EYEBROWS he's got going on there".. jafar turned his head towards my dad, and snapped my autograph book shut really loudly about 1/2 an inch away from my dad's nose.. i found this hilarious, and hi-fived jafar.. my dad was in shock, and walked away silently (not before apologizing!)

My experience was more embarassing than strange. My DH and I were in Tokyo Disneyland. We were walking along a back path when I got jumped by five of King Louie's monkeys. They came out of nowhere! They made a monkey sandwich with me as the filling. :grouphug: They got pretty "friendly" with their hugs. I think I got monkey bumped a few times as well. My DH almost wet himself from laughing! Thank goodness there wasn't anyone else around to see my very red face. I have never looked at monekys the same way. :teeth:

We were at WDW in the late 90s. Took the kids to see Mickey in Toontown. We were getting a family picture with goofy. I was wearing my John Elway Denver Broncos Jersey. Goofy pointed to it and shook his head "no". That is the most we have ever seen a character "get out of character". I thought it was funny.

One time I went to the MK....me and another guy, and two of our gal friends.
I went to get a picture with the Queen of Hearts, and she beckoned for my other male friend to come too. She was being very flitartious with us, kissing us and such.
I tried to get my female friends over and the Queen got jealous and pushed one of my female friends (in a playful kind of way) but my friend lost her balance and fell over backwards and scrapped her arms.
The Queen blew us guys kisses, and took off. :confused3

Then Minnie gave us a quick wave :wave2: and was off to the next table!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: We still laugh about how Mom brought out the worst in Minnie!!!

I also ate at the Character Breakfast that had Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. My now 28 yr old daughter was then 3 years old - How time flies. It was on a ship in what is now Downtown Disney but at that time was Buena Vista Shopping Village. Mr. Smee walked over and pretended to eat some of DD's scrambled eggs. 25 yrs later she still remembers that "That pirate stole my eggs." which is what she said when it happened. We have adorable pictures of Mr. Smee holding her fork.

I forgot about this one...
When my youngest DD was 3 we were at WDW. Donald came out and she was literally the only child there waiting to meet him. She was wearing a Daisy hat that squeeked when you squeezed it. Well Donald took the hat being playfull and forgot to give it back. We didnt even realize that the hat was gone untill later in the day when my DD wanted her hat back. We had to go to customer service and wait for "Donald" to give her hat back. I have no idea if it was the same Donald or not, but my DD was very happy when he returned her hat to her.

It's been quite awhile since I've really gone up to any characters. This last trip the only character I went up to was Jack Sparrow. The entire time I spent with him was pretty strange. But the funniest thing was when he went up to my 16 y.o. brother who was taking the picture. He started asking him questions and was all over him. I swear Cap'n Jack was hitting on my little brother.:rotfl2: My brother who is shy, answered his questions, but was just standing there like "please go away now" the entire time.:lmao: Jack eventaully left him alone and came back over by me. I was at MK with my friend and her family. We were the last ones in line to see Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. I walked up to them and one of the Tweedle kept pointing to his cheech to give him a kiss. I thought it was a little werid kissing the costume, but anywho we did. The next thing I know Tweedle gets on he knee and pretends like he's proposing. This little stunt went on for atleast 5 minutes. It was a riot, but it was a little goofy. Our guess was that there were 2 teenage boys in the suits, but who knows.

Mine are hugely funny but we've had some fun times.
I think it was our first trip with the kids, and they were 11(DS) and just turned 6(DD), and DD was in LOVE with Pluto. So one night we were there late just before the park closed and we saw Pluto and Goofy and they spent so much time with her!
And we were in Ohana that same trip, and having a great time. It was our last day, and DD had on a pink princess hat with the scarf, and they all had fun with that. Then Chip and Dale came over and really focused on my 11yr old DS who was much more quiet and didn't really interact with the characters, and they put the princess hat on him, then Chip proposed, and they got one of the paper napkin rings and put a ring on his finger, and DS was grinning from ear to ear.
Our 2nd trip was the first time we ran into any villians and didn't know how they behaved. DD was still only 6, and she wouldn't even get near Jafar, and then we stumbled across Cruella De Ville at MGM, and DD got in the circle to watch her, and Cruella looks over at her and says, "You, Tinkerbell, get over here" DD was scared to death and I got some really fun photos of her looking terrified.
The last one isn't a character interaction at all, but was one of the great Disney moments with your kids. It was our first trip, and DD was barely 6, and she was just getting into the autograph thing. We were waiting for the Electric Light Parade, and she had chatted up the man sitting next to us. He had invited her to sit in front with him and was asking her questions, she was wearing her princess hat and he asked her what her name was and she told him she was "Princess WannaWanna from the Planet GimmeeGimmee". I just busted out laughing because I had never heard her say that before. He thought it was hysterical, and was even more thrilled when she asked him to sign her autograph book. He left her a really nice note.
Always ;-)

Most interaction with characters seem to be the usual hug, autograph, and photo except my DS (age 5 at the time) and the dwarfs. While waiting and waiting for Snow White and the dwarfs to appear for autographs, my DS strolled over to a park bench and waited. Sleepy entered first and walked over to my son and sat with him on the bench...no, technically he laid on the bench with him. My son looked at him in amazement, wondering why he wasn't talking to him. He then leaned over the sleeping dwarf and bopped in on the head and told him to wake up it was time to take and picture with him. This interaction wasn't with a character but with a CM - our server at Liberty Tree Tavern was a sweet middle aged woman & she was very nice. At one point during the meal she told my sons that she would show them what she drove when she came back to the table. I assumed she'd show them or tell them about something period from Liberty Tree Tavern - she comes back & from her order pad whips out a photograph of her in black leather standing by her Harley at her house. It was SO out of character that I was speechless. The kids thought it was cool but DH & were like "huh?" We weren't discussing transportation or anything, she just brought this up out of the blue. We thought it was a bit odd! To me a CM is 100% Disney when they're on the job - I know they're real people with real lives but when I'm in WDW I don't want to know what they look like in their black leather motorcycle gear!

Our strangest was also one of the best character visits ever.
DH and I took our parents to WDW in 2005 and we stopped at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner.
Before the food even came Chip & Dale came by and began playing with my MIL and FIL. Mostly my MIL who doesn't smile much at all but I tell ya she was loving the antics. They were putting straw wrappers in her hair, napkins on her head and just goofing off. One of them pretended to pick FIL's nose etc. Then Goofy came over to join in the fun too and all 3 critters began pretending to style my hair with a fork (luckily unused!) and straws as curlers :rotfl: They were just roaming all around the table messing with all of us.
They were with us for at least 20 mins and other people in the restaurant were taking pics of OUR table
Then Minnie came by and posed with FIL and "scolded" Goofy, Chip & Dale. As she walked away Goofy threw a roll at her! LOL
:rotfl2:
Shortly after that they moved on, but the rest of the evening I didn't see any other table get that kind of attention.
It was really odd (and great!) that a table of 5 adults got so much attention. We all loved it!

This isn't "weird" persay, but it did creep me out...
When in DL in 2004, my ex-fiance somehow managed to give my engagement ring to Pluto without me knowing. So here I am, ready to smile for my picture, and Pluto gets down on one knee.
Thinking back on it, I should have said yes to Pluto! :rotfl:

DD4 was dressed in one of the princess dresses that looks like a flower (sorry, no picture), and when we met Alice in Wonderland, Alice asked her if she was a flower.
Later, we were going up to Cinderella's stepsisters, and DD says to me "Tell them I'm not a flower." I dutifully convey the message and get the response "So what is she, a weed?"
(I thought it was hilarious, DD was offended, and the stepsisters coddled her out of the stroller to make up for it.)

When I went to WDW on my honeymoon in 1982, we had just gotten into MK. As we started to head down main street when Goofy sees me, runs over to me and picks me up, throwing me over his shoulder and taking off with me! He carries me about halfway down the street, with my new-husband trailing behind us, laughing up a storm! He then puts me down, kisses me on the top of my head and headed back to where he had been greeting people! I still couldn't talk and had no idea how I got so lucky to get such a welcome to my first visit to WDW!
Turns out, one of my best friends from college was "helping" Goofy that day and spotted me. I had no idea until about a month later!

I have two these are not bad they are different
During the parade my sis was sitting in her stroller and she was all covered up because it was cold and all you could see was her face and the Fairy Godmother (many years ago when she was not on a float) came up to my sis and kissed her on the forehead for the rest of the day my sis had a big red mark on her forehead
A few years later during MNSSHP Parade the bad guy from Mulan stops in the parade and comes up to me get over me and looks at me until i was about to fall over and then he runs up to his place in the parade
That is it

A few years ago a friend and I went on a weekend trip to the world(she had never been). We were in MGM, at the end of the New York Street(where the backstage tour tram passes by). She went up to Pluto to get a picture with him. He pretty much throws her on the grass, is on top of her, and starts tickling her! She was laughing, but was like OMG! at the same time. The backstage tour tram passes by, and everyone on board was just staring at us like What the heck is going on here. I thought it was pretty weird! I never saw a character do that before!

On a trip with several college buddies we had an interaction with chip...or dale...can't remember which....wherein the chipmunk noticed our university themed apparel and broke character a bit to inform us, through scribbles on a napkin, that he too was an alumnus of our great alma mater.

During our character meal at Ohana last year. Lilo had just finished visiting us and noticed the waiter had cleaned and was setting the table next to us. She started out playing just moving the stuff around. She then stole all the silverware. When the waiter left to go get more silverware she emptied the salt shaker all over the table. The waiter was not amused when he returned but my DSis was rolling with laughter. I never knew Lilo was so bad.

My "weird" interaction started out by me not understanding what Goffy was "saying"......
Turns out he was flirting with me and wanted me to kiss him on the nose.
Once I did, he fell/fainted.
Much to the kids delight.... since they all started to laugh hehehe
Here's the picture.

Once at a character breakfast, Aladdin came over and sat at our table by my 9 yo son, who was wearing his birthday button. They were chatting about all kinds of things... and as they chat, Aladdin is helping himself to bacon from my son's plate! Then he pilfers a muffin and puts it in his pocket (after looking slyly left and right). Later, the same Aladdin saw us out in the park and came running up to my son and waved him to come with him. They went running off, with me huffing behind, trying to keep up! They cut through this pathway, then climbed up on this stone wall, where they 'ambushed' the Red Queen, who got mad, stamped her foot, and pantomimed "off with your heads!" before she stomped off! Aladdin high-fived my son, then went on his way. We later saw Aladdin again in the parade... strangely enough, he wasn't Aladdin anymore, he was Tarzan (same actor, though) - he waved and called to my son by name - it was cool!
At the same character breakfast as above, we were visited by Alice in Wonderland and she was quite chatty. She was telling us how, just the other day in Neverland... then she stopped, giggled, and said "Did I just say Neverland? I meant to say my dear friend Wendy in Neverland told me about..." - she caught her own mistake (she must also play Wendy!) and didn't drop character! Kids never noticed!
At the same breakfast, Donald came by and saw my son's Micky tshirt and Wizard Mickey toy and he got very huffy about it. Wrote on our table that Mickey was #2, but he, Donald, was #1. When I disagreed, he wrote MOM, then he drew an arrow at me - IS #3!!!
My daughter LOVES Sleeping Beauty and had a toy that played the music. When it came our turn to meet Aurora and Prince Stefan, my daughter pushed the button to play the song. Prince Stefan turn to Aurora and said very lovingly "it's our song, darling. Would you like to dance?" She put her hand on his cheek and gazed into his eyes, smiling, then said "perhaps this young princess can stand in for me this once... So Prince Stefan picked up my daughter and they danced around to the song! Then he and Aurora both posed for great pics and signed special messages for my daughter in her book. It was really cool!
The same day, we were in line to meet Belle. Just as our turn came to for my daughter to meet Belle, Cinderella strolled over to where Belle was kneeling down to talk to my daughter. She kneeled down too and put a hand on Belle's shoulder and on my daughter's shoulder, as if in a 'huddle'. I moved in to get a picture, and Cinderella turned to me sweetly and said, "excuse us please. We three are having a princess conference" - and they discussed princess issues, with my daughter participating very seriously in the 'meeting' - I got some wonderful pictures and autographs from that event! And it's cool to see the pics now, because even the people behind, watching this scene, are struck by how special it is - the looks on their faces say AWWWWW!!
We've had many other wonderful encounters too! They really add an extra touch of magic to the visit!

I don't have a picture of this cause it's on video -- which is MUCH better -- but we were in line for the now gone :sad1: :sad1: FOOD ROCKS at Epcot and we saw Timon from Lion King standing in line. He was REALLY still and I knew he was "alive" but my best friend didn't. I motioned for her to go over so I can take some video and as she stood next to him he put his hand on the top of her head (she's really short). Well, she jumped back and screamed like you wouldn't believe. All you hear is me hysterical laughing on the tape and her trying not to utter words that shouldn't be uttered at Disney. :rotfl2:
Edited to add: to the person who said they missed it when the characters roamed freely. I don't. I felt it was more of a free-for-all then where NO one waited their turn and being childless (for now) I felt really embarrassed to go up there if there was a kid waiting. Now at least, it's a line so I feel like if I've waited in line, it's my turn. Know what I mean?

Mine was in Sep of 2005. DH and I were in MGM and stopped by the candy shop, I think on the corner of Sunset Blvd. Anyway, this character came into the shop, and I still have no idea who it was. It was a woman dressed as a little girl, I think she may have had on a pink gingham dress with curly pigtails and talked in very high pitched child’s voice. Anyway, we are from Indiana and DH and on an IU t-shirt. Well this “girl” starts talking about Indiana and how she could not believe that the previous year no Indiana men’s college basketball team made it to the NCAA tournament. She kept going on about how IU, Ball State, Purdue, Indiana State, etc., none of them made it. It was hilarious, because it was all true. I guess you just don’t expect someone dresses as child to be talking about college basketball.

When I was in Tokyo Disney a while back (I was about 16) when I was still going to school in Japan, I had quite a few interactions with characters, when I actually wasn't expecting to get the chance to.
My friend and I had just gotten into the park and in the entrance Robin Hood and Friar Tuck pretty much jumped on top of me. Both of them were rubbing my back and hugging me, and took me arm-in-arm on either side. They kept rubbing my back up and down, and Robin Hood even kept at it rubbing my arm, etc. and followed me as I was trying to leave, like he didn't want to stop touching me. I have to admit, it was fun posing with them, but I was a little creeped out by being molested by the fox.
This interaction didn't happen to me, but I thought it was so sweet to watch anyways. We were passing by the impossibly popular Cinderella and I saw a little girl, about 5 or 6 years old dressed all up as Belle, hair and all. She was so adorable, and Cindy was leaning down and had taken both of her hands and was making conversation with her (in English, as all of the characters must speak it for some reason or another... probably has to do with the copyrighted image or something.) The little girl of course had NO clue what Cindy was saying, but kept looking at her intently and nodded as if she understood every word. It was so cute I felt like I was going to melt.
Later I passed by Cindy again, and she was harshly telling people to wait as the crowd around her got a little rambunxious- they don't do line-ups at Tokyo Disney to see the characters, and I never noticed any CM handlers near-by for any characters (though I might have missed them). Of course some people didn't understand, and Cindy was looking very annoyed and stressed and ready to snap (I have to admit, in Japan people tend to get a little pushy with photo-ops). It was a little strange to see her like that, and I felt bad. She really was trying.
At another time during the day, Wendy ran out followed by Captain Hook, and Peter Pan came out (I swear Peter and Wendy's actors were twins) leaping along the road followed by a bunch of people calling his name. He stopped to take a picture with just me (Just saying "Hello, How are you? Good.") before skipping away again, ignoring everyone else... it was so odd!
Then at Disney Sea the next day, we walked around and found a group standing around a dancing Donald. I didn't really want to wade through the crowd to see him, and me and my friend decided to just stand to the side and take a break. I was watching chip and dale play hide-and-seek with the garbage can flaps with some children nearby, and it was really funny to see their antics. I thought I saw something out of the corner of my eye and jumped to see donald had come up to me to blow me a kiss! I felt really special that while everyone was begging him for a picture, he came to say a quick hello.
The last one was the most special for me. It was the same day as the last one, and me and my friend were getting ready to leave in the next hour or so, and she had to go to the bathroom. She told me to wait by the big globe there, I think it was at the entrance, near the shops. I sat on the wall and watched at quite a distance for a group of characters (I think minnie, goofy, donald, and chip) were of course, swamped with people. I was secretly thinking that I wanted to say "Hi" to one of them, but didn't really want to get involved in the crowd. I then looked the other way and put my chin in my hand as I waited- and jumped when I looked back and saw that somehow Chip had come all the way over, sat next to me, and had started imitating me without me realising it! I must have looked depressed (which I wasn't), because he asked what I was doing just sitting there. Now, I really didn't know if chip spoke English or Japanese, but I was way too shocked to ask. I automatically responded in Japanese and told him that I was waiting for my friend there, but I don't think he understood (or if he did, ignored me), and pushed me off the wall. He got behind me and started pushing me towards the shops and the rest of the park, and pointing in all different directions and showing me allll of the different things I could be doing! The poor chipmunk was trying so hard, that I went to the shops and called my friend's cellphone to let her know where I was, and she laughed when she heard about the special attention I had gotten.
I felt so special, and when I think back on it, I wish I had tried to make more conversation instead of just sitting there, shocked.
I really hadn't expected the characters to take the time out to come over to me. I had gotten lucky so much in those two days, especially since most of the time I was avoiding the crowds, and several characters had come right up to me just to say Hi. I really felt the Disney magic then, and I can't help but wonder if it has something to do with my nationality being not Japanese and standing out or what, though I don't like to think of it that way. I can't wait to go to WDW again (haven't been since I was 7) and see if I can't get some more magical memories!

My strangest was probably one with Tigger several years ago. We were right outside of the Winnie the Pooh ride in MK, and it had broken down. It was still early in the morning, the park (in Fantasyland, at least) was still kinda empty, but there were Pooh Bear and Tigger. My younger sister adores them, and as we went and got autographs and pictures, Tigger pretended to propose to me and kissed me on the nose, ruffled my hair, etc. I was 15 or so at the time, blushing, and having a great time--I don't think we've ever got such interaction--when I kissed Tigger's nose back, he 'fainted'...lol.
Another one I think I've had, not really 'strange' (and I guess not really an interaction with me, as you'll see) but anyways....our very first family trip to Disney, I was 8, and well...not behaving the best. My dad and younger sister went off to get Cinderellas autograph near the castle, while I recieved a very firm talking-to by my Mom. A little while later, we met back up with my dad and sister, and she was going on and on about how great Cinderella was, and I was feeling a little hurt that I hadn't gotten to meet her too. Then my Dad handed me my autograph booked opened to a page--still to this day, I have no idea what he must have said to her, but the page read 'Dreams do come true, Love, Cinderella.' I was touched--I believe that my dad must have mentioned that he had another daughter who wanted an autograph, and she kindly signed mine as well, and said that she had missed seeing me. My mom still says that for the rest of the week, she's never seen me behave so well, as I didn't want to miss anymore characters, haha.

When I was a little kid, I was terrified of Stromboli. I would hide under something and cry if anyone mentioned him. My parents still tease me about it. :rolleyes1 So when my husband and I were at the MK for our honeymoon and we saw Stromboli, we had to get a picture with him.
My sweetheart of a husband walks up and says "Hi Stromboli, my wife is afraid of you." Stromboli turns to me, throws his arms up in the air, and starts chasing me! I might have shrieked a little bit and jumped behind DH. It was a very small shriek! DH, of course, thinks it's the funniest thing he's ever seen. After my heart stopped racing, we took a photo, which I will have to find. DH is all cuddled up to Stromboli and I'm on the other side kind of pulling away from him with a (mostly faked) panicked look on my face. My family thinks it's the greatest photo ever.

I had a few cute interactions on my first trip tp WDW last month...
My autograph book had mickey on the cover and when I asked Minnie for her autograph she kept kissing the book!!
I got blown kisses from Donald and Goofy....oh and the same autograph book with Mickey on the front? Donald "told me off" as he was "No. 1"!!
My DBF gratioulsy kissed Minnie's hand when we met her a 2nd time in the Toontown Fair and she hugged him and wouldn't let go...
I got to kiss Sorcerer Mickey on the nose - it made for one of my favourite pictures of the trip for me!!
I loved the way all the princesses refered to my DBF as my Prince and my Prince Charming....he really is
We didn't get to do any charater meals but hope to pick up more memories of those on our next trip!!
I love reading these posts!!

At the 3 o'clock parade last year on our 1st full day of vacation (we HAD caught the parade the day before at MGM) we were hot, a bit tired, and I was still a bit unsure how the kids would be with the characters (Although they did fine at CP that morning) I stood a bit behind my 2 oldest - DD 5 and DD jsut turned 4 and my DH held the baby - DS 14 months.
Typical mom, I loved to watch the kids watch the characters in the parade. my 5 YO was so entralled with the float/ characters that had just passed that she continued to watch them for quite some time. I guess Rafiki wanted to get some attention, too, and I watched him inch closer and closer to my unsuspecting DD. Just as I was about to warn him to back off a bit so she wasn't scred out of her skin, she turned to see the next float only to be nose to nose with Rafiki. Needless to say she jumped a mile out of her skin, then LAUGHED with a HUGE smile on her face.
I didn't worry about character interaction after that and she STILL talks about how funny it was to have Rafiki scare her!

Minnie saved my family's life in DL.
The following is a accurate, true and unbiased account of events witnessed by Dabby, Tinkershell's DH (most of the time):
The year was 2001 but I remember it like it was yesterday. The day had been long and taxing so we decided to head to Toontown for some autographs.
A number of choice characters had assembled in front of Minnie's abode and Tinkershell and the kids were in the process of ensnaring Pluto in a slowly shrinking circle of extended autograph books and jumbo pens. In their single-minded pursuit of Pluto's paw print, they had blatantly disregarded the clearly posted warnings against standing on the toontown trolley tracks.
I was relaxing on a bench by a fountain when, to my horror, I saw the aforementioned trolley careen around the corner and bear down on my unsuspecting family. In my mind, I sprang to my feet and swept my family to safety. In reality, I'm woefully out of shape and I could tell that by the time I rebuttoned my pants and struggled to my feet, my wife and precious children would be goners.
I was just about to shield my eyes from the inevitable carnage when, literally out of nowhere, Minnie appeared on the scene. In total disregard for her own celebrity safety, that brave and suprisingly stylish mouse stepped in front of that rampaging trolley of death and calmly ushered my family to safety.
As we showered Minnie with thanks, she simply clasped her hands together and did a quick little shake over each of her shoulders in that time honored hero's gesture and then, without ever uttering a word, disappeared back into her home.....and out of my life, forever.
Sure, I've seen Minnie from time to time since then but she never gives any indication that she remembers that fateful day. I'm sure she has her reasons. As for me, I'll always have a special place in my heart for Minnie Mouse.

When we were at the Garden Grill in the Land one of the waiters was trying to move chairs to make up a table for 6. everytime he moved the chair Chip or Dale would move it back! so the waiter with one of the other waitresses tied the chipmonks hands together with their neckercheifs!! not to say once the character handler came round to check he didn't look impressed with chip, Dale or the waiting staff!

We waited in line to meet Sully. When it was our turn Sully was "dancing" by swaying back and forth. My DD went to give him a hug. Sully hugged her and kept dancing. So he was swaying her back and forth too. It was really cute.

The first one happened about 10 years ago I think. My mom took me and my brother to Disney and we were in the MK watching the parade at the time. They had a Hercules float and Hades was standing on it. He pointed right at my mom and motioned for her to go with him. We still joke to this day that Hades was flirting with her!
Second, last September me and DBF were at LTT having dinner before MNSSHP. It was his first trip ever to the world! He was dressed as a vampire (coudln't get him to do anything disney) and goofy kept coming around and biting his neck!

so i know i've had some really interesting interactions with characters but my most memorable character interaction wasn't even with me...
we were at the MNSSHP and walking through Fantasyland when we saw Snow White and all 7 dwarves lined up for pictures. The line was kinda long so we were not going to wait but we did notice a group of guests, that we had seen earlier that night, next in line. We decided to stay and watch the interaction take place because the seven guests in the group each had on a T-shirt with each of the dwarves printed on front. When the 7 dwarves saw these guests, they went absolutely crazy. Each one found their matching counterpart in the group of guests and singled them out, all while staying in character (Grumpy was mad that the guest Grumpy had a shirt like that, etc.) The picture they had taken ended up being so cute but a video would have been even better. I swear it could have been a WDW commercial!

The Mad Hatter was also there, but DD wanted nothing to do with him.:rotfl2: She even asked him not to sign her book and not to be in our picture! Well, he insisted on signing the book anyway, and when it came time for a picture, he climbed into a tree and made sure that he could still be seen in the background. What a card!! ;)

This was not so much strange as embarrassing...
We were at Toontown and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum were in the lobby area. They started picking on my DD who was 4 at the time, scrubbing the top of her head. It made her mad and she kicked one of them in the ankle!

On DD's 5th birthday, we had 2 funny interactions. The first was when she met Chip n Dale in Toontown. I'm not sure why, but they decided that she needed a birthday tickle. And they wouldn't stop!! It was hysterical! :lmao:

This didn't happen in WDW but in DLP. We were eating at cafe micky when Capt. Hook came around. He kept coming back to my table and suddenly he took some paper and a pen and wrote down if I would like to meet up later in one of the bars... I didn't really wanted to cause I had no idea of what this guy looked like in real life. First it seemed like a joke, but he kept saying that he would be off at 11 and then we could meet up... It was so wierd and I didn't do it, but I have now been asked out by Capt. Hook....

This is kinda like one that we had on the last trip
The queen of hearts was signing and when my sister got up there, she had a different signing book sold by disney and there were pictures of other chracters ( mickey, minnie, donald ect)
So the queen took the pen scribbled all over the other chracters then whe would not sign the paper without her bowing and it was just all funny
Good one with Darth Vader:lmao:

I just ran across these pictures and remembered this thread about strange interactions. Several years ago my daughter handed Pinocchio a pen shaped like a little bat to get an autograph. He started pretending to play baseball. The other characters saw him and tried to take the pen away. Pinocchio started running around the tent and Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham started fighting. The next thing we know they're rolling around on the floor. Everybody in the area was laughing. We also have video of it. Here's the pictures.

Mine happened in 2001. My hubby and I were just walking around Epcot one day. Off in the distance Dopey was ending up his greet time and was walking away when all of a sudden Dopey pointed at me. He turned to his spotter, tapped her, then pointed at me and started jumping up and down like a maniac. The spotter told me to come over, Dopey *ran* over to me and met me.
When Dopey got up to me I got one of the biggest bear hugs I have ever gotten. He was jumping and making kissing noises and wouldn't let go of me. He pointed to my hubby and to 'ask' who he was. I told Dopey I was dating him and Dopey clapped and jumped. He grabbed me again into another bear hug and just squeezed. It was weird because I pretty much knew that Dopey KNEW me. Of course, i could not figure out how Dopey and I had known each other. We took some pictures of Dopey hugging me and jumping all over me.
I eventually found out a few years later that a girl I had attended summer camp with had worked at Disney in the entertainment area. She was actually the proper height to be a 'friend' of Dopey. So perhaps I had run across her that day.

:tigger: On our first trip, not quite a Disneymoon, but a few months after we were married, DW & I went to meet the Pooh characters at the meet'n'greet in Toontown, more as a way to get out of the afternoon sun for a while than anything else... we did Tigger first and established a bit of a rapport... I was wearing a tiger t-shirt and we tried to help Tigger and the dad of a little boy who were after us in line, but the little boy was too scared.
We moved on to Pooh, and then were "talking" to Eeyore, we'd given our camcorder to a CM, and suddenly Tigger came running over and slid on the ground, bumped into my legs and almost knocked me over. It's the story we tell most about our trip...
Eight years later, we had told the story of how Tigger bounced Daddy and shown the video to DD, then 3, just prior to her first trip to MK. We did breakfast at CP, and when Tigger got to our table I greetd him like a long lost buddy, asking him if he remembered last time when he bounced me. Tigger stared at the ceiling, scratched his chin and then nodded enthusiastically. DD was completely awestruck, and I still tear up thinking at the look on her face at that moment. Thanks Tigger!! :tigger:

After I took a picture with Piglet I was about to walk away when all of a sudden I kinda bent down and KISSED his nose. I don't know why I did it. Piglet didn't know why I had done it. It was this awkward moment. Of me and the character just staring at each other and then I basically ran away. I was 21 at the time and it was just weird :headache:
Afterwards my mom goes, "...Did you...KISS that costume?"

This was more funny than strange, but quite exciting.
Last year we were walking through the castle, and I was carrying one of my twins who was 3 1/2 at the time. I kept feeling someone tap my shoulder. I figured it was just my DS because he kept saying over and over and over "Mickey, Mommy, Mickey". He kept on laughing too. I just kept saying over and over "Yes we will see Mickey. This kept going on for a few minutes. I just kept on walking the whole time.
Then I noticed people staring at me. Some were pointing at me too. I stopped walking and looked around. Guess who was behind me. It was Mickey!! Mickey was the one who had been tapping me on the shoulder. He had been following us. My DS said, "See Mommy I told you... It's Mickey". Mickey then gave my DS a high five and a thumbs up.
My DS says now... Remember Mommy when Mickey was following us.

Not really a strange interaction as much as a funny one. I decided to get autographs of the charcters and bought an autograph book and one of those oversized pens. First characters of the day were Chip and Dale. Chip signed fine and I moved onto Dale, as he went to sign the pen broke, without missing a beat Dale walked over to a cart in MK put the broken pen in a display cup and signed with a brand new pen and then gave me that pen! I went to pay for it and Dale stopped me and motioned for me not to pay.
It was real cool!
Disney Rocks!!!!:thumbsup2

This is not entirely a Disney character story but a few years ago when my oldest ds was 2 we went to WDW, bought the autograph book and the big pen with the Mickey Head on top. So after a few days of getting Disney characters' autographs we spent a day Universal Studios. My son wanted to have the characters there autograph his book too, so we used the same Mickey pen and autograph book. So we go to get Mr. Grinch's autograph and he took one look at the Mickey head pen and then wiped his butt with it. It was so funny. He was so into character. My ds had no idea why he was doing that.

In March of 2004, my DD8 was having her picture taken with Stitch at AK. As my DH goes to take the picture, Stitch sticks his finger up in his nose. My daughter doesn't see this or when whe walked away he "wiped" his finger on her back. It was so funny - my DD and I laughed and showed her what he had done on the digital camera. .

I don't know if it constitutes "strange" but my father tells me that when I was 3 he took me to WDW, and that he was trying to get me with Mickey to get a photograph. Being a single father it wasn't easy, so he set me behind where Mickey was standing, and ran back to get the shot. He says that he called out, "Hey Mickey, look behind you!" and Mickey turned and played with me for about a minute and a half, allowing my father to snap many wonderful photos (I have to try and get them from him).
The neat part of the story is that apparently, a month or so later my grandmother took me to the mall one weekend and they had a small Disney parade. I saw Mickey leading the parade and said to my grandmother something like "Look, it's Mickey. Do you think he'll remember me?"
Well, wouldn't you know, Mickey, by some stroke of chance or cooincidence, came right over to me, and patted me on my head and I went crazy with the "He remembered me!! He remembered me" for hours. Apparently it made my year, and I'm told that my undying love of Disney World stems from that moment. I can believe it :goodvibes

I was at Hong Kong Disneyland, trying to get an autograph collection started. But looking at the princesses in front of the castle, I thought about how boring it must get having pictures taken with people who dont speak English and neither know nor care who you're supposed to be. So when my turn came to meet Snow White, I introduced myself and as innocently as I could, asked her "Do they call you Snow White because you have dandruff?"
She started to laugh for moment at the sheer unexpectedness of it, and then regained her composure and began to tell me the origin of her name (which I already knew, but decided not to say anything).
I didn't about it again for while. Then, on the next day (or the same one? I forget) I got my picture taken with Aurora. As she was signing my autograph book, she asked me for my name (so she could sign it to "Prince So-And-So"). When I told her, she told me without missing a beat "Oh, Snow White told me about you! Don't worry, she doesn't have dandruff!"
This totally caught me off guard. I'm completely sure that the friend of Snow White wasn't also a friend Sleeping Beauty in this instance.
I was almost too embarrassed at this point to face another princess that day, but the Disney nut in me just had to get Cindy's autograph. I told myself that there was no way something like that was going to happen again. Sure enough, after I had my picture taken, she asked me if my name was So-And-So. Embarrassed, I told her it was. She then proceeded to remind me that Snow White washes her hair very thoroughly.
If nothing else, that totally made my trip. It was so cool how after I had given someone a funny and unexpected moment, I got two back. Gotta love that Disney magic!

I have 2-
When I was little (i'm guessing it was one of my first trips so maybe i was 2 or 3..) my family went to the Hoop dee doo revue- now i dont' remember any of this but my mom tells me this story all the time. I had my Minnie Mouse dress on and one of the girls from the show (I believe it was the Claire) came up to me and said "You have Minnie's dress on! What's she wearing?!" Supposedly everyone around laughed. I think it's one of my Mom's favorite Disney memories.
Second- this one is just a CM but was too funny for us to not tell- We were going on the Haunted Mansion in WDW. Now we had just found out that the stretching rooms at DL and WDW are different- one the floor goes down, one the ceiling goes up. My mom really wanted to figure out which one it was and so she kept staring at the ceiling and walls. Unknown to her, the CM working the room was moving towards her. He got right next to her ear and whispered "Find something interesting madaam?" She jumped sky high and let out a shriek. He then just moved away ominously... :) it was too funny and to this day we watch our backs when we're in the stretching room!

While in high school and college, I attended Disneyland frequently with my annual pass.
One afternoon ride in the Haunted Mansion is one I'll never forget...
While in my doom buggy with my friend, we cruised backwards through the hall of doors as is the process in that ride. Photos peered at us, doors knocked and breathed, and statues stared as usual. We passed by the knight in shining armor when, out of nowhere, he lunged at us -- reaching into our doom buggy and scaring the pants off of both of us!!! Not a fan of anything scary or any incident that causes me to jump, I screamed and yelled, flailing my arms around frantically at the poor actor, hitting him several times. Lucky for him he had is armor on...
Still, I was left wondering how it was possible -- I'd never had that experience at Disney before!
I later learned that the "live" knight in Disneyland's Haunted Mansion was only implemented for a few short months in the park's history. The poor knight actors were assaulted numerous times by unsuspecting riders who "freaked out" when approached by this out-of-place character-come-to-life. The live knight was soon eliminated from the Haunted Mansion ride.
While it scared me to the bone -- and I still have a hard time riding through that corridor in the ride with my eyes open -- I am extremely happy to have experienced one of Disney's very brief but impactful park experiences!

LOL! I guess that is why the character WAS A man in Armor, he needed all the protection!

Not exactly a character interaction but the first time I went to Disney I was 10 going on 11 I think for my birthday and I was scared of flying. So my parents decided to take Amtrak down to florida on a sleeper train. It was fun and our porter was a man from Yugoslavia and he started practically every sentence with "Only in America..."
Well when we were down there my mom bought me a black and white polka dot dress that had a sunflower on it and one of my birthday presents was a large stuffed animal of the dalmation Perdita from One Hundred & One Dalmations. On the day we were leaving we got back on the train and I was carrying Perdy and wearing my polka dot dress.
Guess who was our porter on the train again? And do you know what the first thing he said was? "Only in America could a girl dress like her pet pooch!"
Well, I just thought that was the funniest thing ever. It still makes me chuckle when I go in the attic and see Perdy sitting on the shelf.

I really think character interactions have changed drastically in the past few years, and not for the better, with less spontaneous interactions and too many "meet and greets." But we have several fond memories --
went with our two kids when they were little -- 1 and 4. At (then) MGM, they were doing the Toy Story parade, and Toy Story was my oldest son's favorite. During the parade, the red monkeys rolled right up to him and patted him on the head and the toy soldiers stopped in front of him and saluted. At Chef Mickey's on that same trip, Mickey came up and took my son's "blankie" and held it and sucked his thumb just like my son did.
And in another memorable trip a couple of years later, DH and the boys were walking around tomorrowland discussing if they should go on Space Mountain. The Mad Hatter came up, grabbed their arms, and said very seriously (and imagine the lisp), "Sthpath Mountain, Sthpath Fountain. You're going on the Teacupth!" and started to drag them off.
The Red Queen took my son's autograph book and walked off with it -- it took us several minutes and quite a bit of groveling to get it back.

Last month, while at WDW, I was determined to find Mike and Sully for a picture. I had decided that I wanted to stand in front of Mike for the pic - as in Monsters Inc., every time he has his picture taken something is covering up the front of him.
So, that was my plan... but things didn't go to plan. I walk up and Mike makes a big deal of looking me up and down... and then he proceeds to move in front of me. He stole my idea! He stood in front of me to block me out of the picture. I was never able to move in front of him - he wouldn't let me.

It's safer this way though, and easier for people to meet their favorite characters.
But I don't think character interaction has gone down just because they have set spots. I've had plenty of memorable ones myself in set spots.

I love this thread and I have had several memorable moments with the characters over the past few years. Here are some of my favs:
Stitch took off DS's hat and threw it down, then grabbed the autograph book and threw it as well. Lilo was so upset, but you know how Stitch can be! :stitch: They were both so in character!
Next was with Hook and Captain Smee. DS was really into pirates at the time and had on a gold coin pirate necklace. Hook made a big deal over this and really wanted DS to give it to him. Then he kept hitting DH (not hard) once he saw there was a Peter Pan pin on his lanyard. Smee just kept making googly eyes at me and trying to put his arm around me.:rotfl:
Then there was Chef Mickeys where Goofy kept stealing DS's food and sticking it in his pocket. DS was actually kind of annoyed, but we thought it was hilarious.
Oh and when we saw Pluto, DS asked we he kept making those phht (fart) sounds when they aren't supposed to talk.
