Just back from a partially solo trip.
I got to spend a bit over 24 hours by myself before my friends came.
We split up during the day and just met up for dinner and Jellyrolls at night.

What I liked about solo/time alone:

walking around the boardwalk jammin' out to my mp3 player and just soaking up the sun
sitting on the deck reading
eating when/if I wanted to
being able to run everday to cool new places for as long as I wanted
meeting new people, and hanging out with old friends down there "whenever"
most important... I was able to reflect on myself and get "focussed"

bummer stuff -
missed dd, especially when I got on the plane (I almost got off)

I loved eating at ESPN as a solo. I mostly ate in, so didn't do any real restaurants

Glad to hear that you had a great time. I finally made up my mind to take a solo trip (will make the reservations tomorrow) and I am still a bit nervous about the decision. Your post makes me feel a little better!

Solo is swell! I think its important that we solo travelers let others know how much fun it can be by spreading the word. Write a trip report...even if it's short. I did and have been pleasantly surprised by how many people have read it! :cool1:

Glad you had a good time on your own! :thumbsup2

Solo is a total blast. The first time I went solo was when I was 19. I loved it so much that I did 2 weeks solo last summer (20yrs then). When I got onto the hot seat in WWTBAM the cm (Trudy I believe) just couldn't believe that I was all by myself and I got the biggest appluse ever.

Doing what you you want when you want is great, although I do like having someone to share my memories with.

I've done solo trips to Disney World 4 times (with the 5th coming up in November). As much as I enjoy going with family, I enjoy going solo just as much. You get the freedom to go where you want, when you want. Dine where & when you want and so on.

I love going to WDW solo! Call me crazy, but I enjoy solo trips more than trips with family. I'm going again solo in May, and I can't wait!

You're not going totally solo.... I'll see you there

ESPN is the coolest place to eat. TVs, PS2, good food at a good price :thumbsup2

I usually love my solo trips but this one was different for some reason. First, I didn't feel well and I think I was (and am) dealing with a mild case of depression. The lines were long, long, long and since I had seen most everything before I couldn't get the motivation to stand and wait. I even got a Fastpass for Soarin' when I first got into Epcot at about 10 AM and it was for 6 PM. I got to 5:30 and just didn't have the energy to wait another half hour. I had seen Soarin' in California last October so I never got to Epcot's.

Second, I couldn't help but remember my family trips with my kids and the fun we had and I guess I was just feeling sorry for myself and looking backwards instead of ahead. It made me sad.

I had been on 5 previous solo trips and had a great time. I guess I was just in a better place at that time. Having done it before I knew how much fun I had just doing what I wanted, when I wanted so that is what I was expecting again. Don't get me wrong, for the most part, I still had a good time but my brain was preventing my aging body from having a great time.

:sad2:  :upsidedow

This is so true! :thumbsup2

I just got back from my very 1st solo trip to the World. Now, I knew I would like it, I just had not idea how MUCH I would like it!!! :rotfl2: Didn't have to answer to a single sole for 6 days... did what I wanted, when I wanted. :goodvibes

Best moment: I got to EPCOT early to snag a fastpass for Soarin' and went to Imagination to ride Figment while I waited. Not only was there no line, the only ones there were the 2 CM's! Well, one of them says, 'how many" and I sheepishly respond "1". Well, such the gnetleman he is! Walks over, extends his arm and says, "let me escort you to your chariot m'lady!" I sit down up front in the first car and get to ride it all by myself!! :teeth:
It was definitely a first and such a hoot! :lmao:

In August I'll be returning with DD (19) and I'm already trying to figure out how to get some "alone" time. :teeth:

Glad to hear that going solo is a positive experience.. I just got back from WDW with DD8, DS12 and DD14, and we had a good time, but honestly I got tired of listening to their bickering.. I am honestly contemplating saving up for a solo trip.. maybe just 4 days or so and doing what I want to do and just take it all in.. Sounds like this would be something Id like..

keep the solo reports coming! i am heading down soon for my first ever solo trip and am constantly flipping between nervousness and excitement. i love reading about what people liked about their solo trip. today, i am filled with the excitement side and regretting only booking a 4 day trip (nervous side). the past 2 weeks i have been trying to change my plane ticket and add on days to the trip.
