I need to see how many, if any, are still interested in this event. Its a minimum charge of $19.50 for the desserts + a $200 venue fee --which will be divided up with all attending.
They do have 9/30 open and it would last 8:30-9:30. Im waiting a sample menu.
Please do not just vote in the poll, also add your name to the thread so I can keep track of who is actually interested.
Here's who I have so far:

What's involved besides just getting to eat lots of desserts?
Is this where they block off either the area near R&K or in Italy?

Yes it will be a blocked off area by Rose & Crown.

I'm a definite yes. I want to watch Illuminations. This way I wouldn't have to stake out a spot early or watch behind bunches of other people.

So we're looking at maybe $40 for dessert? I think I'll just eat mine at Le Cellier.

We did this last year. The best part (other than the white chocolate slippers filled with chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries) was having the private space to watch Illuminations without staking out a spot hours earler and fighting the crowd. If you don't like Illuminations it's not that big of a deal, but if you love the show it is a really special way to see it. The dessert is just, well, dessert!

OMG, I want the slipper.

Yeah, it is GOOD! I think each party gets to pick their own menu. We also had tons of chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies, brownies, popcorn, soda, water & iced tea. I think there were some other pastries but the crowd was a ravening hoard so I just grabbed my slipper and got out of the way!

Zip, love the dog with the sunglasses. Is he famous and hiding from the paparazzi?

That's just Jake having fun on the lake! He's not mine, but I do puppy-care for him when his dad goes away. The other one is mine, that's Zander, also known as zippeedee!

I voted no, but I changed my mind and can't change my vote.
So, put down another two for yes.

Here's the thing. Its $40! And I've never staked out a spot hours before, I just walk up and watch from what I suppose others would believe to be less desirable locations, particularly during a slower period like September. Not to mention, we'll be eating at the F&W, and the dinner plan already has tons of food.
So, I'm still out.

if it will be $250 split between all of us plus the $20 for the desserts, i don't know if i am in.
what could be the max each would pay then?
how many do you need to make it affordable for the group?

I haven't voted yet because I cannot decide. The price seems high for a poor girl like me especially when I want to do MNSSHP the next night and have to pay for that still.
Deena when I asked for info this is what they sent me: The price varies depending on which desserts you want. Unless they told you different.

Thanks Beth. the guy hadnt sent the menu's. I agree it is expensive but I have never done one of these for the food, I have just done them to meet up with friends.
Mac--its $200 that is going to be split up not $250--the $250 is the deposit.
There is always the GG Fireworks Voyage and watch Wishes. Its around $35 a person also with a dessert party before and its lots of fun.

That's just it, I don't think we need another "event" to meet up with people, not when we are paying to be there in the first place. $200 divided by x plus $20 is more than I want to pay. So is $35 for a boat ride and dessert. For that money I'll make dessert for you!!

I've also voted no. Just a little too pricey for me. And I wasn't planning on doing Illuminations, I really want to go to MK & see SpectroMagic.

I voted no because of a few reasons:
1-This trip is a retirement gift to my Mom and she has never seen Spectro or Wishes -this is one of her request, so I'm going to take her.
2-I've now decided to go to MNSSHP, so I'm already paying for an extra event.I can't do another.
3-I feel like on the DP I'm going to have enough to eat (and then lose) so I certainly don't need any more desserts-but can someone please eat a slipper for me-I've always wanted to try one.

First of all I want to say thank-you to Deena for all her hard work on researching this. I know that's not easy to do. Trust me, I know. :teeth:
And I hope that all of you who are going have a blast!!
I voted no for myself, not because of lack of interest but lack of funds. I have not found any airfare deals so I am looking at around $400 for that and I have now added MNSSHP which I wasn't doing before.
Just broke, pure and simple. Have a fun though. :sunny:

Im going to keep the poll open a smidge longer but it looks like its off. I just dont think we are going to have the numbers to have it.
The main purpose of having it was just to hang with everyone and we are doing that anyway.

Thanks for trying. I also thought it would be fun to be with evryone and watch Illuminations.
One time we ate at Rose & Crown during the show. It was so nice to have a good place to watch it. Last year I waited with evryone else on the sidewalk and it wasn't the same. :sad1:

I'm going to vote no as well, even if I do get to go on the trip. I'd rather save the money and grab our own desserts from the F&WF or WS. Plus, I don't think the view from R&C is the best available, and I like to be open to pick where to stand depending on the wind direction that day.

deena, why don't you open up to the general dis public to fill the spots that is needed.
that is how i crossed over to one last year. the group needed more people and posted on line and took in 5 strangers.
