Are you allowed to use AAA on magic your packages? We where thinking of joining AAA for our trip, and wondered if it was worth it?

It was my understanding that AAA gets a discount ont the room portion of the package. We booked through AAA and saved $$$ but we were already members. I would think it would be worth it.

The discount is on the room portion only. We saved a little over $300 with our AAA membership, plus what we were already saving on our rental car.

OK I am still a little confused! Can they give the discount on your room even with your magic your package?

I got 15% (I think) off our room only (deluxe resort, value season). I have a package, with 7 day hopper tickets and the dining plan, but the tix and dp are full price. If you want a package with the AAA discount, it has to be booked through a AAA TA. Room only can be booked through Disney or other TA.

Thanks for all the AAA info. I am not sure that booking a package through them is the best thing however, or using it for a room portion. For our Feb 2005 trip which we booked in July we had the old package before Magic your way. When we originally booked in July the room rate was $77 a night. Thanks to a great tip in a book called Disney World With Kids, I called in November and asked for a winter rate for the room, which dropped it to $55 a night! I don' t think you would be able to do that with AAA. I will say that is is worth joining AAA just for the reduces rate for Amtrak, plus the coverage on our minivan, which is 1998 and currently has 114,000 miles on it and frankly driving from Upstate NY to Virgina make me a little nervous!

DH and I booked both our trips this year with AAA....if a code comes out that would save you even more money, they will try and apply it to what you booked through AAA.
