Can anyone give me a recommendation for a hotel for Discovery Cove? I have a reservation at the Renaissance Hotel but read some bad reviews. It's pretty expensive, so I'm wondering if there are any lower price options for just 2 nights.

We just checked in today at the Residence Inn Seaworld. So far, it's absolutely fabulous. I think I got a AAA rate of around $160 per night. We have a beautiful 1 bedroom suite with 2 queen beds in the bedroom, a spacious bathroom, a full kitchen and a living area with a sofa bed and chair. There is a TV in the bedroom and another in the living area.

We spent some time after dinner in the pool/hot tub. There is also a playground, a basketball court and a sand volleyball court near the pool area.

Every morning there is a full, hot breakfast bar that is complimentary. And it's just right down the street from Sea World and Discovery Cove. Plenty of free parking.

Any other specific questions, let me know. I'll try to get online again tomorrow night after Discovery Cove.

The Renaissance is the closest hotel to SWF, literally across the street. I've never heard of bad reviews here, so it's surprising to hear otherwise. We stayed there once on club level and had a great stay.

I can tell you the other hotels close by.
There's the Hilton Garden Inn, located next to the Renaissance.

There is the Hilton Grand Vacation Club.

Next is the Sheraton World Resort. Go here, type in Orlando, then look for World because the link is so long after the search.

I'd say the Sheraton is a little bit farther away than the Hilton, but not by much. It's about a 10 minute walk with kids, I'm sure they can do it.

Thanks to ShannonRT. I just changed my reservation to the Residence Inn and think we will be much happier with a suite, plus the breakfast is a money saver as well as saving $250 on the reservation compared to Renaissance.

You are lucky to have Discover Cove today with the temp showing as 86. We are going on Saturday, with a projected high of 72 and low of 49. I think we will freeze our butts.

You're very welcome. Discovery Cove was awesome today. It was warm and sunny, but very, very windy. The water in the dolphin pool and the coral reef was chilly, but we got used to it fairly quickly. It was a wonderful day, but we're exhausted.

I hope you have wonderful weather on Saturday. You may want to definitely get the short wet suit.
