Got my docs today!!!:cool1:

Is anyone sending a box ahead of time? How long before the cruise should I do it? We have a DS 1 1/2 and we want to send the diapers, wipes, sippy cups etc ahead of time instead of lugging it all with us!

should be getting docs tomorrow. also have to bring the med papers to my OB so they can get filled out and then sent cause apparently they need to be faxed 14 days before trip.
Had a few questions...anyone been preggers on a cruise before and what kinda stuff could u do? I will be just about 12 weeks along and am not exactly sure what i can do. I wanted to feed stingrays and snorkel but im not sure if im able to. I m pretty sure i cannot jetski ...which im not particularly happy bout lol. I plan on asking my dr, but my appt isnt until 3 days before we leave and i would rather have some plans.

SamIAm21
10-15-2007, 08:54 PM
Veronica,

I don't think you'll have a problem feeding the stingrays in Grand Cayman at all because the water is waist deep and you'll be able to stand. If you are feeding them on Castaway Cay, I think you'll only be knee deep... shouldn't be a problem. If you are going on any "boat" excursions, I guess you'll have to make sure the sea is calm, as I'm sure you won't want to be bounced around.

Jet-skiing, probably not. Snorkeling should be no problem as there are no pressure problems that would be a problem if you were SCUBA diviing. Snorkeling is just swimming, usually slowly, and salt water is extremely buoyant and makes swimming a lot easier actually. Of course, I'm just speculating and I would run everything by your OB/GYN.

I also got my Docs today, Now to get everything organized, I am sending a box to the port with all the miscellaneous stuff, like the over the door shoe holder, powerstrip, laundry tabs, wrinkle release, air freshner and of course the costumes. Hi Everyone!
Got the suitcases out & started putting everything out. I am already done with DS7 clothes. they are all ready to go. We got the kids their suits, they wiil look so cute with jacket & ties. I still don't have a dress. I'll go look next week.
My DS11 decided to start packing his own suitcase, lol, I just have to make sure what is in there.
Going to get the kids thier costumes tonight & maybe look for something for myself. I might even have DH thinking about dressing up for MNSSHP on halloween. I saw that it is sold out.
DS7 wants to be jengo fett (don't know if they will have that so he may have to settle with boba fett or a storm trooper) DS11 wants to be scream. :scared1:
I was Madonna last year for school, I was thinking maybe a pirate then maybe it can double for pirate night.
We did book the Mexican cusine Workshop & tasting for DH & myself in Cozumel. It sound like fun.
I think we might just get a cab to 7 mile beach in cayman & walk around key west (check out the butterfly conservatory & get a late lunch.
I can't wait!! Just have to remember to send in letters to the kids teachers, DS11's won't be too happy, he is in middle school & they really frown on family vacations durig school year
Can't wait to play bingo!!!!

Just called to find out what movies are playing on our cruise.
(888-325-2500)
The Disney lady said this is what they have, but it was not updated since Sept 21 and any premieres will also happen on the ship.

Wild Hogs
Meet the Robinsons
Bridge to Terabithia
POTC III
Invincibles
Ratatouille
The Game Plan
Underdog

Anyone know if Disney has anything else coming out soon?

Touchstone is releasing Dan in Real Life but it doesn't look like a movie they would use as a premiere. Enchanted comes out Nov. 21st, too late for us. Disney usually has a new kids release the first week of November but not this year.

ENCHANTED

In this part-animated, part-live-action romantic fable, a beautiful princess named Giselle is banished by an evil queen from the cartoon world to gritty present-day New York City. There, she must rescue herself and find true love. After undergoing eight years worth of rewrites, the project finally was filmed spring 2006 with Disney veteran Kevin Lima in the helm. Lima is no stranger to either medium; he began his career working on story for Oliver & Company and Aladdin, moved onto directing "Goof Troop", its big screen spin-off A Goofy Movie, and Tarzan, and most recently has been in the director's chair for live action fare including 102 Dalmatians and the two Eloise TV movies.

Enchanted's cast includes Amy Adams as Princess Giselle, Susan Sarandon as the wicked Queen Narissa, James Marsden as the seemingly perfect Prince, and Broadway actress Idina Menzel. Former '80s icon and current "Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey plays a single father (love interest, anyone?) who helps Giselle find her way around New York. The script in use is credited to Bill Kelly, who wrote the well-received 1999 romantic comedy Blast From the Past. While originally announced as being part CG-animation, it was later determined that 2-D animation would be employed for the fairy tale world scenes. This, coupled with the fact that the film is intended to feature six songs written by Stephen Schwartz (Pocahontas) and composed by Alan Menken (Aladdin, The Little Mermaid), is rightfully leading many to consider this a callback of sorts to Disney's animation renaissance of the late '80s/early '90s.

This one looks too far out but wouldn't it be great!:

NATIONAL TREASURE: THE BOOK OF SECRETS (National Treasure 2)

Even with the mostly golden track record of producer Jerry Bruckheimer (who had thrice topped the $100 million mark for Disney branches with Nicolas Cage in a leading role), nobody quite expected National Treasure to perform as well with audiences as it did. Feeling more like Bruckheimer's Touchstone fare than the Walt Disney Pictures label it was moved to at the last moment, the PG-rated action flick narrowly claimed the #1 box office spot in November 2004 and held onto it for three straight weeks. It would end up with $173 million domestically and a tiny bit more overseas, easily making it one of the year's top-grossers. Despite an alternate ending that was dropped because it suggested a sequel, that's exactly what the producer intends to make now that filming of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (the third and, for the moment, final chapter in that even more profitable Disney/Bruckheimer franchise) has wrapped.

Director Jon Turtletaub and star Nicolas Cage are expected to return, as are supporting cast members Justin Bartha, Harvey Keitel, Jon Voight and Diane Kruger, while Greg Poirier (the forthcoming Swiss Family Robinson remake discussed directly above) is currently credited with the screenplay, though others may still have a hand in it (the first film gave writing credits to five individuals). Thus far, plot particulars remain guarded, but one assumes viewers can expect to see some more treasure hunting. According to Bruckheimer, the hunt will center on eighteen pages missing from the journal of presidential assassin John Wilkes Booth. Production begin January 2007, with the film's predictably potent opening scheduled for December 21, 2007.

It's the only time my DH will wear matching clothing. :rotfl2: Also, if'd you like, please bring a little item for the grab bag (bring an item, take an item) I thought it might be fun. They do screen new movies when they are released on the Friday before or the Friday you are on the ship. If it is the Friday before you will see it on Pirates night in the theatre as a PremEAR at sea. If the movie comes out on Friday while you are on the ship you will see it at Midnight Friday morning and then the will play it a couple times during the day when the ship is at Castaway Cay. They will not show any movie at all before it is released into the theatres. They definitely won't be showing Enchanted. What they would do is show the most current movie that they have release that is now probably The Game Plan in the Walt theatre before the Pirate Party. All 5 of the last NJ week cruises had a new release movie PremEaring on the ship but I think with The Bee movie coming out they must have pushed back the release for the Disney movie.

Hello all! Our family of 3 just found out we will be on the November 3rd sailing. We have wanted to cruise with Disney for a very long time. This cruise is our 13 year old sons "wish trip", made possible by the "Make A Wish" folks. He's so excited to be going that I'm almost glad we have such short notice! That being said, I have no idea when to expect documents. I have read the packing list thread, but other than that I am clueless as to what to expect. So, we would appreciate any suggestions. Hope to meet some of you all in a few weeks!

WOW Thanks muches for the responses! Yes, Make a Wish is a great organization, and we are so blessed by their generosity. We will be limited by our sons exercise tolerance anyway, so there is no way we could do it all. In fact, we probably won't even get off the ship except briefly in the ports. Does anyone know if the ship docks or tenders to the ports? Also, how strict are the kids areas regarding age groupings. Our "Big Dave" is 13, but in many ways he is much more like an 8-10 year old..and he is very small, only 64 pounds. The only port we tender at is Grand Cayman. I'm sure if you talked with a supervisor from the kids clubs you could make arrangements for your son.

The DIS color is lime green. So just look for me and my family, we will be wearing bright lime green Disney t-shirts. I also asked everybody if they wanted to wear lime green or a name tag so you could be identified. Also, if your interested we are going to do a grab bag game. If you want to, bring a little Disney item, everybody that comes to the meet and brings something will drop it into the bag, then when you leave you get to take something out of the bag. I just thought it might be fun! Look forward to meeting you.

Love, love, love the fish extender idea! I saw that thread earlier but never read it because I was afraid it was about stuff they put in the food. How silly...oh well, what can you expect from a "newbie"? Now I've just got to get busy and find one for our room, only 2 weeks to go! Is there a place I'd need to register to be involved in the fish extender game?

Glad to hear there is only 1 tender port. Hubby and I hadn't planned on leaving our son to go off ship. We didn't even make ressies for Palo or the spa. This is our sons trip...so we are there for family time..just the 3 of us. But, I know our son would get a kick out of the little extras I'm learning about.

Getting more excited every day!

I am a newbie also at this, but I just purchased my fish extender on ebay item # 320171510615 hope this helps. Also quick question for everyone, How many grab bag gifts do I purchase? Do you give one per family or are you including all the kids? I have to go out today or tomorrow and get those along with finding something lime green.

Scrapping cruisers!!! I've pulled together 11 awesome 2 page layout kits (22 pages in all!) for the cruise, but I need an opinion or two (or three!) I'm trying to think of a nice title for the "formal night" layout. I was trying to avoid the obvious: "formal night" or "all dressed up". Any ideas of what you might like to see?

I am a newbie also at this, but I just purchased my fish extender on ebay item # 320171510615 hope this helps. Also quick question for everyone, How many grab bag gifts do I purchase? Do you give one per family or are you including all the kids? I have to go out today or tomorrow and get those along with finding something lime green.

As far as the grab bag, that's up to you. I figured whoever brings something, gets to take something. If you want to bring just one item, or if you want to bring more than one item, whatever works for you.

Okay. Clueless here.

What price range are we talking about here? I saw some cute Tinkerbelle stuff for $1 and a Disney stuffed toy for $5. Or are we talking about the $10 grab bag gifts like we have at work?

Sorry to be specific, but I don't want to get something really nice and then stress about the "cheapie" item I gave to the group. (Yeah, I stress about that sort of thing. It messes with my vacation psyche.) Sad, huh?

Please don't stress over it, we have enough of that with getting ready for the trip. I am so not ready!

Can you get an upgrade after you get your luggage tags?? Because at this point, I would love an upgrade, but I'd be afraid my luggage would get a little misdirected...

Someone told me that if you ask at the check in desk if there are any upgrades for a decent price, you might be able to pay just $100 or $200 more for the next category up. But, I'd wig out over my luggage getting to the right cabin at that point. My stickers say 2564, so that's where I'm going I guess!

The last time my DH and I sailed on RCL, we were in a Grande Suite and this time we are at the bottom of the boat! Boy we bounce around!!

Usually once the documents are sent free upgrades don't happen. If you want an upgrade when you get to the port and have already checked your bags with a different room number on them your bags will be delivered to your new room. I've read people who said they got their bags at the normal time, some a little late and some who went to their old room number and found the bags outside the door. I wouldn't worry about the luggage. It will be on the ship and it will make it's way to you Go for the upgrade if you can get a good deal.

Maybe we should do a dis boards meet at the blond giraffe, lol.
I still need clothes, ugh, I found an awesome dress on nordstrom.com but when I went to store they didn't have it, guess it wasn't meant. Going to check out jackson outlet to see if by chance any stores have shorts left on sales rack. I am sure the malls don't have any shorts left whatsoever.
At least I got the kids costumes & they are pretty much set with clothes.
I just made my HC appt for Monday & my nail maintenance is friday (chiropracter, too), probably just a polish change on toes since last time I had a pedicure right before getting to the parks, my feet were tender since they buffed away everything, lol.
We leave next wednesday YEAH!!!!!! :cool1:

ALSO...I've put together an awesome set of scrapbook layouts! There are 22 pages (Title, Welcome Aboard, Key West, Sea, Just Beachy, Viva Mexico, Ocean Vistas, Castaway Cay, Pirate, Elegance at Sea, Quite a Character, and a 'Til We Meet Again pocket page) and will come in 12x12 page protectors. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED in having a good start to your scrapbook done before you even get home, please let me know ASAP. I am bringing the kits/scrapbooking supplies onboard and will be happy to meet with you to show you how it's done or if you want, can make the pages up for you. I'll also be able to ship these home for you so you don't have to deal with trying to pack it in your luggage.

Please PM me for more details. I'll have photos of the layouts in a few days that I can send you.

It's the Pirate Soul museum at Key West, so Sunday. They offer the same scavenger hunt that DCL has for their excursion as a "field trip" and it's quite a bit of savings. The lady I contacted said we'd talk figures when I got her some numbers, but the website advertises something like $7 per student. We can't go between 1-230 as that is when DCL does theirs and it takes up the museum's resources.

okay, i just need some DIS moral support because DH's answers is "just pack". He doesn't understand that it is ME who is responsible for all of the extra "stuff" we ALL will need and USE!!

Up until now I figured i'd get stuff together, go over my check list and done. HA HA HA!

now i'm reading major checklists that say all of these things i didn't think of (like a compass) and now i'm questioning myself - "well, one more little thing won't take up that much room".

i need fellow DIS to talk me down. it's not like we've never been to WDW before and cruised last year. i'm just a little overwhelmed.

DH is wonderful, but the fact remains that he needs to pack for himself, i.e., his OWN toothbrush, his OWN toiletries, etc.

thanks for letting me vent. i'll be here waiting with my piles of stuff...:rolleyes1

Myself on the other hand just started getting stuff together last night and I kept saying to DH, I am overwhelmed with all this stuff. I think you need to just "think" about what you are going to be doing excursion wise, etc., and decide what you might need. I can't even begin to think of why you might need a compass, unless you just like charting a course while you are out at sea.

I like those packing lists, but I also cross off a lot of things I know for sure I won't use!

DH will pack on Friday, November 2nd and not a minute earlier. I'm used to it. He figures whatever he forgets, he didn't need much anyway. This is his mode... he pulls out seven pair of socks, seven days worth of underwear, seven shirts, seven pairs of pants that will "match", his dop kit is always "supplied" and off he goes. I have packed his suit, tie, and belt already, so he just needs to do the basics. I've been packed more or less for three weeks... I'm ready to go... NOW!!

Actually this year is the first time we are taking a shoe organizer. The last 2 years I never took one and always felt that counters and desktops were always so messy. So we'll so how it goes. I paid 88 cents for it and it is going in the trash when I'm done with it, one less thing I need to bring home.

I got it at an Odd Lot store in the Poconos over the summer, was in the Poconos for the day, stopped in just to look around and came across it and said I'm going to put this away for the cruise. I know people on here have said they got them at Walmart pretty cheap and at the dollar stores too.

i have 2 more questions:
1-do you really do laundry on the cruise? we didn't last year, but now I'm thinking maybe i should bring a travel size of detergent. any suggestions?; and
2-do you bring an extension cord for hair dryer, etc.? the only thing i disliked in the cabin was that darn hair dryer - the handle got too hot and couldn't hold it after a short while. thought i'd bring my own w/an extension cord...

We are not packed. The suitcases are still in the attic. We have no lists. Yet, I'm sure all will be done before we have to leave for the airport on Nov. 2nd.

After numerous cruises, we have found that we pack and take less each time we go. Our family is pretty easy-going and laid back. No shoe holders or fish extenders. We've never done laundry on the ship. Most of our days are spent in a bathing suit and cover up. We take enough underwear for the whole trip, but I can't guarantee we won't wear some clothes more than once - especially if they were only worn for an hour or two.

As long as we remember all the suitcases (we forgot the garment bag hanging on our bedroom door one time), cameras and tickets, I consider us ready to go.

The only "extras" worth packing are a nightlight (cabins with no porthole or verandah can get pretty dark at night) and a small air freshener (helps in close quarters).

Lots of schoolwork to do before we go and we've got to get our work in order so we can be away for a week.

Can't wait!

When I stressed out about packing the first couple years my DH would say this also but.... there are no Walmarts in the middle of the ocean. It's easy to say but don't stress too much about packing. Somehow it always gets done. All the little extras on the many lists out there are great to have but aren't trip breakers if forgotten. On our first cruise we brought everything suggested along and never found a use for the over the door shoe hanger, night light, etc.

I wish the weather would get cooler so I could get clothes from my kids at this rate I will be packing the last night along with all them men out there.

Here's a little idea if you want to skip the Autograph book. I bought my daughter two white pillowcases at Wal*Mart for about $5.99 a pack. I also bought a handful of really colorful permanent markers in noted character colors. Light blue for Cinderella, lime green for Tinkerbell or Peter Pan, pink for Sleeping Beauty, red for Mickey, etc. We will have the characters sign the cases and then that will be something DD can have and look at for a long time to come. They will also be very colorful. It won't be just a book that gets put on a shelf at home.

Not only is H (no D) NOT going on the cruise (which we already knew), now he's not even coming for the land part AFTER the cruise, which happens to include my birthday. :headache: He's been delayed starting his next job (he's a contractor) and "just can't take off whenever". There is a good size shop in the main concourse before you go down and get your luggage. Our last cruise was in 2004 and they didn't have a store at the port then. But who knows they may have added one since then. Looking forward to seeing everyone next Saturday!

You can turn your pillow case into Guest Services and they will have the characters sign it for you. They also sign photo mats as well, we did that one year and it came out so nice.

No way! {{said in my best Elaine Bennis voice}}. That is such an awesome thing to do! If by the third day or so we don't seem to be racking up many autographs, I will do just that!

Thank you so much!

I'm attempting to tie dye pillow cases for DDs for autographs. I hope they turn out OK...I'm used to t-shirts!

So far no one has PMed about the Pirate Soul, so I'm going to email the lady tomorrow and tell her it's off unless anyone wants to do it. DDs and I are planning to go at noon to do the scavenger hunt on our own.

I still don't have photos of the scrapbook pages ready yet, but I'm hoping to by tomorrow night! I've been overrun with last minute tie-dye orders and have got to get those done/shipped before we leave on Tuesday (not to mention that silly little thing called P-A-C-K :rolleyes1 )

I read somewhere awhile ago that the spa "sometimes" offers teen specials (facial, manicure). When I called DCL awhile ago they said they knew nothing about it, that the spa is run independently from their reservations and that it "might" be available - to check when we board.

Has anyone ever had any experience w/this? I'm sure it's not inexpensive:rotfl2: , but DD would enjoy it.

Any info???

I'm ready for that deck party!:woohoo:

My DH is the same way. He will pack the night before and even wait till the morning we leave to get any of his toiletries together! I'm the one who packs all of the kids clothes, buys any extra things we need and organizes everything in the suitcases. I have started putting together some of my things, but probably won't start packing till next week.

So glad to know I'm not alone! I need to buy a few things, not much (toiletry-related items).

Do you take an extension cord or power strip? If so, I guess pack it in checked luggage? I've never done this before, but I think we'll need it w/hair dryer, chargers, camera, etc.

When do you fly out of NJ?

SamIAm21
10-25-2007, 09:23 AM
I think the spas are run by a company called Steiner Leisure. I know they have a pretty extensive web site, so you might be able to find out some information there. Steiner runs the spas on many cruise ships, so maybe if they just show it as an offering overall, you could reason that it might be available on Disney.

Just a thought...

Well, we've bought stuff to put in the fish extenders, a few clothing items for DS, and toiletry items. Still have no documents. Still have no reservation for a place to stay Friday night. Oh, and still have nothing packed at all. Yup, I believe we're right on target. Last second folks that we are.

Yup, you have all the correct information, see you there. Also, if you are interested we are going to do a little Disney grab bag game. If you bring something, you will leave with something. A little Disney item between $1-$5 if you are interested. See you there!!!

I have not been on the DIS Boards in sooo long. I always used to read them religiously the last cruise we went on....When we finally got on the ship, we already knew so many friends! This summer that stretched into fall has been one of the worst--the endless home renovations (still not 100% finished), too much work, too much volunteering (why can't I ever say no!)?

But now I just received some really bad news. My parents are supposed to be coming on the cruise with us. They have never been on a cruise before, and I thought that they would love the Disney cruise. My dad, who has always had some health issues is not doing well. So bad in fact that they may not be able to come. Please say a prayer or spray some pixie dust our way so he gets better.

I just can't believe its only 1 week away.

My DS's suit still fits from his 1st Communion last spring, :thumbsup2 so him and DH will both be wearing suits for formal night. My handsome men!

I know what I'm wearing and I still have to decide on a dress for DD.

I know this is kind of late to ask now, but what do people wear to dinner on other nights? If I wore a skirt and heels, would I look out of place? DH and I don't go out alot so when I have the chance to dress up, I like to.

Also whats the earliest we can board the ship? We are still listed at 2nd dinner seating and I'm really hoping to get it changed.

Do the little girls wear Princess dresses? DD is princess crazed and loves to wear her dresses.

See you guys soon.

Sorry for all the questions! Guess I'm getting nervous with all the last minute details

As far as what people wear, you will see everything from shorts to formal gowns. Wear what you are comfortable in. It's your vacation. No, you will not look out of place. If you arrive at the port early, you should be able to get a low number boarding card. I think last year they started boarding between 11:45 and noon. When you board go straight to the location for dinner changes and it shouldn't be a problem. We did it last year and got it changed, no problems. Yes, you will see a lot of little girls in Princess dresses, and you will be able to get some great pictures also. No problem for the questions, that's what we are all here for!! See you in a week!

I haven't packed a thing yet. Hopefully, my summer clothes will still fit. My daughter seems to be growing daily, good thing it doesn't matter with shorts and capris. My son still fits in his communion suit (but he's in 4th grade!), so he's covered. Is everyone planning a pirate outfit for pirate night?

To DVC from NJ: Prayers for you father, hope he can be well enough to join you family

To love2travel: We will be also be passing by on deck 8 (we have gone for the cat 4 because of the extra room)

I still have mostly everything out but not packed yet. I am planning on doing that Monday. I just found out Thursday that I am going to see Bon Jovi tomorrow night at the new Prudential Center (my friend had an extra ticket!)

We are flying on Wednesday morning (can't wait). For the MNSSHP my DS11 is going to be an FBI agent & DS7 is going to be Harry Potter. They want me to dress up, so I have a martini t-shirt (or I nmight wear my Halloween t-shirt) I have a boa & tiara so I think I am going to be a party diva, lol. I did that a couple of years ago when the kids talked me into dressing up. Last year I was Madonna for school.

I guess we should add ponchos due to the weather forecast! Don't worry, it's kind of like carrying your umbrella...YOU NEVER NEED IT IF YOU HAVE IT!! The power of positive thinking!! Hey, DH and I had the best time in a downpour in Curacao...We got stuck in a cloud burst in a little outdoor (umbrellas at tables) bar! We taught the local bartender how to make frozen daiquiri! At first, we thought he was joking about not knowing how to make one, but he was serious! Anyway, it turned out just fine and we waited out the rain there.

Of course, this could be harder to do with kids...They usually don't like daiquiris!! LOL

It's been awhile since I posted. So many long days at work.... I'm a pharmacist, and the other pharmacists both moved away this summer.... The district mananger still has not found a replacement.... So I get a day off when there is a floater to fill in.... Oh well I'm off starting the 31st and not going back until Nov. 16......

Started packing......Made my list, so I hope I don't forget anything. Made the door magnents, got Lime Green Mickey heads made to identify us. Need to pickup gift exchange item.... Pickup last few things ... Drop of puppies at my parents house.... Get DD birthday present her birthday is on Nov 2, which she will spend on the plane.

Now, I know there is a cruise meet at 3 pm at the Goofy Pool when we board, DD wants to know how many of the kids will be there or if the ones that have been chatting are having their own special meet.... Is there anything else that I missed.... What's the latest on this tropical storm...

We're heading south bright and early tomorrow, first to Hilton Head for a few days, then on to WDW for the MNSSHP on Friday. DDs are SO excited and we can't wait to meet everyone and relaaaaaaax!

Hopefully, once you get on the ship you can relax and enjoy yourself!
Have a safe trip!!

Just found out last night that my parents have to cancel the cruise. We hadn't made any plans for excursion in Cozumel, because they just wanted to see Mexico and shop! But now we have the opportunity to do something--I hope it's not too late--but does anyone have any good excursion ideas???

Sorry to hear that your parents can't go. Last year in Cozumel, we did the Cozumel Beach Break through Disney, not a bad day at the beach. Other than that, no other suggestions.

What did you pack to get everything so neatly organized?????? There are 3 of us - we're all taking one large suitcase, each have a carry-on (except you just know MINE will be stuffed w/ everyone else's "almost forgots") plus we're taking a garment bag for the formalwear. Gee, did we overpack??? How big are those duffels, Michboro???:rolleyes1

They are 30" rolling duffels. I was worried that I really overpacked, and didn't know how to organize or fit in everything. I had to really stuff things in there for the 4 of us, and then there wasn't enough room for some of my younger DS's clothing, so my DH said to just cut the amount of clothing taken in 1/2. I didn't want to do that, because I would have a hard time eliminating things. I was considering using a 4th duffel, but then I ended up fitting the excess in another carryon bag instead. I will also have 2 carryon bags for all of our toiletries (1 larger and 1 smaller sized one), but I'll be checking one of them in, because it contains some liquids that are larger than 3 oz., and the one I'll carry on will have all important things. I didn't take a garment bag; I hope the formal wear will be okay.

WOW! you really had a packing plan! I'm sure whatever you packed for formalwear will be great - you know really anything goes. We decided to dress up - all 3 of us got into the theme (especially DH who bought a tux!:groom: ) - we want to have a nice picture, too!

Well, the best thing about these storms is that they usually suck up all the energy around them and once they depart, seas are usually very calm. So, I'm hoping this holds true after Noel leaves town. He looks like he'll be out of the way just in time!

Don't let the door hit ya in the butt on the way out, Noel... Leave, shoo, go!!

How many people are you packing for is the question. DH and I have 4 suitcases and garment bag. We are also spending a week at WDW after the cruise. Did we overpack?

SamIAm21
10-31-2007, 10:38 AM
Let's see, so far, we have two garment bags, a suitcase for each of us (3) and the carry on bag that I'm bringing with all the miscellaneous stuff in it that we need.

Here's a question, will our cabins be ready when we get on board, at least ready enough to put a bag in the cabin and then just leave. We probably won't board until at least 1:00 p.m.

Jen finished this afternoon, so we're packed (other than throwing my razor in the bag in the AM). Three suitcases plus a carryon each for the 2 of us, so I didn't think it was too bad. Plus we have lots of room to bring back goodies!!

We fly out tomorrow AM; we have to take down our Halloween display tonight after the trick or treaters have finished.

See you all on Saturday!!

We have 3 suitcases, 1 for each of us and 2 garment bags and we each have a carry-on bag. I keep saying to DH that it seems like we have less stuff than we did last cruise, I don't know why. See you all on Saturday!

Don't worry according to the weather reports, Noel will be long gone by the time we get on the ship.

Staterooms are ready at 1:30, sometimes they'll open a little earlier. Unfortunately they discourage dropping bags in the rooms by having a tape up across the entrance to the hall from the elevator/stairs lobby area.

Our flight doesn't land until about 11:00 and by the time we get to the bus and get on our way, I'm sure it will be closer to noon. Then, it's an hour to the port, so I don't really think we can make it any sooner. What am I going to miss cause dang, I hate to miss stuff. I'll be there for the sail away party!

about the bags....aren;t we only allowed 2 check in bags, 1 carryon, and purse per person on the plane/ship? DH packed today , but of course has no toiletries so thats what i have to pack. done packing DD except for sox, and her dress and shoes will go in my bag. so going with the 2 bag rule, I have to pack my stuff, toiletries, DD;s extras , and nething DH forgot to pack in his 2 bags, all while leaving enough room so that we will have space for goodies!
as for bein 3 days, im not even counting tonight cause im tooo tired, and we leave on fri AM...so for us we have 1 full day to get everything done and car packed.
went to $store today and found some GREAT disney stuff! Even found tink, minnie, and donald dry erase boards for the door! im sooo excited!!!!!

I had to repack some things last night. One of my bags is/was over the 50 pound limit imposed by my airline.

Has anybody had problems getting a portable DVD player through airport security? We had thought about taking ours (with earplugs) so we could have an "inflight movie".

Well only 1 more day! We leave tomorrow morning. Is anyone else leaving tomorrow, or has everyone left already? I hope Noel has no impact on our cruise. It is supposed to be moving north away from Bahamas, so hopefully it won't have any effect. The weather forecast predicts 60% chance of scattered thunderstorms for Cayman Islands on Tues., and 60% chance of showers for Cozumel on Wed. I hope the weather report changes by then and it doesn't effect anyone's shore excursions. Look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow, 3 PM at Goofy Pool!:cool1:

Hi all,

We are flying out of Pittsburgh, so we should be OK (fingers crossed). Our flight takes off at 7:10am.

I'll be sending pixie dust your way for all of you on the coast flying out Saturday morning. Are they calling for lots of rain for you guys?

Almost everything is packed. I'm nervous about the weight limit. I was only going to take 3 suitcases for 4 of us and a garmet bag. But I think I'm going to take an extra small suitcase to take some of the shoes, and things like that that weigh your suitcase down.

I have to run to Wal-mart to get some of the pictures off my memory card, forgot all about that.

Did you guys wash your pillowcases? I hope I was supposed to, because I did.

See you guys tomorrow! :)

Hi All!
I did not get to officially meet DisBoards members but we may have had experiences at the same time or met & didn't know we were Dis ers
But I thought about putting up a survey or evaluation set to questions that our family experienced on the cruise. I wonder (not the Wonder which I will be on again in July 08 & alot of crew were from the Wonder) if we could all set questions to where we were & what we did & which crew members we met, oh and of course any excursions,
We got home Sunday night & had a heck of a time getting home (almost didn't thanks to airline error) & I started that new job Monday morning (have to say so far awesome!)
I will try to get a full trip report together either this weekend or next to post on the trip report section of the boards, I don't have a scanner so I can't scan navigators for future cruisers but I can give a taste of what we experienced. My email is pattidepc@aol.com
BTW, we were the Bingo mafia, lol. Any Bingo people out there can contact me too.
