Ok everyone the topic of this week's contest!! March 20-26 - Disney Resorts and Hotels!! That means ANY pictures taken at ANY WDW Resorts and Hotels

I joined the forums so I could participate in this photo contest. When I post a link to a picture I get "DIS requires a minimum number of posts before allowing the posting of URL's".

Can anyone tell me what the number is? I attempted to find it in the FAQ's with no luck.

Oh, me three. :blush: I thought maybe someone thought I edited in the moon but I was really at CSR back in 2003 when there was a totally eclipse. What a fabulous resort to be at for an event like that.

On the other hand, this picture has been doctored but not with PS (don't own it). I thought it was pretty funny. :teeth:

Taken at the Caribbean Beach Resort. Found this little guy as we walked across the bridge to Old Port Royale one night. He would have stayed there and let us watch him as long as we wanted, but when I took the picture and the flash went off he had enough!!

Beautiful photo of my favorite resort. Can I ask what camera you used and what settings?

Thanks for the compliment. I use a Nikon D50 w/ 18-70mm lens. For that shot, the lens was at 25mm, aperature was at F3.8 and exposure was 1/3 sec.

I actually had the camera set on Auto because I didn't have time to fiddle around with manual settings (plus, I'm not good enough to know what settings to use). The sunset was amazing that day, so I wanted to shoot as many shots as I could before the sky changed. The above picture was one of the last ones I took, after the sky had darkened. This one below shows how the sky had been a few minutes earlier. Unfortunately, the camera metered on the sky and, consequently, the WL itself is almost totally black.

I constantly go back and forth trying to decide which I like better. The sky in the second one is more dramatic, but I think the sky and waterfall distract the eye from the Lodge itself. The first one has more of a balance between the Lodge and the waterfall, so I tend to like it a bit more.

DW and I have always thought the trees athe the Contemporary look like homemade popsicles - the kind you make with orange juice and dixie cups (OK, so maybe we were the only ones who ever did this). Anyhow, I took a picture of them from the monorail platform inside the Contemporary, and just happened to catch the Grand Floridian in the background. Hope you like it!
