How to add ticker countdown???

I have tried and tried to add a tickerfactory.com countdown to my signature. Can someone please tell me how to do it? I'm really not that computer dumb, I just can't figure it out. :confused3 :furious: :confused3

When you make your ticker on tickerfactory.com (there are others) you copy the code into your signature. If you use tickerfactory you copy the "bbCode".

yes you do have to use the bb- however, you have to CUT and paste-- NOT COPY and paste.

Hey guys!

just a little more info- when you paste anything into your signature...just scroll down a bit and click on (preview signature) and it will show you how your ticker etc will look when you post something! :)

one more tip- if you want to subscribe to a thread- just go to the top of the thread- under (thread tools) and choose -subscribe to this thread- :)

You need to select all of the contents of the bbCode. If you leave any part out the code may not be completed and the web page will not understand it and it will just show up as the letters.

When I cut and paste to my signature is it supposed to be all words or show it how it looked before I cut and paste ( this stuff always confuses me)

Yes, it's all words until you post for the first time and than it will show your ticker.

I know it confuses me too. I just did mine and it worked. Just remember to cut and paste not Copy!!!

Just a guess here.....try:
Go into Control Panel
Edit Signature
Look and see if it's in there twice...you may need to scroll up or down...if it's in twice, I would delete the first one.

When you initially build your ticker, you come to a screen "Configure Your Event Ticker". It has the date and it says "Event". You need to type whatever you want your ticker to say in this block.

That's what I thought I saw last time I did this. Now it only says due date. Maybe because I chose a pregnancy one. Let me try something different. Thanks!

EDITED TO ADD: That's it! When I chose EVENT instead of PREGNANCY it let me add words. Thanks!
