Ok, here is a question for the real fanatics. If you know the answer to this you are no longer considered an fanatic, maybe more expert.

I have been saving soap, lotions, etc from all my trips to WDW for over a year. There is a woman who takes these and makes up little gift bags for children in the Cancer hospital near her home. She has been doing this since her daughter was ill. Her daughter said it made her happy when she felt bad to see Mickey smiling at her.
I know I should have sent these a long time ago, but you all have traded with me, you know how hard it is for me to get to the post office. I just don't have time during the day, the lines are too long and I only get an hour for lunch. And my days off are even busier.
Well, anyway... I told a CM about these soaps and how I have to send them to the woman. She told me that I should bring the big box with an address label to WOD. Then if I purchase something like a facecloth, and put it in the box with the soaps Disney will ship it.
Does anyone know if this is true, and am I being a total cheapskate if it is? and if the answer is yes to the last part, don't hate me. Is anyone willing to take this heavy box to the Post Office for me??? Peggie

Hi Peggie,

I don't know if this is related but my church and organization "The Women of St. Lawrence" in Huntington gather these samples and make baskets for the needy. They distribute these baskets to the elderly, children in hospitals, etc.

If you think this maybe what you were thinking of, email me!

Thanks, Laura

Peggie, the lady who collects the toiletries is real - she was in a DebWills newsletter quite awhile ago. I saved her email address after corresponding with her about the project. I usually take our extra toiletries to a local homeless shelter.

Dear Peggie,

I did the same thing, but filled baskets for Nursing Homes in the area at Christmas Time.

This is such a great idea.

I can tell you that I purchased some large heavy stones at Property control one time, and after I did it I tried to figure out how I would get them home.

I went to WOD and bought some additional stones and they sent them all home together for me - I thought that was awesome, as it probably would have cost me way more then the stones cost to ship this stuff home.

So I think what you said, would probably be true.

I think they would ship the stuff for you.
