1/1-9/07 - the wait is killing me, to say nothing of how many times a day I change my mind over where to stay

We're not going until March 2007, but I've already got my package reserved! My DSis is going with us, and it'll be her first trip, so I'm using this time to make it extra special for her! :yay:

I won't beat myself up by putting up a counter that's in the 300s, but there are things to do this far out that make the trip 'real'. We usually go the first week in March (this year's trip report now posted), our dates for 2007 will be Feb 28 - March 11, and airfare goes on sale 330 days out. Lately, USAir and Delta out of our local 'port have their best rates right off the bat, if you wait, you pay for it, so on April 16 we can buy that, and that act confirms that we're going. Also, this trip we're looking to spend 5 to 7 days at Boardwalk Villas and we can lock that in starting on the same day as the airfare. Once that's done, two of the three pieces of the trip, the other being park passes, will be done and paid for. During the summer months I don't dwell on WDW as much since we have a week or so in Myrtle Beach and PA summers are pretty nice in their own right. The Thanksgiving to New Year's holiday season blows right by with all that's going on with our extended family and then... we're into double digits! Nothing makes it easier to disregard a bad PA winter like the knowlegde we'll be stepping off a plane in MCO to a blast of hot, humid air in a short time.
As maddhatir mentioned, the anticipation is half the fun. I'd modify that to, 'Planning is half the fun'. My time spent here pays off by saving us money, thousands over the years, getting us better hotels, I learned about the Swan/Dolphin for $139 here and in learning how to milk the most out of our time in WDW. At the same time, I'm getting my 'fix'.

Hey, I know what you mean the about the waiting. We are not going until January 2007 also. We picked January this time to see if the heat and crowds will be better. We are staying at the Polynesian. Were are you staying? What dates are you going in January? Us January 13th thur 20th. (If your going in January)

We're not going to WDW again until 2008! But in the meantime we are going to DisneyLand in SoCal this year and the 7-day Disney cruise next year, so I think we'll manage somehow. ;)

I'm totally with Bill from PA. The planning in so much fun! I enjoy the good things at home, and then use planning to bulid excitment whenever things at home are dragging a bit. (Last trip actually came up *too quickly* without enought ime to savor the planning process, and I was home before I was ready to go!)
Our last trip was November 2005, and DH swore we wouldn't go back until February 2009 :scared1: (for my 40th). Just this week, he finally said we could save for a November 2007 trip and I am thrilled! It's a long way away, but I'll have fun throughout the year and half, planning it, looking forward to it, and just enjoying *knowing* I'm going! :thumbsup2

I get sad when I read about people going in the next few days but then I remember they will be right where I am when I post in October that I am walking out the door on vacation. I guess what goes around comes around.

You can add me to the 2007 list!!! We bought a new home a couple of months ago so there will be no 2006 Disney World trip for us. :sad2: This is the first year in over 20 years that we aren't going so I'm having major withdrawl symptoms. I do have "room only" at Pop Century booked for for May 30- June 7, 2007. I'm a very impatient person so the wait is driving me crazy but like the others have said planning and reading the threads here on the boards sure makes the waiting much more bearable!!! Pretty soon the 2007 packages will be released so I can change my ressie over to a package and then in mid July I can book airfare so there is lots to look forward to!!! I might just make it thanks to all of you here on the DIS!!! :thumbsup2
