Is the campfire with Chip and Dale free to everyone or do you have to stay at the WL or FW? If anyone can go do you need to make an ADR? I think I read somewhere that you can roast marshmellows and watch a movie outside, am I right? :yay:

Any info on this would be helpful, :thumbsup2

TIA,

Loralie

Its free to everyone and I'm pretty sure you just show up- you don't have to make any reservations. Although the last time I went to it I was 11 years old :rotfl2: so it might have changed.

It's free! No ADR needed! it is alot of fun! We do it everytime we camp(which is most trips).Chip and Dale sign autographs, there is a sing-along- and camfire, plus a disney mvie under the stars!

Know that if it's been raining and expected to end, they will still have the sing-along under a covered area and will have the campfires and movie going, but Chip & Dale may not show up. I know two little boys who were a bit upset at first that the rodents couldn't join the fun, but they got over it when it came time to play with fire :teeth:

The campfire singalong is free to anyone staying at a Disney resort - any Disney resort. We've done it twice and it's so much fun. There is a singalong, chip n dale come out and sign autographs and take pics, and then the movie starts right when it gets dark. You can indeed roast marshmallows and they sell smores kits. I think they even sell hot dogs. You can buy sodas or water as well. It's really fun and a lovely setting.

It's nightl just before sunset. I suggest calling from your resort to confirm time if it is a "time change" of year. We went per the prescribed time in April and it turns out that was the week they choose to push back in hour b/c of the clock change

If you check under the Camping At Walt Disney World forum they usually post the movie schedule for the entire month.

I recently spoke to a disney rep about the Campfire and she said it was every night at Fort Wilderness, weather permitting. She provided the phone number, 407-824-2900 for additional info. The times she gave me were 6:30 for the campfire, 7:00 is the singalong with Chip n Dale, and then the movies usually started aroudn 7:40. All subject to change of course. Hope this helps.

IIRC the time changes to 8PM when daylight savings starts April 2nd.
right now it starts at 7PM, the previous poster is correct that the movie usually starts around 7:40.

This is a great family activity, especially if you still (or used to) enjoy going to the drive in.
