We are going 20 April for 2 weeks and have just found out that April 28 and 29 are Grad Nights both at Disney and Universal.

What does this mean exactly ?

Will the parks be unbearably crowded and full of rowdy students ?

Are the parks still 'access all areas' for all non-Grads ?

Would we better off giving the parks a miss on these nights (or going to somewhere like Seaworld instead ?) :confused3 :confused3

The MK closes early for some Grad night events. We were there this time last year and it made no difference to us at all :)

I noticed this to when planning our holiday.

The universal one i thinks starts at 7pm til early hours of the morning.

So i think it is when the park closes.

Did not know that Disney were doing the same.

Hopefully parks won't be busy fingers crossed.

The only way you will be affected by Grad Nights is the MK opening hours.

Basically, the park will close slightly earlier than normal - seven o'clock - so there is no Spectro or Wishes. The grad students are then bussed in and the park is open exclusively for them until the wee hours.

Unless you want to watch Spectro or Wishes there is no reason to avoid MK on Grad Nights, as it won't affect the crowds.

Hope that helps, :)

Thanks for the info. I think there may be something happening in AK too, so perhaps that's after the park closes also.

We were there for Grad Nights in 2004. We had a letter posted under our door at The Polynesian Resort telling us to "expect so unexpected lights from the Magic Kingdom this evening".

The Grad Night fireworks were truly exceptional. If you can make it over for a meal at The Polynesian, Grand Floridian or Contemporary Resort, then I would recommend staying to watch the fireworks.
