Yesterday DD and I went to Sea World. We decided to catch the Shamu Show. Shamu was being a "diva" and decided she did not really want to perform, although she did a few "stunts". It was twilight, and I was trying to get some photos. First I didn't have the best vantage point, so I need to rethink my location the next time, but I failed miserably getting good clear photos.

What settings should I use? I have done very little with manual settings on my S2-IS, with the exception of using the SCN setting where I have night shot, fireworks, indoor, beach, foliage.

I find it much more difficult now that they are changing the stadium for a new show. In the past they had a giant video screen which showed what was happening in the pool, including under water, so I could watch to see when the whales were going to make their dramatic jumps, etc.

Okay, if anyone has any tips, I would appreciate it. I think we are headed back over tomorrow afternoon/evening, maybe we can catch a daylight show, and this won't be an issue, but just in case........

:thanks:

I doubt there's anything you can do about it because you'll need THAT high of a shutter speed to capture shamu in motion. Even at ISO400 you won't get the speed you need during a twilight show.

Thanks. I won't try! I will make sure we catch the day time show tomorrow!

The more I thought about it, I figured I was trying to do something I couldn't!!!

Still haven't figured out where the darned puppy hid my user guide, so I am sitting here reading it on line tonight!

I know... I really am lucky!!! I don't ever take it for granted, but sometimes I forget that not everybody can do it!

I am taking advantage of the awesome weather before it gets too hot. Then I don't want to leave the house or the pool!

Tara is on spring break, and mad because I had to work a couple days. After 2pm tomorrow I am off until Monday. I should be able to get into all kinds of "stuff"! Going to Busch Gardens for some new opportunities on Thursday!
