We have ressies for HIFS for the first 2 weeks of Feb. I have a car booked too. Im just waiting to see if I can get a good flight deal. We were able to take advantage of 5 free nights at HIFS. I'd like to cruise some day. I was wondering if they have any reasonably priced rooms that accomodate a family of 5. One of the factors in staying offsite for us was that there are no value resorts for family of 5 onsite. And of course with our dollar, we need all the help we can get.

Great trip report, Mickey Canada! It must have been very frightening to be so far from home when the September 11th tragedy took place. What ages are your children? Did they enjoy the child care programs on board the ship?

CindyAnn - My dd is 8 and absolutely loves the kids clubs. My ds is 6 and needs persuading to go to the club, but once he's there he has a fantastic time. The cruise really is fantastic and the ship itself absolutely gorgeous!

What really made us worry, was not knowing how we would get home, and when as we were on standby (companion passes). Once we knew how Disney was handling everything and keeping in close contact with our buddy at NW we felt some of the worries lifted. However, it sure felt good to be home safe & sound.

Great trip report MickeyCanada!!

We are going on the 7 day Disney Magic in January for my DD 3rd birthday and looking forward to it immensely. I'm glad to hear that your children enjoyed the kids clubs. I hope that mine does too.

I finally had a chance to read your trip report. Fantastic report, MickeyCanada. As I read your report, with the bad weather and the attack on the WTC, all I could think of was that if this were me, I would be going crazy. It sounded so depressing but your whole family seemed to take everything in stride and make the best of things. And it sounds like Disney outdid themselves with their concern and care for everyone. I hope your next trip to WDW will be filled with sunshine!
