Hi Guys!!
I have had a couple of pm's tonight asking about Sam (my ds aged 7) most of you know I had to pull out of the Sheffield meet as he went into hospital today.
Well we went in and he is scheduled to go to theatre at 10.00 in the morning (tomorrow) My mum is staying with him tonight as my older son had his 'passing out' parade at Sea cardets tonight so I was there for him with my DH and dad!!
Will be back at the hospital at 6.30 in the morning and I am staying tomorrow night with DH staying the next night (beyond that we have yet to organise!!)
Sam got a wonderful card delivered from his teacher tonight with all his classmates signing/drawing on it. His teacher is so nice and is planning to visit!!, We will give it to him after the op. He is being brave at the moment....personally I feel sick not being with him but as my mum says my other son needs us too and we need to all keep our engery levels up!! (you can tell she is a retired midwife!!)
Will keep you informed when I can of how it goes tomorrow! :)

I will be thinking of you all tomorrow, I hope it all goes well for Sam.
Your mum is right though, your older son needs you too - he is probably struggling with this as much as you guys so he will need you to be there for him too. Many hugs and all the pixie dust in the world.

Hi All!!
Thank you for all your wonderful best wishes!!.
Sam had his operation yesterday and although we were scheduled for 10.00 we did not got down till 2.45 (so it was a long day!!) and to be honest until midnight Sam was 'out with it'...then I had a long night with him...He was not totally with it but could feel the pain so I really felt for him!!
Today was better...he is weepy, sore but understands this needs to be done so is coping!!
I felt awful leaving at 6.30 tonight but my dad, best friend and DH was there!!....but I really needed to see my mum (for a hug!!) pick up older DS (aged 13) who had gone straight to my mum & dads from school and have some dinner (who can beat you mums own dinners!!)
DH has just rang to say Sam is asleep and I will be there in the morning before the consultant comes round.......My older DS is great I know I can get him up before I leave and know he will get to school on time aswell as take the dog for a walk, get his school bag together, lock up and leave the house in good order!!
Will give you an update as soon as I can but for now going to get watch the end of the West Hammatch with my older DS and have some qulaity time....(whilst feeling guilt as I know I should be at the hospital!!)

:grouphug: Jane you are a wonderful mum, I'm so pleased that the operation is over and that Sam is recovering well. Your eldest son sounds great too, and it must be nice to spend a little time with him. Keep us informed on how Sam's doing
Take care
Mandy :)

Jane, thinking of you all, best wishes to you :grouphug:
Don't beat yourself up Jane :) Hospitals are intense enviroments - either you are there for treatment and therefore ill or in pain or you are there as a parent worried sick and not getting much sleep!
You need to have a break and you'll be more use to Sam today because of it.
Love to you all :grouphug:

Hi All
Just a quick update. Sam came out of hospital yesterday evening (friday) so we are all home safely!!. The nurse comes daily to redress the dressings which Sam does not enjoy! :guilty:
Hes really irratable, short tempered at the moment and crying for nothing so I am actually finding it harder since we have come home!!. DH is 'on call' all weekend and typically has been out most of the day....so today has been a LONG day!!
Trying to keep clam and hoping for a good nights sleep tonight as last night I let Sam sleep with me (DH in Sams bed!!) so I spent most of the night awake as frightened I would roll over onto him!
Hes not happy we are insisiting he sleeps in his own bed.....Older DS is certainly getting to the end of his 'I feel sorry for my brother' temprement as Sam is winding him up/annoying him constantly.
Looking forward to DH coming home so I can have a hug and reassurance....and a soak in the bath with the door shut for 15 mins!!
I sound like a terrible mum now but typing this has made me feel a bit better!! :confused3 .....at least it went well and can only look forward!
