This is probably an obvious question to some of you seasoned travelers, but we are not. We are flying on Delta Express, which serves only beverages. We will be flying right through the lunch hour. I don't want to have a late lunch after we arrive, because we have PS for dinner 4 hours later. Would it be alright to bring our own lunch on the plane, or is this frowned upon? Thanks for ALL your help everyone, we are leaving in 2 days!

They do serve a little snack pack, but, you are certainly welcomed to bring your own food aboard, or eat before you board.

Bring a lunch by all means. But do your fellow pax a favor and avoid things with onions, curry, garlic, etc. :-)

They may ask you not to carry fruit off the plane, depending on where you're flying to and from, but otherwise they don't care.

We've done this with both breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was on a 6 a.m. flight (we had to leave home at 4 a.m.). Lunch we had a 30 minute layover in Atlanta at 12:30. We got some food at a fast food reastaurant near the gate, and then carried it on to eat (by the time we got off one plane, stood in line for the food, and then were called for the next flight, our 30 minute layover was gone). Apparently, it's fairly common for people to do that.

Thanks for your replies, everyone. Unfortunately, we cancelled our trip due to the new developments on the war front. We were supposed to leave our house @ 6:30 this morning, and just did not have time to really consider the risks. But, we are looking at going the beginning of Dec. ;)
