Hi everyone,
I know their upgrades are not guaranteed but let's just pretend for a minute -
Am I supposed to ask for the upgrade when I check in? OR
Does the staff give it to me when I check in? OR
Is the upgrade given before I check in so that I know I received an upgrade before I even leave for my trip? AND FINALLY
What is the next step up from a King Suite?
Thanks!

you need to ask for the upgrade.
if you are a platinum, i would think the check in person might mention it.
i am not platinum so don't know for sure, stuck on gold........

I'm a platinum member and when I made my reservation for a standard room at RPR, I was told I could be upgraded free-of-charge to a king suite. The email confirmation they sent me contained the standard room rate but with king suite as the room type.
When I was at gold status, I booked a standard room at RPR (no mention of an upgrade at booking). When I checked in, I was asked if I wanted to upgrade to the Presidential Suite for an additional $35 per night (or was it $50???). I think being offered the Presidential Suite is kind of rare. I think they thought I was someone famous or something. ;) Not only did I receive my Loews welcome gift, I also received chocolate covered strawberries and a thank you note from management. :) Okay, back on topic. If they don't ask you about an upgrade at check-in, I'd ask if they have one available.

We've done this at RPR and PBR. Call or email the rooms supervisor, get a name and arrange this ahead of time if possible. Otherwise, be sure to tell the person who checks you in that you are interested in upgrading. We have always had good luck with room assignments if you plan ahead and talk to the right person.

If one is available they can upgrade you at check in but nothing is promised.

I figured that we'd be out of luck for an upgrade on March 8th since we are blue members and arrived at 11:00 p.m. I asked anyway and was told I could have a standard bay view or a deluxe pool view. With 4 of us in the room, I chose the deluxe for the extra space. I had to ask for it though. It also probably didn't hurt that my DS kept brining up that it was his birthday trip and he thought they should take care of him.
