Just starting to plan August trip--need your help, opinions

We just changed our original plans from a November(Thanksgiving trip) to an August trip. I need your opinion. We are looking at staying at either the DTD doubletree suites or nickelodeon suites--the price difference is about $500.00 in total--our kids are 10, 6 and 3--I've stayed there before it was nickelodeon just don't know if I can pay or justify the price difference--have never stayed at doubletree--any suggestions or opinions would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Ilisa

I don't have any firsthand experience (i'm sure others will chime in) but my good friend just got back from a week at Nickelodeon Hotel and loved it but she said the hotel is all about the kids. Her kids are 6 and 3 and they had a ball. When I asked her son (6) what he loved about WDW he said the Nick hotel pool! She said the commute to WDW was easy. That being said, I just booked for WL.
