Put our deposit down today for this cruise! :cool1: Any others out there? I know it is way early, but thought they may be some other early planners out there.
It is myself, DH, and DD (10) and my parents.
This will be our 5th Disney cruise. :teeth:

We booked last week when the rates came out. We hope to keep it but have to see how DS does this Oct with missing a week of high school. This will be our 8th Disney cruise. We have #6 coming up in May and #7 in October. It will be me, DW, DS (15) and DD (12 at time of cruise)

I booked when the dates opened last week!!!!!! We are saving over $200.00 compared to 12/06 double dip, whose afraid of a possible hurricane, lol!!!!!!! October is Gulf of Mexico storm season, so we should be good on the Eastern.

Staying in "my" cabin, a cat 11 sideways, deck 6. Bringing Mom (59 at cruise time) with me on this cruise, she hasn't cruised since 01/04, she is so jonesing!!!!!!!!!

Will check in every so often, but will be a regular after the December double dip!

I get disney travel agent e-mails, doing Disney College of Knowledge, so there is news about new excursions. Something about a powerboat cruise through a lagoon on St. Maarten, sounds like the thing for me!!!

Talk about early planning, lol!!!!!!

We are thinking we may have to go on a cruise this Fall to hold us over until next Oct.

You need to go Oct 28th Halloween cruise. Then we can count the 2007 cruise as a reunion cruise :rotfl: We have had really good luck with the October weather.

Do you have to take your kids out for the whole week or do they have some days off during that time? What kind of special things do they have going on around the ship for Halloween?

pjpoohbear
03-15-2006, 04:42 PM
Sailing 09/12/06 last offical double dip for '06! We don't even know if we are going to cozumel yet, no oneelse on the Magic has this year yet. Some think it is due to the number of ships in port on normal western Cozumel docking day. It might be fine for us as we are docking on a different day of the week.

Mom wont talk about the '06 cruise, because she can't go due to work schedules, ouch.

That sounds like fun! :goodvibes We have found an agency that has group rates for the Sept.2, 2006 and it is about $400 cheaper than going on Oct.28. But, there is just something about spending Halloween on the high seas!! :teeth:

Hi tchrmom! Do you all have strict attendance rules in your area? So far this year my daughter has only missed four days and that was when we went on the Feb.11 cruise. I think her teacher was just as excited as she was to be going. But, we will have to wait to next year and see what the teacher says.

I've never had any trouble taking my kids (or myself) out of school........I just approach it as "an educational experience".

Not everyone gets to view underwater sealife, visit Mayan ruins.......etc.

I know that the high schools in my area allow up to 15 days with parent approved absences. But there is no consideration for missed assignments, other than handing them in early and tests missed are missed.

And the lower level schools are about the same, days wise. I had missed up to 30 days in high school and still passed the year with a B average (i just was very bored during high school, still did all my work and made sure I was there for test days, involved in school activites.) As long, the child is doing the work and understanding the material, a happy child is more likely to want to be in school.

Just me, single mom of 44 and Noah who is 6 now but will have just turned 8 by then!

We paid only $400 more for a 7 night during this time of year vs. the 4 night at Easter! NEVER again during a holiday! We saved 10% and got a $200 room credit from Disney plus an add'l credit from our travel agent! Yippee!

I am cruising on the double castaway cruise in December and our last cruise was in January 2004 (we bought DVC while on board the magic.) So the 220 days left is not so bad and then there are only 300 days until the Halloween cruise. We did 2005 at WDW and no cruises, very sad. I was very excited for this years cruise, then it died off and now the excitement is coming back!

We booked our 4/23 4 night cruise at 300+ days and it FLEW by so I'm hoping that this will too! :hourglass When I told Noah about rebooking he asked how many days and I told him about 450... wow, was I WRONG!!!

I'm going to try hard to not talk about it so the time won't drag for him. He gauges time by how many sleeps.... not how many days... 543 sleeps to a 6 year old will seem like FOREVER!!!

Rachel, since you were on the Halloween cruise before.... how did DCL handle Halloween night?

We were on this Cruise and We did not do the dis trick or treat..Only reason, there is NO way I could fit another thing in our suitcase so there was NO way I was fitting LOADS of candy..Bahh humbug, BUT i will say WE thought the DISNEY Trick or Treat is VERY poorly done, very BORING..BUT we had a SUPERB time and GOt to meet soo many DIS'RS and set UP LOADS of Diff meetins where you could go or not go..We also had a HUGE PARTY in the WALT SUITE that one of the disrs was in..that was fun too...

Kim - I'm hooked on cruising too! We took our first cruise in April and I did a 4 night then and it was WAY tooooo short. My son loved the clubs, I had time to read and relax. I can't wait for this cruise even if it is forever away!

I loved reading the live report about last year's Halloween Cruise. I'm thinking of shipping candy for our trick or treating ahead of time. Tell me, did you dress up on Halloween night?

Hockeychic
06-11-2006, 09:08 AM
I know we didn't bring costumes specifically for halloween, by DH seems to think Halloween was on Pirates night and we did all dress up in pirate costumes which was fun. I honestly can't remember which day was which :confused3

We met alot of great people on the Halloween cruise in October 05.

I really like the jumbo tron they have on the top deck, it played alot of movies. I have a feeling DD will ditch me for the stack so I will be spending alot of time up there watching movies. This will be my first cruise without DH so I am a little nervous but I am sure it will be amazing and a little sad as DS won't be there either. But DD and I are looking forward to it.

Others have flown with Southwest around 120.00-180.00 USD.

We are in North Scarborough. I work at the University of T.

Kim1, I am not sure if I read your count down correctly but if you have cruised disney before you can book at 120 days out.

On my dis cruise last year, 1 person set up a group for high tea, she does work for DU so not sure if that had something to do with it, and we had brunch with people from another room, but we where added to there ressie after we got on board so not quite sure how it all works.

I would love to have brunch with the group, even dining I think can be linked up if people want to be linked. Don't quite remember how it was done.

120 days out is for Conceirge and REAS packages, 90 days out is for Castaway Cay members, 75 days out is for everyone who has paid their cruise in full. by the time we cruise we will have to be paid in full by 75 days out. In 2006 some of us are still on the old pay by of 60 days out.

Good for you!! :thumbsup2 I am a control freak :rolleyes1 so I completely understand and could never wait either. I'm also very spoiled and can't live without a verandah.... so we are in 6078 for this cruise! I LOVE being able to sit out there with a cup of coffee while Noah sleeps in.... or when he's down for the night and I'm not sleepy yet. :cloud9:

We had 5622 on our 4 night cruise and thinking I might switch to that room due to only a 50% chance of a smoker due to the location... only one verandah to the right... since we are the first room in that section!
No offense to anyone who smokes, Noah can't take it due to asthma!

I will have my first balcony in October of this year. I would like to always have a balcony but my first disney cruise there was so much going on we where never in our room so couldn't see spending the extra...lots extra on a balcony but would sure like to have one :thumbsup2

I was in 6539 on Magic last time and we got the 6th floor again, I prefer to be lower on the ship so this worked out well.

Hey, did you all know that we should be the first or second cruise after Magic's bi-annual refurb. I wonder what changes will be made to our ship before we get on? There will be lots of DISers watching our live reports, lol. I really hope that we are the second cruise after, as the frist cruise last year had lots of work still happening during their cruise.

Hey Babs welcome

We did dress up for pirates night, it was alot of fun. I believe however that last year halloween and pirates night where the same night. Great deck party for pirates night.

Last October we where the 2 or 3rd cruise out after the refurbish. Everything was so nice. Because I had not cruised before I really don't know what changed except for the addition of the jumbo tron. That is awesome though how do you find the refurbish schedule?

Welcome Babs!! We are going to bring pirate costumes for each of us and a separate Halloween costume (if he doesn't want to be a pirate for Halloween) pirate: in case they are on separate nights.

I've only done a 4 night cruise so I'm very excited to do the 7 night this time. I plan on shipping lots of candy for our DIS trick or treat ahead to the ship. :yay:

I love these things too..... :cloud9: They keep making up new ones that just seem to fit into our conversations.... :p

You are so right Kim2. If I hadn't rebooked this on board I don't know what I would have done with nothing to plan... I'm already waiting for Easter 2008 rates to come out so I can jump on those as well!

Noah's last day of school was yesterday so the fun of the summer starts! :yay: He is now, officially, a first grader and VERY proud of it! :woohoo:

I met his new teacher for next school year and she is adorable, young, perky and everyone seems to love her. I'm so very happy that he's doing so well and will be in another set of very good hands for next year!

I wish I could be off all summer too..... :rolleyes1

So exciting the last day of school. My kids are much older. DS will be finishing grade 11 this year and only has one exam so last day of school is Tuesday then a exam next Monday then he is done.

DD is graduating grade 8 so we are fussing with dresses, hair, makeup, hopefully we have all this done by next Monday as that is grad day then she is suppose to go to school till Wed but we just told her to just go back Wed afternoon for her report card. We figured she could have a break, she going to be taking a course for the month of July so we let her take a break, weird kid wanted to do school in the summer :lovestruc

Penny: That would be really great if it where in reburbish.. the ship was in amazing shape when we cruised last year but I know like you said the first cruise out was still dealing with some issues but she sure was sparkly..

Well off to shop for last minute grad stuff, I am also going to look for a formal dress..we are going on a cruise this October and I have lost quite a bit of weight so nothing fits.....good excuse to shop :dance3:

Have a great weekend everyone

Noah has a birthday party to go to this afternoon, but that's about the only reason we'll be out and about. Today is the 7 year anniversary of my Mom's passing. It makes me so sad that I'm too emotional to be with outsiders. I'll bust out in tears in public for no reason thinking about her and her last days, etc.... so, I'm sticking around home as much as possible.

I was pregnant with Noah when she passed (she had a rare form of Lupus, Scleroderma - they made a TV movie about it - Bob Saget's sister had it too) and had been suffering for years so it was a blessing, but truly the hardest thing I've had to deal with yet.

Sorry for the bummer post.... it helps to share.

Ladies, I did some research and couldn't find our exact answer about how we can book a Ladies DISmeet Brunch.... so, I posted the question.

A few of us can book 4 at a time... however.... there is a private room that we can request about 30 days out that fits 12 or so.... My only concern would be not booking the individual ones and then not getting the private room! :confused3

I've never been to Palo yet... I had brunch reservations on my last cruise but didn't have anyone to go with. I invited another Mom that was on a solo trip with her son but he was very clingy and didn't like the club... so I gave them up.

I'm excited about doing this! We'll do a head count in about... oh... 365 days or more... :lmao: I know, I know... are we there yet????

Questions for all....

1. Will you be getting up at 3:00 a.m. EST to book your excursions, PALO, spa treatments, etc??? Yes for me!

2. Will you fly/drive in the night before our cruise leaves? We will fly in Friday night, staying at the Hyatt at the airport and taking the DCL bus.

3. Will you stay over Saturday night and go home on Sunday? Yes, we are planning on going to the Poly on Saturday and spending a little time at MK. Can't be that close and not see the castle. We are dying to try the Poly!

4. What is the most desired excursion that you want to do? Jury is out, I need to do some research on the beaches since DS will be 8 and I'm not sure what else he would enjoy!

Yes for me, too!

2. Will you fly/drive in the night before our cruise leaves?
We are flying in the Saturday before the cruise, will spend the week at WDW, not doing parks each day, but we will have a mother load of DVC points to use by then! Thinking about a deluxe resort, on points, during the week and DVC on weekend to save points. (never thought that would be my thought pattern, lol.)

3. Will you stay over Saturday night and go home on Sunday?
Will most likely fly home on Saturday, but may spend Saturday night in Buffalo and do some shopping before heading home, that is if we still have any money left.

4. What is the most desired excursion that you want to do?
The only one that is catching my eye at this point is the speed boat/lagoon, in st. marteen. maybe just a trip up the tram in st. thomas.

1) Definatley getting up at 3AM for excursions and Palo

2) We will fly in Friday, not sure where we will stay yet, if we get a early enough flight we will spend Friday at WDW and stay at one of the values Friday and then drive to the Port Saturday morning. We will rent a car.

3) No we will fly home Saturday

4) Parasailing at CC, it was cancelled last time when we had it booked so DD and I really want to do it this time.

(New to this board!) We will be on the cruise too! We are celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary (it's actually on the 23rd) and my daughter's 12th birthday on Halloween. Do you know if they do anything really special for Halloween on board? We are in stateroom 6050 right now.

We were in WDW at Easter Break staying at the Yacht Club and on the last day of our 8 days we bought DVC. I'm using some of the points for Disneyland in August but none for the cruise. We'll probably stay at Saratoga Springs after the cruise for a few days.

I'm in the same quandry of taking my two kids out of school. They'll be in Fifth and Sixth Grades and are in private school so there are no monies lost to the school if I take them out (only my monies). Hey, I only have a 25th Wedding Anniversary once Right?

Welcome Lori and family!! Welcome to the DISboards and I'm so happy you are on the Halloween 2007 cruise! :grouphug: Also congrats on 25 years being married.... I'm humbled!

I'll add you to our roll call - but first.. I see your DD (12) has her birthday on Halloween and DS , will he be 10 or 11?

My son will be 8, in 2nd Grade then and I have no qualms taking him out of school. Since the prices during holidays and especially Spring Break (we were on the 4/23 4 night Wonder cruise) are soooo expensive and DS is a good student - so off we go!

The Halloween stuff is a bit lame, or so I've heard, but I, for one, will be shipping good Halloween treats to the ship in advance! We'll put together our own Trick or Treat for the kids!

This 7 night cruise was $400 more at Halloween vs. the 4 night cruise at Spring Break time.... and I got a total on board credit of $400 from DCL and my TA for rebooking on board... so... it's actually the same price for us! :thumbsup2 and three more nights, way more interesting ports... I can't wait! :dance3: We are in room 6078!

Good Morning! I got the $200 OBC from DCL and another $200 from my TA. Not sure what it was all comprised of because in one of her emails, prior to my confirmation for the Halloween cruise she said I was also getting a $25 credit for referring business her way.... We'll it looks like we have a lot of early bookers like me. I thought I'd be the only crazy one booking 17 months out! It should be fun and look forward to meeting everyone on board. Let me give you some background. I'm from a town a little south of San Francisco. I mostly go to Disneyland at least once every two years, but you couldn't tell that from my house which is "tastefully" decorated with disney stuff. We went to WDW in April and stayed at the Yacht Club, at the end of the vacation I bought into DVC, oh well, hindsight... We have a short Disneyland trip coming up in August, but we are really looking forward to DCL in October. I like the idea of paying a bit each month so it doesn't hurt so much. My husband & I will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary (honeymooned in Disneyland!) on the cruise and my daughter will be turning 12 (6th grade) on Halloween. My son will be 10 (5th grade). We will probably add a day or two after for WDW. My kids normally make friends fairly easily so I'm not worried about them, in fact, I keep finding little snippets of things that they can do on board. I CAN'T WAIT!

So I thought I better try and catch a nap this afternoon. Last year alone I lost 3 friends to cancer, all between the ages of 37 - 44, and my little 4 year old neighbour was diagnosed with neo-blastoma (sp) but fortunatley, he is in remission and doing great!!!!!!

Sorry to be a downer on a Friday but it is going to be a tough night.

I will probably surf alot on here today, cause my mind won't be on my work. so hopefully someone pops by to chat.

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Hey Kim,

What a wonderful selfless act to give of yourself tonight. I'm so sorry to hear of your losses and especially for the little boy. What is his first name? I'll add him to my prayer list.

To be honest... I've been living with the fear of my test results from my Dr. visit last week. I had to have a biopsy due to some pre-cancerous cells on my cervix.

Well, today... I GOT THE GREAT NEWS!!! It's not cancer!! The biopsy was negative, all is fine and I can breathe again. :yay: :yay: :yay:

So, Noah and I went to Build-a-Bear to celebrate and he built himself a Monkey named George!

I'm smiling and my heart is so full of joy. Life IS good!

Hey PM me your email address... I have a email that you might be intereseted in.

Ps. I am sure DD was beautiful, if you have any pic you would like to post, please do so.

Hi guys. Sorry, it's been a few days since I've posted. It's been really busy at work and tonight I found out that my town has lost it's first soldier in Iraq. His Grandmother was my bus driver. Two of his aunts work with my sister in law. He was high school friends with my niece. I'm so sad.

I'll be around more this weekend perhaps. I hope everyone is well.

Hey everyone!!

Tough week is over... I have to work Monday but it's going to be sooo slow (I hope) that I'll get a lot of work done and spend time on here!

I have to update the list soon, we are bringing our sitter with us! She's in college and does so much for us and I can't wait to see how much she loves it! I told her it's a "treat"... no sitting... just relaxing! She's very excited and my son is thrilled!

I hope everyone has a Happy 4th! Fireworks on Sunday for us. Big BBQ at my Brothers and then we all walk into town. The fireworks are shot from barges in the lake (Lake Orion of course). I anticipate it will be a bit sad with lots of talk about our fallen hero - but celebrating the fact that without Men of his character the United States wouldn't be what it is today.

Enjoy the long weekend for those lucky souls that get all 4 days off!

Fireworks last night in our town, they were awesome!

On a sad note, I've heard there is some church in Kansas that disagrees with the war and is coming to the funeral for our fallen soldier to protest! :furious: This poor family has lost enough, why do they have to add to their grief?

pjpoohbear
07-03-2006, 12:02 PM
Why do people do stuff like that, a funeral is for the family and friends of the departed, not an event to make a political point. That is just classless. I really don't see them as following the word of God/Christ by doing this, they should feel shame for their actions. A thought a governing principle of christen religion was forgiveness.

If they have a problem with the war, they should head to Pennsylvania Ave and shout their message there, that is where the decision was made.

Pj

Hockeychic
07-03-2006, 04:12 PM
Hi Penny and Kim1

I agree, isn't the family dealing with enough :furious: Leave them be and if you have a political point to make speak to your local political party don't harrass a family that has just lost a member of its family.

Kim2

Kimmielee
07-03-2006, 05:33 PM
Well, more on the fallen soldier.... a Veteran Motorcycle group is coming too. They will line up in front of the protestors with their bikes and make enough noise that the protestors can't be heard.... and hold up a long, large banner in honor of the soldier so the family can't see the protestors signs.... How sad that it has to come to this. Let him be buried in peace.

Hockeychic

Just checking in. I happily found us on the first page! Hopefully more will join us! I've got Disneyland next month and I'm looking forward to it. Last time we were there we went with another family that wasn't as disney oriented as we were. In fact we went with the same family in April to WDW and they tired out very easily and wanted to go back to the hotel much earlier than we did.

We are going to go to Universal and SeaWorld too. My kids are old enough to appreciate both and won't get scared by the rides at Universal. Staying at the Disneyland Hotel which is so convenient to everything. ;) ;)

I also went to Wal-Mart this morning before my procedure and bought a ton of American Flags, patriotic art, bows and ribbons to decorate my son's day care parking lot and to line the street. The funeral procession for our Fallen Hero will be driving by the day care center and my SIL will call the day care when the procession starts.

This way, all the school age kids (with parents permission of course) will line the road, waving flags and signs showing their respect and support for the family. Not a statement of support for the war, by any means, but a way for the kids to show the family that we mourn their loss too. Since I can't go to the funeral myself, I thought it would be a good way for me to do something.

My heart is still breaking...

I posted this question on the CB, but thought you ladies can help me decide as well. I originally posted a few weeks ago, trying to decide between the Saturn Vue and the Toyota Highlander. I want to buy a new vehicle in September.

Well, today, I saw a bright red, VW Beetle convertible and fell in LOVE :lovestruc  Am I having a mid-life crisis? I had already decided on a Vue... have it all picked out, etc... but oh my, that bug really gave me a bug to own one.... Not nearly as practical but oh so cute! :drive:

One is turning 50 and the other has NEVER had a vacation without her kids. I can't wait to see what the TA comes up with! We want a newer ship (last 3-5 years old), a verandah and at least one of the ports has to be Cozumel!

Any of you ever done a Non-Disney cruise that you would recommend? :yay:

I have cruised on Carnival in Feb, it was on Celebration but it is a much older ship. It was OK but it showed it's age.

This October I am going on Miracle which does western Caribbean out of Tampa and they go to Cozumel, Grand Caymen, Belize and Costa Maya. It was built in 2004 and is the same size was Magic. However, I can't tell you much else until after October.

 I'm open to anything.... the t-shirts sound nice but extremely high priced.... that was $30 a shirt if I am doing the math right... hold on, let me take off my shoes to count... yup, that's expensive!

I think I could find a shirt company to do them for much less.... if we could do T-shirts for around $10-$15 would anyone be interested? Edited to add: After posting this I went on line, found a custom T-shirt place that has a wide variety of sizes and put on the front of a LIME green shirt "The Official DIS Cruisers Haunted Halloween Cruise October 27, 2007 and you would not believe the price... it was less than $8 for shipping and everything. That was for 35 shirts.... I'm sure the price goes up with less shirts... I could send out the shirts once I get them through work... :rolleyes1 .. I think we could do this. Now, the wording... that was just off the top of my head. We could have names on the back of the shirts too... that's another $4.50 each... but not sure how we all feel about names, etc. So... let's talk!!

Well, our fallen soldier was buried yesterday. You couldn't even drive through town with a dry eye. There were almost 200 Patriot Riders and no one was protesting. The PR's each had a full size American flag and dismounted their bikes, stood shoulder to shoulder, lining the road leading to the high school and the high school parking lot. Over 1200 mourners came to pay their respects. I found it especially hard talking to my Brother after (he called me) because he kept saying "It could have been Kevin, it could have been Kevin"... his son, my nephew, that spent 8 months in Iraq last year.

The uncle of our fallen soldier is a local deputy and I don't know if they would have done this if there wasn't a police connection... but they closed both sides of I-75 down for the funeral procession to go to another town. It was about a 18 mile drive. All the on/off ramps were blocked by a police car and each police officer was saluting as the cars went by.

I can't describe this without tears rolling down my face... I wasn't even there. This is coming from my Brother and my niece. Imagine seeing it.

On a happier note :) .... I'm torn about taking DS (6) to see POC. pirate: Some have taken their younger children and are ok, others have seen it and said no way. He LOVED the first one, watches Spiderman, Star Wars, etc... If I'm there and need to block his eyes... that should be ok don't you think? :rolleyes1

Our TA found us a great price on the RCCL Freedom of the Seas for our girl trip next April.... We will probably book that at the end of this month! :dance3: Great ports!

Otherwise, for me... this weekend is about rest and cleaning.... Ladies, have a wonderful, relaxing weekend! I'm sure I'll pop on every now and then...

Good Morning. It was pretty expensive but that included converting to US funds and shipping to Canada......I am in for whatever, but not sure I want my daugthers name on her shirt but wouldn't care if mine was on there. I now regret not getting at least one of the shirts, that would have been pretty cheap but when buying for 4.....yikes.....this time there is only the 2 of us.

What one of the families did last year was make up name tags for all the adults...using there screen names.....it was fun and helped put faces to the names.

Glad to hear the funeral didn't have any protests, my DS just turned 17 and it terrifies me that some of the kids over there fighting and giving the ultimate sacrifice are not much older then him.

I am going on Carnival Miracle in October of this year and we picked it also for the ports, and my first balcony :dance3:

Not sure what I am doing this weekend, really don't feel like doing anything  DS is at drivers training, DH is sealing the drive way and I have no idea what DD is doing....she is still sleeping.... princess: SO maybe I will just chill today and work on my packing list....not that I haven't been working on it since I booked last November :lmao:

Oh well, have a great weekend all, I am sure I will be back later.

Kim2 I think the names on the shirts is probably an added expense that we don't need. I really like the idea of the name tags with our screen names! :thumbsup2

Have fun with your first balcony.... (or as I call them verandah... dahling...) I've never cruised without one.... thought I would be seasick and want the fresh air... now I realize it's just cuz I'm spoiled! :cloud9:

My very first cruise was the Carnival Glory and I loved every minute of it!

I've been lazy today... one load of laundry washed, not yet in the dryer and I threw all the paper stuff laying about in the kitchen but didn't do the dishes... what's wrong with me? :confused3

How is this for a design for our t-shirt?

Link to our T-Shirt design #1 (http://customink.com/cink/r.jsp?E=kimmielee%40comcast.net&F=kimmielee4)

I need to tweak the spacing, etc... but you get the general idea... as shown, if we order 35, it's only about all the shirts are between $7 and $10 a shirt to get them all sent to me, then postage to you guys but I can't imagine that's too expensive....

The site is customink.com. Anyone with a creative bone, have at it! I'm not the most creative person!

Ok, I'm bored... here are a few more.... if you double click on the shirt it makes it larger and gives you an option to zoom....

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to post and report that we are not going to be able to go on this sailing. I have taken a job at the one of the local middle schools and I am starting at the begining of the year.

I really hate that we are not going to be able to go, especially after seeing the neat shirts you all are doing.

I hope you all have a great time planning and preparing.

Can I join?~?~?

Let me introduce ourselves Me(35) DS6, will be 8 on cruise!

I'm planning a trip with just us 2 but have told friends and family they are more than welcome to join us. I use the same line I always use, "We are going with or without you. If you want to come then come. If you don't, we are going anyway!" They get the point. I don't like anyone to feel like they have to do something b/c I asked them to.

We've been on 2 cruises together so far. The first was on Celebrity when DS was 3 1/2. Eastern Carribean with my dad's family. Had a blast but DS was a little too young for me.
Second was Carnival Sensation out of New Orleans. DS was 5 1/2. We had a blast. I live in Mississippi so we were able to just drive to port and hop on boat. We had to dodge Tropical Storms Dennis and Cindy I believe while we were at sea. We missed Costa Maya and docked a day early in Cozumel and spent the night there. WOWZA! I'm glad it was just DS and I. We went for lunch at Senor Frogs and had a blast. If it'd been me and my girlfriends, I might not have been able to remember Senor Frogs. :smokin: DS got to dance on the dancefloor when they sprayed all the bubbles out. He thought it was great. Now, it was lunch time and there were other families there before y'all start thinking I'm a bad mom.

I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all and meeting up with you on the ship. Please let me know when to order the Tshirts. I kinda like the one with the pirate/skull on the front and the ship on the back. I know I'm new and my opinion doesn't mean much, just wanted to put my 2 cents in though :teeth:

:welcome: We are glad to have you join us!! My son will be 8 when we cruise too. It's him, myself (46 then OUCH) and our sitter who will be 24 when we sail. She's not coming to sit... she's coming to have fun!

Do you have early or late dining?

My DS and I went on the Wonder in April and he LOVED the clubs. I have named the Disney Cruise as the perfect single/solo Mom cruise ever. I read 3 books in 4 days. It rocked.

So, again... welcome, jump right in and of course your opinion counts! I'm going to keep updating the T-shirt choices since we have plenty of time. I'm hoping they come out with more graphics and trying to find out if I can find a Mickey Pirate graphic... and if they will print it if I do find one!

I'll update our group list after this post.

He likes the actual sparring part of it. He goes to tournaments and competes in kata and kumite. Kata is a series of moves like you are fighting an imaginary opponent. You are judged on stances, form and percision. Kumite is the sparring part. He likes to put the pads on and fight! They are very strict about where they can hit and kick each other. I don't get too nervous now b/c they are so young they don't hurt each other too much. There is a girl in his division that fights all the boys and never flinches. The boys that she's beaten usually cry b/c a girl beat them  . Thank goodness Ethan hasn't fought her yet. One of them has been eliminated before they have to fight! He's gotten 2nd place in kata several times and 3rd and 4th in kumite. My step-brother and step-dad are both black belts and Ethan has to show them what he's learned. Very cute.

One more thing, do y'all have any particular excursions in mind? I'm leaning toward snorkling off a catamaran on St. John. I've been to St. Thomas 3 times and LOVE it. I've never been to Trunk Bay and snorkled. DS will be 8 then and that is the minimum age. exInlaws have pool so we will be practicing our skills there :fish: . We've also been to St Martin. I don't know why ppl don't like this island! We went to the beach right by the pier and hung out all day. We went on the jet-skies (that doesn't look right, but you know what I mean :p) and since we were the first customers of the day we got a discount and got to stay out a little longer. I think one of the guys was sweet  on me b/c he stopped us just to chat. Asking me where I was from and stuff with my DS3 1/2 at the time b/t my legs on the jet ski  !
He finally let us finish our ride and gave us a little extra time! I let DS have the wheel and he knew 2 speeds- wide open and stop! We had a blast. I didn't do much shopping there as I usually go shopping in St Thomas. I know it's early, but you can never plan too far in advance! LOL! :hourglass

Definatley doing Parasailing on Castaway Cay.....and the Paradise Tram in St Thomas. Last time we where there, we did a private tour in St Thomas, he was amazing it was called Sunny Liston Tours if anyone is interested. In St Marten, might just take the water taxi and do some shopping.

I can't wait till we can booked excursions, always nerve racking hoping to get what you want to do.

Haven't decided on excursions yet... Noah is learning how to snorkel and is loving it. However, he hated the salt water at CC and whenever I bring up snorkeling on the cruise he asks if it's good water or bad water.

I definately want to shop on St. Thomas.... I want a really nice tanzanite ring. I bought one at Marshall Fields and it is sooo pale in comparison. I think they had a purple lamp on it when I had it! :lmao:

I bought a great Tanzanite, diamond and white gold ring in St Thomas last time we were there! Everyone comments on it when I wear it. I use it as my "right hand" ring. This time around I haven't decided what "the" item is. I know you can get some killer deals there. I may splurge on some diamond earrings. I'm also a bracelet person. I may check out the bracelets with semi-precious stones. I like diamonds, but I also like color!

Good Morning,

Last time, I found a beautiful diamond and sapphire ring in St Marten...bartered down to what I was willing to pay then changed my mind thinking I would find something else in St Thomas...but didn't so I said to DH next time I get back to St Marten I will get it...so that will be my mission to go back and try and find "the ring" I am not big on jewellery but it was the one thing I really want.

I am not a fan of salt water either...I don't like it so I just lie on the beach :teeth:

I've only been in an oceanview room but since this trip is more $ I'm going inside :smooth: . I'm also going to stay at POP or All Star Movie resort for the night before. We have booked a inside cabin on this cruise we well. For the price difference and the amount of time I spent in the cabin on the last cruise I couldn't justify the addl cost. I think most if not all of us are on deck 6.

I have stayed at Movies and POP and both where fine. We haven't decided if we are going to stay at WDW before or just at the Radisson. I think we will stay at Music if we stay at WDW because it is the only value we haven't stayed at yet. :goodvibes. It is all going to depend on if we rent a car to go to port or do a town car. I think we will rent however....but haven't gotten that far yet. I do know we will fly in at least the night before.

vital, check to see is any of the deck 6 sideways cat 11s are still open. They are a great option, one enters the room across from the sofa. The bathroom/closet is on one side of the room, the bed/tv/desk on the other. But no long hallway to get down, you enter in to the middle of the stateroom. I am in 6515 "my" room, lol.
