We were wondering that, but PJ mentioned a good plan recently: book now, when the dates first open (usually lowest pricing). Check discounts and pricing while on-board. If cheaper, re-book then with discount and cancel previous booking.
The price for our cat 7 in 10/07 is about $70 less than what our 2008 cat 6 will be. (I think I saw where a cat 7 on the 10/07 cruise is now about $250 more than we are paying)
Accomplished today? Oh, there was laundry :laundy: ,grocery shopping, gas in the autos, and a whole lotta DCL planning! :woohoo: Just got the new Passporter, and have penciled in PJ's plaplap dining rotation, ports of call, etc into the calendar. Fine tuning Palo thoughts. Reading up on shore excursions.
Do not cancel, have the pervious booking transferred!

Wow, those are big differences... I imagine a big price change goes with it!
Ok.... the cruise I was looking at for December of 2008... is $2700 MORE than the Halloween cruise. So... looks like we'll be a double dipper next year too! :cool1:

Hey PJ - if I book this one through a TA... when I price the offer when on our cruise.... if it's better with the 10% discount and $200 OBC, do they transfer the deposit too? Thanks for the helpful info!!:goodvibes
I'm looking mid-ship Cat 6 right now. Our first cruise was a Cat 6 on Deck 5 in 5622 and I LOVED only having one "neighbor" but the life boats to my left were a bit in the way of some pictures! I imagine on Deck 6 you can't see the boats at all!
This Halloween we are in 6078. :cool1:

The only people who I've know who have done the transfer of funds from same cruise to same cruise onboard for OBC and discount were not using a TA at the time, many have transfer it to a TA afterwards, best to see what the main board knows about this situation.

I've got a request for a quote in at DL and with my TA. I'll book the Halloween DD to Costa Maya soon. Most likely directly with DCL to avoid the deposit issue. Hopefully the 10% discount and the OBC (which my TA usually matches) will be worth it! OH MY GOSH, I'm addicted to DCL!!
Intervention is needed!!!! :scared1:
I think we'll do a quick 4-5 day trip to WDW in March 2008 as well. That will hold us over! I need a second job.... 1-900-Kimmielee isn't paying out enough now!!!

DW finally got something she's really wanted: a universal remote for the tv/vcr/dvd. :happytv: After an hour of programming our components into the computer, we think we've achieved success. Except for the fact that the stereo system isn't hooked to any of the other components, so we spent time programming it into the remote for nothing. Over/under on rer's time for the same tasks is 15 minutes, per DW. :surfweb:
I looked at the 4/06 Eastern Navigators on the DIS yesterday, and am hoping they'll have the digital photography seminar on our cruise. I think gaining experience with digital photography is next on our technology to-do list.

Just Checking In............still need to CUOP!!!
Wonderful news as it seems DH did not have any members in the area that was hit by the Tornado's. The news coverage here shows such devastation.
I have not been on-line much this weekend because both DH and DD have awful colds and are running me ragged LOL, I finally got DD to lay down and read a book ( nap;) ) and DH is settling in to watch the Superbowl. Atleast I am not hosting a house full of crazy football fans this year, since our house is now known as the SICK FAMILY house LOL.
DH and I are trying to figure out which cruise we will book while on board??
DH thinks the DS boards are harboring a secret porthole that goes straight into our bank account :wizard: ( That's Disney Magic for ya )
Ok, I am going to go CUOP and then hopefully I will be able to come back and hang out for awhile.:cool1:

EWWWW I HATE RATS!!!
Melanie........I hope you feel better soon!!!
Vital: I have a cat that leaves me presents too..She is 14 years young and is the GREASTEST cat EVER!!! ( ok well I don't like the presents much, but it is the thought that counts:cutie: )
A Flying NURSE HOW COOL IS THAT!!!
Looks like Dh and I need to look into the DD cruise for Oct. 25th 2008, We couldn't book right now though but could in a few months. Would that be better than waiting to book on board????

Paula - I'm glad you had a great time! http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t223/KimmieleeInLO/Rotary-05-june.gif I was thinking of you earlier. How cool to realize a dream!! :goodvibes
Pam, I'd book as soon as you can come up with the deposit. IF prices go up too much then you'll have a better price than rebooking on board, even with the 10% discount and the $200 OBC. However, if not.... then you'll have a lock on the room you want AND have the deposit all done!
I'm booking mine in about 2 weeks when my bonus comes. I don't want to take $$$ out of savings for the deposit. Also, I got a quote from DU and it was the same as the DCL website... but with an OBC of $200. My regular TA will match the OBC when I rebook on board and have it switched to her so I end up with $400! IF the prices go up significantly, I might lose but I'll take my chances. :cool1:
Maria - give high 5's to Mckenna and Holly for their report cards! Isn't it funny that our "grades" are opposite one another? Or.... did I read Noah's report card wrong? OH MY :scared1: ... just kidding... they are opposite.

We were half-way down page 2. I fell asleep during the 3rd quarter but managed to wake up for the Colts getting the trophy! At least I didn't miss most of the commercials.
I REALLY need a vacation! I'm trying to think of what we can do over spring break to help me out some. I think it's the fact that we've really only seen the sun for 3 good days out of 21. I'm used to sunny weather. It's been too cold to go outside and enjoy the sun when it's out. It can really have an effect on me. It used to be we could just drive down to our beach and grab a room for a couple of nights but since Katrina, all of that has changed. Oh well, I'll quit complaining now and hop in the shower.

Come to Michigan... it's beautiful and sunny :goodvibes Oh and did I mention that with the windchill it's 25 degrees BELOW ZERO????????? They cancelled school today. It's not a "snow day", it's a "COLD day"! :lmao: I can't remember the last time they did that!
Noah's ears weren't improving. He was crying when he had to swallow so we are on new meds... until he can swallow without crying/screaming... he's home with me. So.... here I am! :yay:

Good Morning everyone. Well once AGAIN the schools are closed and we are getting battered with OMG possibally 2 more feet of snow :scared1: , thank God it melts a bit in between because our house would be buried by now. Wind chilla are -25 , it is horrible so I am with you Paula , a nice trip down south sounds really good about now :thumbsup2. I called work and they said don't bother coming in since it is so bad out. Many many accidents have been broadcasted already. We are so getting paid back for the mild December and January.
I am not sure what to do about the "08" DD. I know there are alot of items on our to do list including a 20x30 cedar shed and finishing off our countertops with corian, we started it but since the one side is almost 30 feet long we have put that on eventually list. We have a few weekly vacations planned this year including Jellystone Camping and Lake George Adronidacks family vacation. We are renting a cabin for the week and going to Six Flags and other area attractions.
We are thinking of possibally going on one of the new RCCL ships to the deep South and then coming back to Disney maybe the following year. We have done the St Thomas and St Maarteen iternary for the past 6 cruises and I really would like a change, I LOVE the Southern Carib islands
Pam, Glad to hear your family is alright :yay:
Paula, how wonderful you were able to do something you have been dreaming about , maybe someday you will be onboard that helicopter . :)

Oh , I forgot .
Did anyone see where the man from Texas lost 70 pounds in 7 months on the water diet ? He drank 3 glasses of water at each meal , 1 before, 1 after and 1 during. Others have claimed that they lost weight doing the same thing. It actually makes alot of sense when you think about it. Not only is it helping to fill you up faster but it does flush some salts and other stuff out of your system, not fat however but I think thats where the filling you up sooner comes in. He also said he ate desert everynight , thats what really matters :thumbsup2

I was going to have 10 hours of overtime on this next check until my DS calls me from school. Now we are about to go to the doctor and get his snotty nose, stomach ache and chest pain dealt with. Sometimes I think it's bad for nurses to have children, we NEVER believe they are sick until they are dang near in the hospital:sad2: . Poor thing never gets any sympathy!
Anywho, he's sick so I'll join y'all again when we get back from doc and pharmacy. The sun is out again today but it's still only in the 40's. YUCK! WHEN WILL I BE HOT AGAIN? WAAAAH WAAAAH!

Melanie, I too am sooooooo ready to go. The worst part for me is our trip is paid in full and I know we can leave tomorrow if I wanted to, but I know I would miss a wonderful bunch if we changed, but I am so ready especially after this storm.
I have been reading lots & lots of trip reports and figure if I do this for the next 8 months it may help with my Disney cruise withdrawal, yes I have been having it since we disembarked from our April cruise. Most reports are very well written and quite entertaining.
Back to reading more, or maybe I should play with the girls before their bedtime, O.K girls it's your time :)
I'll be back later

Ahh, lake effect snow. Didn't get too much of that in Vestal, but I remember a few times... I also remember playing snowball fetch with our Lab in the winter. How he'd bury his face in the spot where the snowball landed. The weather here in Pa tends to run about 7-10 degrees warmer than at Mom and Dad's. When they visit in Spring or Fall, they can often see the difference in the plant life.
Best wishes for all those who are ill. We've got a few really sick folks in my department at work. Those of us not sick are wiping down everything in sight.
Our plans for this summer include multiple trips to upstate NY. To the family place in the Finger Lakes. I get more time off than Christine, so she's working an extra day here and there, banking the time, and planning to use it later. This way, we can get in our usual 5 or so trips up there, plus the cruise.

I could buy into this one, I did this on the ship, just by chance, and I lost 10lb during the week. Now I did have more activity, but as you can see I would so believe this is possible.

I had dessert every night as well, and only chose the sugar-free option, which are rarely lower calorie, one night. Literally outfits I brought on board that fit perfectly, were baggy by the end of the week. I would love to cruise for a couple of months, lol, just to run out the whole experiment.

Is that the backstage safari? The Unofficial Guide describes it as, "a glimpse of how the animals are housed and cared for. Animal keepers and vets discuss conservation, animal nutrition, behavioral studies, and medicine. You'll see animal enclosures, feed bins, medical facilities, and labs, but not many animals."
In 2001, Christine and I arrived at the Conservation Station as they were performing an endoscopy on a cheetah. She wormed her way up front, right by the glass, and it took me about a half hour to find her. It was amazing. And, my photos came out great too! Now, whenever we're at AK, we always ask a CM if they could find out what procedures are on-tap for that day. The morning is the best time, from what we've heard.

Chris, Try Lowry park Zoo. (google for their web address) I think they have feeding/mentoring programs. I will research/call for you when I get a minute this afternoon. The competition sits NEXT to me... literally, they are one row over on the client site. As much as they are the "competition" they are also friends.
Well, our version of the merger announcement given to our employees did NOT mention job duplications, severences, etc. THEIRS did.
They (the competition) do not have a ME - and that has always been a big part of why our market share is so high.

We're going through one merger now, and there are rumors that the Spanish bank that just bought us is going to be bought be an English bank:confused3 . We are a Cat 9 on deck 2 also! I like being on the lower decks b/c if you are prone to seasickness you don't feel the movement as much down there. I like being able to look out of the window and see the waves!
Maybe I'll get upgraded since I booked in July! Even if I don't, I'll be satisfied. I looked at the difference for a Cat 6 and it's over $1000:scared1: A balcony would be nice, but not worth that much for as little as I hope to be in my room. The review thing was down so I couldn't see why it was rated a 1.... just that it was.

We are feeling a little better. Now I'm wondering should I keep E home from school and take a chance that he'll call me at 0930 b/c he feels bad, or should I keep him home and wonder why I didn't go ahead and send him to school. AAAAAAaah, the life of a mother. I know how I react when I see a sick kid at school. I wonder how a parent could send their kid to school like that. He'll have been on antibiotics for 2 days and hasn't been running a fever, but he looks pasty. My throat still hurts and my nose is stopped up. Dang, why am I rambling and boring all of y'all?:lmao:
Anywho, glad to see we are growing in number! Maria, you are scaring me. I was thinking that my bar bill wouldn't be so bad on this cruise, now I'm wondering if I should work an overtime day just for the bar tab!http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/eatdrink055.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org)

I was so well behaved on the past 2 cruises since I wanted the girls to have a wonderful vacation. I think we drank maybe 6 drinks the entire cruise. THATS over now, this is going to be Mommy and Daddys cruise too this time :woohoo: :drinking1
I have figured out the margarita http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/eatdrink043.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org) tasting times so if anyone would like to join me?
Sunday at 4:00
Monday - margarita and tequilla tasting , dear lord I don't mix my booze well :rotfl: 4:00
Thursday - 2:00
I hope they let me do all of them .

Ok, a funny thing happened on my way to the DIS boards tonight..........DH came home from a business trip tonight and brought home some Mardi Gras Pirate beads ( Mardi gras in Alabama??? Who knew???) anyhow, The beads were awesome, perfect for pirate night except the large medalion at the bottom was a half naked lady. So I say to DH, thats ok we will just unattach the lady and then the beads will be fine. Well I take my handy scissors, and YEP you guessed it she was not tied off and the ENTIRE string of beads went sailing across our hard wood floors and throughout the greatroom...........and YES I made DH help me gather them all up so I could restring them, afterall, they WERE perfect for pirate night. pirate: pirate:

Ok, I put in a request for the private room at Palo for Brunch, it will seat 14 max, so the first 12 adults whose names (first/last) and staterooms are PM'ed to me, will be handed in for the request. Will go by time stamp on PM. Requests are looked at 30 days pre-cruise and so anyone on the request list, should still book a brunch independently.

I cannot believe this! Another 12 inches today and the schools are on a 2 hour delay, thats 3 days in a row. We have probally 2-3 feet already, we don't need anymore. I will probally get fired if I don't go into work today so please wish me well driving in this . I'm sure I'll be in tears the whole way in and it will take 1 1/2 hours compared to my typical 45 minutes.
We live in Oswego NY and have been plastered all over the news. I saw a segment this morning on GMA already about us.
Looks like all this week we are in for Lake Effect snow.

Take Care driving. We will say a prayer.
DH's client gave him the beads. The client is working on a float for his company and so he had "beads to spare". DH had to remove the half naked lady because I wouldn't want him wearing "that" around his neck. It had two pirate flags with skulls also that I felt were just as appropriate;) Hopefully when he sees this client again he will have some more. I would love to have some to hand out.
Hope everyone has a Magical day:wizard:

Good Morning all!
First, about Mardi Gras in Alabama. In Mobile is where Mardi Gras was originated. It's not a big party city so you never really hear much about it. It's a great place to take kids for the parades. We also have Mardi Gras on our coast (what's left of it). If y'all want me to, I can get beads from the shops in New Orleans. We have a St Patrick's Day parade here in Jackson, MS that rivals the Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans. I'm on a float in it so I'll post some pics then. It's a LOT of fun. No, Ethan doesn't get to go. It's a mommy thing. I always save the best beads for him though.

You have NO idea how many people ask me that :) . My friend at work just asked last week. :rotfl2: He has 2 brothers but they are taken :sad1: Its funny because he is so laid back that you may not see his hystertical side, OMG he is funny as hell. I'm hoping he opens up a bit more then the past cruise. His family I swear are decendents of Einstein, simply genuises, his cousins have been on Jeopardy and won a few times. Good Lord if I can remember my name from day to day I'm good. :lmao:
I know it is killing our district to have had the schools closed for 3 days, looks like tomorrow also, "the funding the funding" I'm sure they are all crying.
Thats odd that they opened yours today since the weather hasn't changed. I can never understand what the Superintentents are drinking in the morning when they call the shots but it certainly isn't coffee :) Ours has been on 2 hour delays the past few days . OMG it's a blizzard and -25 what are they waiting for? glaciers to slide in, storm of the century, the perfect storm, WHAT DO THEY WANT???? Lets see school is at 9:00 delay until 8:30, o.k now were closing, HELLO I drive and need more time since 2 miles an hour would only get me out of our driveway. Another 2 MPH may get me past my neighbors in this stuff. So 25 mintues for a 2 mile drive :rotfl:
O.k that was my rant for today :rotfl2:

It seemed to me that it was hit or miss. Supposedly the middle is better, but a lot of those reviews said those rooms were loud due to the restaurants being above them. :confused3

I know some of you are nurses. Paula and I thought someone else . Is it something I should be worrying so much about? It crosses my mind every now and then, tonight being one of them. It's probally due to being couped up in this darn house for 4 days . :confused3
I'm quite sure my ever so lovely PMS is kicking in to to help me in my crying mood swing :rotfl2:
I completely understand. Noah was born with hypospadius which meant he needed an operation between 1 year and 18 months. It was something needed - for many reasons and I was so nervous with the anesthsia portion. He did fine.... he actually did great! They have come even further in the last 5 years with perfecting doses and type, etc... and even though I'm not a nurse (I just play one on tv) I am a Mom and I feel your turmoil. We'll all say prayers now and when it's time for the surgery.... and McKenna will be in wonderful hands!

I understand your concern over anesthesia. Most people worry about the surgery itself but they don't realize how important the anestesiologist is in the surgery. Ethan has had 3 surgeries and everytime I felt like I was going to throw up when he went back. Kim's right, the medicine's they use are much less complicated than in the old days. I use the same drugs on people just in smaller doses to do procedures and they do just fine. You should be concerned because it's your baby, but I wouldn't be too focused on the anesthesia. The doctor's will base everything on her weight and she'll be just fine!
PS I know what you mean about PMS!

Well, as you can see, I'm home again. Ethan couldn't make it for long at school. We're going back to the doctor's office to see if he needs to change antibiotics. He seemed fine last night and this morning. When I picked him up from school a little while ago he looked like crap. He is wearing me out!
CAN WE GO YET?

I feel sorry for her daughter. She doesn't know who her dad is, her mom and brother are dead and she's going to be the center of a custody battle. Good Grief! If the autopsy comes back with something wrong with her heart, I bet there will be all kinds of TrimSpa lawsuits. Hide and watch.

It is sad about Anna Nicole. I wonder if it was suicide?drugs? The woman has had a rough go of it lately. They never have even made a final ruling on her son's death have they? I'm with Paula....I feel so bad for that baby girl.
Maria...62 inches :scared1. I can't even imagine. I have ordered a few things for my Mary Poppins costume so I am right there with ya on the costumes for Halloween. And  for McKenna's surgery. I was a pediatric nurse for 12 years & the drugs are so much better & safer now....try not to worry about it too much (easier said than done I know) but I sent kids (not my own granted) for surgery every day & they did fine. Will it be done in a pediatric hospital?
Do we get to see any pictures from your trip Ronnie...you know a little look at the muddaland to help ease our pain of still having SO LONG to wait????

Paula , Do you have a boxer? I LOVE them  . Our Samoyed passed away last year and we have been searching all over NY for another one, she was our baby . I should have her in my signature as well but I don't think I have any wonderful pictures, the only nice ones we have are 35mm.
I think the case for Anna was settled through the Supreme Court, but I am not positive.
Melanie, Mary Poppins, wow, are you making it? I still have to win my Minnie costume. they list them all the time so I am holding out for a deal :)
I did order a top to my swimsuit. i bought a 2 piece skirt and tankini set last year and I hate the top, no support :scared1: So I did find a plain black one that I hope will match.
Anyone watch Survivor?

My Dad is doing very well. He is 81 and a very "outdoor" type. He spent many, many summers in the garden. He always had beautiful flower gardens and yummy vegetable gardens. My childhood home was sitting on 1 acre of land and there wasn't much mowing to do because of his gardens. Anyway, too much sun and he's now got skin cancer. They took a tumor off of his ear and the biggest one was on top of his head.
He called me on Sunday and said ... "The Doctor wants to know where I have some skin that hasn't been exposed to the sun to put on my head. He wants to take it from my butt! I won't let him because you guys will call me a butt head!" :lmao: Gotta love it. They ended up taking skin from the back of his neck. :thumbsup2
I'm very blessed that he's as healthy as he is. 81 and no daily meds needed. Just this silly skin cancer that they believe is truly on the surface and not invasive. Amen.

Kimmi . We do have an Applebees :worship: Thank you , Thank you  :rotfl2: I am definetely going to have to get some.
I'm so glad to hear your Dad is doing fine, it's a scary thing. My Dad sounds ALOT like yours. We walks evey single day for miles. He had gardens when we grew up also and is a not stop worker even to this day , he just can't sit. He comes comes out to help here all the time to mow our 3 acreas, gives him something to do I think. He had a pace maker put in a year ago due to some heart problems. I'm sure you guys will just LOVE him when you met him onboard.
It seems skin cancer is running rampid with many people I know. I lost my cousin at 21 due to it. Recently a few others. You would think I should have learned my lesson but I believe I am in it so much in the Summer because we typically have 5 months without it.
Hope you guys all have a wonderful weekend. :)

The SUN is out today! WOOOHOOOOOO! It's supposed to hit 50! I never thought 50 would sound so good! I'm making honey butter biscuites (canned if you must know) and then dragging my son outside for the day. We were supposed to go to my hometown about 70 miles south of here to plant trees with his boy scout troop but can't go b/c of his pneumonia. Sucks b/c that town, Hattiesburg, lost a TON of trees to Katrina. I was looking forward to going and eating some food that you can only get there. Oh well, maybe next time.
Kim, I'm so glad your dad is doing good! Too bad he can't go on the cruise with us! Maria's dad and he could hang out and talk about gardening!
About skin cancer. I worked in Radiology before I went back to the ER. We would diagnose people with skin cancer and I'm here to tell you that it's NOT all from the sun. Sure, the sun may exacerbate some but I'm not so sure it's the total cause like the media and some doctors think. I've seen a melanoma, the deadly kind, on the inside folds of a black lady's ******. Now you tell me when the last time that saw the sun. I've also seen it between someone's toes. I'm not saying to go fry in the sun, I'm just stating my opinion. Have y'all seen the sporadic news reports about ppl not getting enoug Vit D since the craze about sunscreen started? I've also seen a report where they now think that some of the ingredients in sunscreen may cause cancer. If you think about it, anything can cause cancer! I'll still get in the tanning bed a few times before my vacation, and I'll still lay out on the beach. I wear more protection than I used to b/c I don't want too many wrinkles. That may be stupid, but I don't want to miss out on LIFE trying not to get something I may or may not get anyway. Does that make sense? OK, off my soapbox now!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That is for the snorkeling/drinking story. :lmao:
On our last cruise, I had booked parasailing at CC. We got there late due to at least one aborted attempt at docking. got off the ship & went right to Marges Barges to sign in. Tha Bahamians running it said they need to go out and check the wind to see if we will be parasailing today. "go sit at the tables over there & we will come get you when we know." so we sat there along with a few other groups. It seemed like a long time and we eventually realized that all the other groups had left. So we went back to Marge's hut to inquire. "nobody came to tell you? we cancelled your parasailing due to the winds. you have 2 options: get on the list for the afternoon; if the wind conditions improve, we can do it. or, get a refund." We chose the refund. It did not look like conditions would improve, and we kindof got a bad impression of the tour operator. It turned out we chose the correct option. The rain poured down about 45 minutes later.
:boat:
So, despite our somewhat negative experience, I DO believe that they are very safety-minded are aware of wind conditions. It seemed to me that they would only do parasailing if the wind was okay.
This past fall at the Contemporary, I convinced Sean to do parasailing with me.:cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:
That pretty much sums it up. We brought our camera & took pictures, including backstage areas at MK. Now that my need to parasail has been satisfied, we will not be booking that excursion again.
So, I can not comment on the actual experience at CC, but I imagine it would be awesome! I love the feeling of flying/floating very high up, and being able to see everything. Just think, it is a view that very few people will experience, and you'll have the pictures to prove it.
Now for the dolphin encounter...must work on convincing Sean :scratchin ::yes::
Must go, the gym is calling
Have a great day!

Here's a question. Does anyone know if on the parasailing boat at CC they use a motorized winch or do they have to crank it by hand? When we did it at CR, it was motorized. When our time was up, the "captain" pressed a button and we were slowly brought down to the boat. It is probably better than a person cranking a winch and fighting the wind.
Just a thought.

Feel Like I have been away for weeks.........................I am returning from DEATH LOL, my "Death Bed" that is. I guess my DH and DD thought it would be kind to share BOTH of their germs with me, so I now have the flu with a wicked case of Strep throat to go along with it. I am up and around today, thought I would check in. Silly, but I missed logging in and seeing what everyone was up to. I haven't CUOP'd so I don't know what I've missed. Just thought I would drop in. Hope everyone is well!!!! I am going to lay down but hopwfully will be back later.

Good Morning Christine
You have been a busy girl already this morning.
Try the Christmas present thing :) . I figured I was possibally staring almost $700.00 in the face since I promised Barry I would pay for everything we did on the trip including the onboard bill :scared1: . I know he didn't see the whole cruise thing coming for this fall.
I don't think that we are taking the girls on the Dolphin Encounter unless we win money from somewhere, I'm not so sure they will remember it enough to justify the cost. However the rest of the shore time beside the 45 minutes at CC will be spent with them. I know they will want to go to the Oceaneers Club at CC for a bit so we am hoping to jump over to Sernity Bay for a little while.
I did parasailing in Paradise Island while I stayed there for a week in Sept of "88". It was absolulety gorgeous and it seemed to be quite a bit longer then the air time of 5-7 mintes at CC, that seems short. I have not been back to Paradise Island since Atlantis was built, I can only imagine the difference.
Oh, heres another one of my blonde moments :rotfl2:
We stayed on PI for the week and I had such a hard time sleeping since it was my first trip to any island. I must have fallen asleep at a funny time because I remember getting up going outside and walking down towards the beach and finding a cozy little spot on a beach. I came across a local that said to me "What are doing mon ? I said I am waiting for the beach to open. He says "Well mon, you have quite a long time since it is only 1:00am. :rotfl: :lmao:

I've had a roast in the crock pot since last night and it's smelling really good! I'm going to make mashed potatoes to go with it. YUMMY!
Kim, how did it go last night? Hope it went good!

Thats right Kimmi I fogot yesterday was the radio Disney and Road to (not going to try to spell it ):rotfl:
I am hoping to take the girls to see it the week they have off from school. I have to keep them busy that week. Maybe the Zoo and The Most Museum.
Paula, a roast sounds so good. DH makes most of the meals and I have to say he is quite the chef. Me I can't cook to save my life. But I can clean up a storm :) So you can only imagine the meals the girls and I have been eatting :rolleyes1 . The school gives the girls Pizza Hut coupons for a free pizza if they read 10 in a month, so that seems to cover 1 night. The rest of the time we are pillaging for food :rotfl:
Off to work, the first day in over a week. I got spoiled!

Melanie, I see you've been to MNSSHP before. Is it really worth it? I keep fighting myself about going. I was considering going to MK that day and MGM that night while the MNSSHP was happening at MK. I guess my only hesitation is how crowded it will be. I don't want to start my vacation fighting with people for a spot to watch the parade. How crowded is it really? Thanks!pirate:

DW came to me last night and said, "I'm starting to think we should stay at WDW the night before the cruise. To start the magic a day early." Hmmm.
Prior cruisers: when getting off the ship at ports of call, what do you need to bring with you? ID-wise. Is a Passport necessary, or just photo ID? We've never gotten off the ship before (except at CC).

Paula,
I love MNSSHP. I think it's a really fun way to see some Halloween themed stuff & it usually is not so crowded that you feel like you are fighting for things. Like PJ says we usually watch the 2nd parade. The parade & fireworks are AWESOME. If you don't care much about trick or treating you can really ride a whole lot of ride without much of a wait.....we even did this once on Halloween night. You can get in with your party tickets around 4 & do some stuff before hand too!!!!
Hope this helps.

That's the whole point of paying extra for MNSSHP, the tickets are limited and the park is NOT full capacity!!! You get to ride the rides without the longer waits, etc. The trick is getting dinner ressies IN the park so you are there when they "re-open" - which I thought was later than 4. I'll have to go do some digging for details.

Thanks so much!! Yes, Lee is my middle name. I have very southern parents. It's Kimberly Lee and my last name. NO one was allowed to call me Kimmie when I was little. Then about 12 years ago, I took a new job at a bank and the President's office was right next to mine. He was new to the company too and the very first time I met him he says... "I think I'll call you Kimmie. You look like a Kimmie." How in the world do you correct your BOSS?:lmao:
So, it stuck and then there were two Kimmie's and to tell us apart, the Lee got tacked on.

Paula. I think we are all going to get along very well. Barry and I love meeting people. He is a bit more laid back then me which is a good balance. We did alot with the girls last cruise and only hung out at night with the others from our group, shows and such. I am really hoping this time to get some time in for Barry and myself, and my Dad. My mom goes to bed very early so McKenna will be staying in their cabin at night if she is uncomfortable in the Oceaneers Club, Holly no worries.
We only saw 1 late night comedy show last time because oddly our pager kept going off each night around 10:30 :rotfl: . McKenna wanted her PB&J and the bunkbed I don't blame her.
I am really hoping that the girls are all able to do a few thing together such as the wine, beer, or margarita tasting since I know noone in my family will do wine or Magarita. I would love to have company :)
If anyone is thinking about it please let me know so when we board we can all book the same times at the desk.

Winter storm due to hit here (and the entire Eastern US) starting this morning. Looks like 6-12" of snow, and ice. PennDot is already saying a worst cast scenario for the roads. Snow, sleet, freezing rain (for several hours), and then back to snow. Will be shutting down for a while. Hope all have a good day.
Sean & Chris
ps- anyone ever stayed at the Swan or Dolphin? We're thinking of there for 10/26 (among other places).

Morning Sean/Chris?...your up early....The swan and dolphin are nice and before we choose the b2b we were due to stay at the dolphin the week before the cruise but after looking at the prices we decided we may as well stay at all stars because we are on such a tight time frame we simply wouldn't get value for money staying there....but if your planning to spend any hotel time i'd stay there in a flash...have a great day and stay safe...:)

Chris, you are up early, well our time that is. What time is it in your neck of the World?
:rotfl2: Your miltary story is hysterical :lmao: OMG, :rotfl: . I can't stop laughing. That Hazel is a funny lady, can't wait to met her :yay: . Just think if you did join the military you could stay at the Disney Shades of Green Resort at an amazing discount. Back in 2002 nd 2003 they gave wonderful discount rates on the cruises, free park tickets and discounts at the other resorts. WOW, now that should be enough to get you to recruit or at least get Hazels mind a fluttering again. WELCOME TO THE STATES CHRIS AND FAMILY :rotfl:
Sean and Christine. Is this one of the first snow storms you guys had this year? They say by the time it reaches us it will be another 2 feet. When will it end? Oh me Oh my we do not need another 2 feet.
