i didn't realize it either. I am hoping that it will be ok. I've been reading that if you want to just avoid the parks that they will be at in a given day. It doesn't bother me, but I'm just worried about the crowds. I am also going with my husband and 2 kids.

DD and I will be at ASMo May 17-21 and then getting on board the Disney Wonder. The 17th is DD's last day of kindergarten and her birthday is 2 days before we go. We can't wait! I'm still debating on our resort though. I am considering upgrading to POFQ or CBR, but I don't plan on spending much time at the resort, so we'll probably end up sticking with ASMo. From the looks of this board, May won't be as crowded as I was expecting. You never know til you get there though.

I did not know when I planned my trip that it was "Gaydays" week in Orlando. Does anyone for see a problem? My husband and 2 kids and I are going.

I am attending Gay Day Disney between May 31 - June 5. This will be an extremely busy week and the parks will tend to get very crowded - so much that they stop letting people in on many occassions that I have been. Here are a few tips/suggestions that I may have for you...

1) Saturday is the official Gay Day at the Magic Kingdom and will be extremely crowded with gay people. Red is the choice of color on this day to help in making a beautiful statement that gay people are here as well as help Disney along with gay day organizers to guesstimate how many gay people attend the park on this day. So if you want to avoid this type of heavy crowd I suggest planning a different park to attend for this day. If the crowds do not bother you and you still wish to go on this day I would be prepared to answer those questions that children may have like why are those two guys and or ladies holding hands? An easy answer is that they love each other just like mommy and daddy love each other.

2) Thursday is normally the day the gay crowds pack MGM and although it will not be as bad as Saturday at the Magic Kingdom it will still be quite crowded and full of good 'ol gay people. Also Thursday night is Pleasure Islands "Gay" night every week so you can gaurantee that June 1st will be almost impossible to gain access into a club as the swarms of gay people will be there to party it up.

3) Friday - This is normally The Day at Epcot

4) Sunday - This is normally the Day at Islands of Adventure

5) Monday - This is normally the Day at Animal Kingdom

I personally do not condone public displays of affection but I also cannot stop anyone else who chooses to do so regardless if they are gay or straight. I do however hope that people understand that this is a week of celebration for this very large group, a group that is constantly battling a struggle with public views only looking for acceptance they way the rest of the human race is accepted and within a large celebration such as this it should be expected that these public displays will be much more in view than what it normally would be on a daily basis the way any celebration at this magnitude would be. If this is something that you prefer not to see or be subjected to, you may want to try to adjust your schedule accordingly. Again, I myself do not condone public displays from gay or straight people - I persoanlly think there is a time and place for that - but understanding makes it much more easier to tolerate.

About the laminating...You probably could take them to Kinkos. I have heard of others using clear packing tape, or contact paper would work, too. Another idea I may do is make one for each child with our contact info in case we get separated...just don't put room numbers on them.

Hey everybody!! One more month!! My awesome DH sold a bunch of equipment we have had for a bunch-o-money!!! So were gonna add TWO more nights!!!! Ten total! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

About the laminating...You probably could take them to Kinkos. I have heard of others using clear packing tape, or contact paper would work, too. Another idea I may do is make one for each child with our contact info in case we get separated...just don't put room numbers on them.

We will be there May 3 - 11 at the WL! Don't tell the kids - we were orginally booked for POFQ but when dh found out they had only double beds, he insisted we move up to deluxe without telling the kids! We have stayed at WL two other times and just loved it. I'm so excited:banana:
