at wilderness lodge area there are 2 resturants. the cheaper one, not artist point resturant has a dish called the skillet. all the food is in the skillet and it is refilled as much as you want. its at the whispering canyon cafe.

i think the menu was posted earlier. let me give a hollar to our waitress kitty kat , the adventure queen for her to repost it. she likes to post food menus.

if she doesn't come back soon, i'll fetch it from allearsnet, but i expect a big tip if i have to take over kat's job.

the ladies are going during value season. this is the cheapest rate time at disney for on site hotels.

i am staying at the value resorts because i am cheap and rather spend my money on food and ice cream.

i am using the AAA card for a discount. it gives me 15% off regular rate.

it also does the same discount for the moderates and deluxe hotels.


the only other discount i know of for rooms would be anyone that has the ap and books with it.

you can go as cheap as $61 plus tax for a room for one night at value resorts . the moderates are higher.

if you have beth/our momma, pair you up with someone, you can split the room cost.

Like macraven I'm also staying at a value resort. It works out better for me since I plan to stay for a week and I'm not interested in sharing a room. I'm also using the AAA rate unless Disney offers a special for that time period. I can stay a week for what it would cost me to stay 4 nights at CSR but I will miss being part of the hotel group. :sad: For those days I feel sure I won't be in the room that much. :)

Oh no. No no no no no. You are not the only one. It's a running joke with my friends...when we go out, they know they have to watch me because if they're strange at all, they WILL find me and follow me around. I usually let them buy me a few drinks and then inform them when they ask for a number or want to "talk" that I have a BF of 5 years and a 4 year old. That usually runs them off.

Quickly about Guillermo (which must be said with exaggerated "rr" rolling and a Latin Lover accent): Two of my friends (Matt and Susie, a couple) and I went to a bar one night after work for a few drinks. We're all chatting happily and I'm drinking a beer and finish it and the hispanic guy next to me tells me he'll buy me another one. So we start chatting, I'm being friendly and practicing my rusty Spanish that only gets use with our dishwasher and prep ladies at work, and he's helping me out and speaking slowly for me. I tell him about my 3 1/2 year old and how he's so cute and special (as every mother's 3 1/2 year old is). So we're talking and I'm backing away from giving him any info, we're just having a very general, small-talk kind of conversation. All of a sudden, out of nowhere he starts asking me what my son would like for Christmas, what he should get him, etc. I'm freaking out inside, I tell him my son needs nothing, he has tons of toys and will be getting more from our relatives as he is an only grandchild on one side. He is insisting, though, so I start giving general ideas. Then he asks for the address to my work (a restaurant, obviously). He says maybe he'll apply for a job or eat there. He gives me his phone number and tells me where he is currently working. Not my phone number, just the address to my workplace. So, of course, I lie and give him the address to who knows what. Susie and I decided to leave at that point, I was super creeped out. We were in the parking lot of a gas station when Matt called her cell phone and told her that he had just gone out to Guilllllllllerrrrrrrrmo's car and had taken a peek inside and he had duffel bags FULL of what appeared to be cocaine and automatic weapons. What a prince. :love: :rotfl:

stay with the group - more fun that way and CS looks like a beautiful

couldn't help but see that the dates you all are planning for a ladies'meet, coincide with a group of ladies who post on another Disney board that gets censored out when written here for some strange reason :confused3 . Let's see if I can speak in code: first there is the 3 w's signifying a web site, then a dot, then the singular of mice (5 letters) followed by 'owners' (no spaces) and then another dot and then com. The new site was formed by a bunch of people who used to post on the Dis, on the DVC forums, but then there was a big bruhaha when they took off the Community Board there and so a whole new forum started...it is very friendly and fun there and I'm not sure why anyone at the Dis would be bothered by the 'competition' but I guess that's what happens sometimes. :guilty:

Anyway, a bunch of ladies over there, who were planning solo or family trips in May and October, decided to do some activities together. Eventually, The Boardwalk Babes, (as we own at BWV and we are of course, in our own minds at least, babes! :rotfl2) was born!).

Because we use points at DVC and because of less points weekdays than weekends, our October trip is Sept 30-Oct 6, which coincides, in part with your Grand Gathering!

I'd love to meet up with you ladies in October, and also invite you to check out that other site to see what is up there, and finally to let you in on two things we recently learned about and are incorporating into our upcoming May trip:

First is Grand Gatherings...8 or more people staying on-site can take advantage of Disney Planning and certain Disney events. THey have an entire website for signing up your group and you can chat at that site, etc.
I learned recently that when you stay at the same resort, that they try to put you in rooms on the same floor and close by each other. (This might be a great advantage to us for our trip in two weeks, because the 'leader' has a 2bedroom Boardwalk view and we are hoping to get a little bump up from standard view.)

We decided on a Grand Gathering event for May(April 30-May6)...the dinner at Epcot, and then after dinner a dessert reception in that private area on its own little dock for watching Illuminations...This was $60 or 2TS (on DDP). We are meeting prior to dinner at our fearless leader's 2 bdromBWV for margaritas.

In October, we are looking at the Pirate Cruise for a GG. But one of the gals and I are planning on arriving early, on Saturday, Sept 29, in hopes that there is a Party of the Senses that night. I've heard wonderful things about this party at Epcot in honor of the Food and WIne Festival, and I was wondering if any of you ladies might consider joining us? allearsnetdotnet has a write up of POS; it is rather expensive but it is a dinner of 'food stations' from all the best chefs at WDW plus they bring in others from NYC,SF and NO etc....and wine tastings too.

I'll be back to read through all the posts on this thread and to hopefully see if I can join in on any in October. I just want to say thanks for the info. I just saw your post now.

We do have a GG# and are using that and we considered a dessert party at Epcot but decided against it.

I was a bit confused about the dates you mentioned. You said Sat the 29th but the 29th is actually a Friday. That Friday we are all eating at 1900 Parkf Faire (I have a reservation for 40 and I believe there is still room at this point)
then we will be heading to MNSSHP. On Saturday we are eating at Le Cellier and some at Rose and Crown and after Illuminations we are heading over to either Jellyrolls of the Adventurers Club.

Our schedule is on the first post of this thread. It is not set in stone though and may change as times passes.
I will check out that other website when I get a chance. Thanks. And feel free to come and chat with us on our main chat thread. We would love to try and hook up with some other fun ladies!! :thumbsup2

(This might be a great advantage to us for our trip in two weeks, because the 'leader' has a 2bedroom Boardwalk view and we are hoping to get a little bump up from standard view.)

We decided on a Grand Gathering event for May(April 30-May6)...the dinner at Epcot, and then after dinner a dessert reception in that private area on its own little dock for watching Illuminations...This was $60 or 2TS (on DDP). We are meeting prior to dinner at our fearless leader's 2 bdromBWV for margaritas.

In October, we are looking at the Pirate Cruise for a GG. But one of the gals and I are planning on arriving early, on Saturday, Sept 29, in hopes that there is a Party of the Senses that night. I've heard wonderful things about this party at Epcot in honor of the Food and WIne Festival, and I was wondering if any of you ladies might consider joining us? allearsnetdotnet has a write up of POS; it is rather expensive but it is a dinner of 'food stations' from all the best chefs at WDW plus they bring in others from NYC,SF and NO etc....and wine tastings too.

I'll be back to read through all the posts on this thread and to hopefully see if I can join in on any in October. I hope you don't take any offense at my suggestions to check out the other web site and we 'Grand Gatherings'Boardwalk Babes over there and I hope some of you may be interested in the Party of the Senses on the last Saturday in Sept (the 29)which kicks off the Food and Wine Festival, I think! It would be ever so much more fun to have a large group of us at this party.

You might want to add on your list if people like rooms hot or cold. I know I need to have mine on the colder side. But I have a friend I stayed with who like the room warmer.

Yes, I prefer not to wear gloves, hat scarves and ear muffs when I go to bed. :p :rotfl2:
