My dad and sister are avid bird watchers, they are excited about possibly seeing some new birds in the Florida climate. I was wondering if anyone knows any good spots to see birds (other than at the Animal Kingdom). We are going October 21-26, and I can't wait !
Thank you!

The lakefront and along the canals seem to be good places for bird watching. You might want to rent a canoe or paddleboat to explore around the canals.

Where are the canals located?
Thank you for your help!

Here's a link to a map of Ft Wilderness that shows the canals.

Since I'm also an avid birdwatcher, I'll share my experiences. I've stayed at POR and POFQ and walking around early in the morning at both resorts, I've seen new birds in trees there. Also on the boat ride from POR to DTD. And I may have seen one or two out on TSI, but now it seems the seagulls and grackles have taken over and scared everything else off.
