We will be getting a few Disney Dollars in all three of our baskets and rumor has it that he might leave some at grandma's house too! :)

Oh yeah.... Easter Sunday is just 2 days before we leave! It will be loaded with Disney Dollars ($50) for my little guy. We are gone for 12 days so I think that's going to be plenty of spending money for him! :thumbsup2

The Easter Bunny always leaves DD & DS some Disney dollars in their Easter baskets for our Disney trip each May.
The Tooth Fairy leaves Disney dollars too & right now DS8 has 3 loose teeth!

What a great idea....this may be a stupid question, but are these available for purchase at the Disney Store? I am giving my 2 yo DS a quarter a day to put in his Disney bank for our trip in September, however, I think I may put some disney dollars in his easter basket.... :thumbsup2

I am planning on doing Disney Dollars in DS's Easter baskets this year. They have also been earning Disney Dollars as an allowance since January when we decided to go on vacation.

The easter bunny is bringing $10 (disney dollars) to each, the grandparents are giving them $10 (disney dollars) each in the grammy easter bag (annual thing) and a few family friends who usually send a card with $1 are sending disney dollars too..We are trying to get to $60 each without just handing them cash at the gates...It seems to make them value it more that way.
They are also doing extra chires to earn some.

The Easter Bunny will leave some Disney Dollars in each kid's basket. They are getting older now, so the baskets have changed significantly. We have a trip planned for May. My DS (10) is much better at saving for this trip than my DD (11) so he will be very siked. DD will probably ask if she can spend it at the Disney store now! :confused3

We're staying at Poly Apr 7-11, coming home just in time for Easter. Today we stopped at the Disney Store and stocked up on Disney dollars.
I hate to confess, but we are bribing the kids (DD6, DS7, DD9) with them to keep their rooms clean until we go. They each can get a dollar per day each night if their room passes inspection at bed time. Its a good way for them to earn some money to spend at the parks, and we're hoping that it will help reinforce some good habits (cleaning up). Just a little afraid it will also teach them some bad ones (getting paid to to it). :confused3

The Easter Bunny always leaves my kids Disney dollars. Santa leaves them in their stocking and they get them for Valentine's Day, from the tooth fairy, kindergarten and pre-K graduations etc. I've even got the grandparents trained instead of candy on Valentine's Day or Halloween they give Disney dollars. They always get some Disney dollars for their birthdays also. It really pays off. Last year when we went to Disney they had over $200 each in Disney dollars!
OT - GIrls are so easy for Easter baskets, stockings etc. Between Disney dollars, AG, Bath and Bodyworks, Claires etc. I could fill 10 stockings. Poor Ds though it's a struggle just to fill his basket and stocking with things that aren't just "junk". Thank goodness for the Disney store!

He is going to end up with more $$$ than I have! :) :rotfl:

My teens gots $20 in Disney dollars for Valentines and another $25 for Easter. Good saving plan and they have their own made money for the parks. When they say can I get...can I have... I say sure you have your own money. Works semi-well, they always scam dad into buying them a few things so they can save their money for trinkets. I usually give them each about $20 a day for the parks.

We usually give my DS Disney Dollars for everything during the year but this year the trip is a surprise for his birthday so I don't want to ruin it by giving him Disney Dollars so he'll get cold, hard cash this year. He never wants to spend his money so it doesn't matter, it's just not as fun.

Hey, I think it is a great idea. I'm struggling with the messy bedroom situation and it is driving me nuts.
:confused3 Does your Disney store keep only a small amount of Disney Dollars available? Ours does and the denominations are usually limited to one type, two if I'm very lucky. I prefer to go in and buy a lot at one time rather than making so many trips. Usually they only have $40 or $50 available. Sometimes, they can get more from the back. Sorry, OT but I find it annoying.
I LOVE the Easter Basket idea. I never would have thought of it. That is a definite this year. I do put various amounts of change in the plastic eggs we hide for our kids. The year we started, we put nice piggy banks in their baskets. They love it.

We will be at WDW for Easter this year and I have been debating on how to handle an Easter Basket. My DH and I have decided since we don't want to carry down stuff for a Basket and getting a Basket made would be expensive. That the Easter Bunny will leave our girl a chocolate bunny each, and then a bunch of Disney Dollars.

I was actually in two different stores last week in the Philly area, and both stores had a large supply in $1, $10 and I think $20's. Not sure if this is normal or not.

I have only ever seen $1, $5 and $10 and I have been doing Disney dollars for about 3 years. We will be putting them in eggs to keep the candy consumption down. Some will have candy and some will have $1.
My dd3 also gets them as rewards. Usually it is only the $1. with Mickey but she thinks it is so cool to get a $10. with Minnie, she knows that is really special.

What a brilliant idea! We've used DD for birthdays, just never thought about Easter. Certainly beats the candy that he never eats!!

Yes Disney dollars from now until December so he will have his own money to spend (we did it last year and it worked great).

Great Idea! I will be getting some of these for sure - less candy around the house is a good thing since I tend to eat it!!

Our Disney Store has $1's, $5's, and $10's. I've never had a problem with them not having enough - but then again we don't buy heaps at a time either. :)

Our Disney always has plenty of Disney dollars too... at least they have so far!!
I've also bought a DCL coloring book to include in the Easter Basket - one more thing to get him in the "mood" for our cruise and trip!!! :thumbsup2

The Easter Bunny is leaving Disney Dollars here, too. Our next trip is in 8/07, and between the Easter Bunny, Santa, and the Tooth Fairy, my kids should have their souvenier $$ ready to go.
