I was looking at the names of the characters for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

I am re-naming my family:

Bill - Bootstrap Bill Turner
Will- Will Turner
Emily - Elizabeth Swann (Elizabeth is Emily's middle name)
Cole - Kraken (he is the little destroyer of the house!)
Me (Jennifer) - Anamaria (Pirate)

Does anyone else watch CSI (the original Las Vegas one)? That is really the only show we watch weekly. So, I am excited for this evenings new episode. However for the life of me, I can't remember how it ended last season. We missed the re-run last week. Does anyone remember? I didn't remember Sara being left in the desert. What did I miss? Please help! Bill's going to DVR it for me while I take Will to football practice.

He got his new speakers today and will install them while I am gone. I want all these boxes out of the house. It is driving me crazy! We have this huge tv and stand box in the dining room. You could fit all three kids at one time in each of them. Then, Bill got five big boxes(surround sound speakers) today. I can't wait for Tuesday (trash pick-up)!!!!! :rolleyes1

Pooh_Girl and I watch it RELIGOUSLY!! I'm sure by the time you read this you'll have already watched it, but at the end of last season the crazy girl/miniature killer had kidnapped Sara and trapped her under the car. Now we're in a race to find her!!!! popcorn::

I leave home at 6 am also. It is dark here now when I leave. It is really hard for me to get up when it is dark. I like the summer way better!

I leave for work at about 8am, and get to work at 8:01 am. :) I work from home most every day of the week. I've probably only been into the office a dozen times this year. I live 65 miles from my office, and my boss is very supportive of remote working. As long as my work gets done and my working from home does not interfere with my job or my customers, she's fine with me coming in once a month. I'll admit, that I'm very lucky, but I'll also admit, I love it.

I usually go to the DIS Home link at the top left side of the page to look for discount info. They are usually pretty up to date.

That'd be so cool if you can get a discount now that you have your Florida house! Good luck!!

Angie,
Check out www.apollohealth.com.

I bought the little P2 GoLite, and it does seem to be making a difference in regulating my body clock. It has a 30 day money-back guarantee. I'm on around day 10, and am pretty sure I'll be keeping it.

I plan on taking it on vacation to help with the jet lag too.

I'm also starting to enjoy my little slice of morning quiet time while I use the light.

The board is VERY slow right now. I've been trolling the other site while I wait for this one to process. :surfweb:

I sent an email to my TA to check into the Military discounts on my DB and DSis' cabins. Keeping my fingers crossed!

:thumbsup2 Thanks for the info Rob! But, yes I have now seen BOTH episodes.

Since, I didn't want to see the new episode without seeing the last episode, Bill bought it off XBox Live for me and then DVR'd the new episode. So, we just finished watching both episodes. popcorn:: I'm glad he did! Thanks honey! Now he is playing Halo 3 for a bit before bed. I remember when I lived in Belgium it rained almost every day!:sad2: Even when we went to the coast on holiday it would rain! Also, I remember waiting for the school bus in the dark most mornings. Unlike the school bus routes in the states, mine went all around town picking up kids. Mine went right by Supact (do they still have that?). I swear I was on the bus for an hour the first two years I lived there because we lived in downtown Brussels. Finally, when I was a Junior we moved closer to BAS! Then, it was within ten minutes to school, a much better ride! :)

That's MEAN! Making a boy put away his toys! :sad2: One of my best friends bought Halo3 Tuesday morning and prior to that, he bought a year's membership of XBox Live ($50) prebought Halo3 ($60) and bought a wireless network adaptor ($100something). I told him I don't know of too many games that are worth spending $200 for. :confused3 I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to buy the game. I used to be on Xbox live with Halo2, hence how I got the nickname "runmaster". I was new to the game and I was the expert in running from the other teams. :lmao: The only thing is if I bought Halo3 I don't know if I could ONLY do the campaign. I don't know if I want to buy the Xbox live and all.

Well I guess just because there are discounts it doesn't mean everyone can go between Thanksgiving and Hannukah like we can. Maybe it won't sail totally full. Maybe that will mean an upgrade as they fill up those lower category cabins. However we are thinking of not taking anything less than a 7 to 4 upgrade. Why move from our location for the same size room, KWIM?

Good morning, all!

Do you think it's possible to transmit disease through the DIS? I was the next one to be sick--I never got out of bed yesterday except to call the office and tell them I wouldn't be there. I'm back now, but really should have stayed home. Unfortunately, I don't have the kind of a job where I can work from home, and that's kind of frowned on for government workers anyway.

Now I'm going to post the things I missed yesterday.

To answer Jennifer's question from about two days ago--I think we were in Martinique at CBR (it was room 2139, I checked my photos;)). CBR is a very big resort and very spread out, but Jim and I are walkers. We don't even have a car! I walk at least two miles every day, rain or shine. A couple of years ago I was almost crippled by arthritis in my hips, and the doctor said if it didn't improve, I would need a double hip replacement. I started walking, slowly at first, and building up a little each day. I walk from the train station to my office each morning (about a mile). At first, it took me 45 minutes walking with a cane. Now, when the train is late, I can make it in about 7 minutes! So I really didn't notice walking at CBR.
It's never dark when I leave the house for work, because I don't leave until 8 AM most mornings. The earliest I ever have to leave is 7:30. It's dark now when I get up at 6 AM, though. It's only a four minute train ride, and then I walk. The sun hasn't quite come up over the buildings now, so it isn't as warm as it's been! The trade off is that there are at least three places where I get a clear view of the ocean every morning.
I just got an email from my TA with the good news that there was a discount at PO Riverside! I just saved $86! My room at AKL wasn't eligible because we got a pool view, and only standard view is discounted, but that's fine with me. Those two nights are a treat for my granddaughter because she won't see us for more than a week once we leave on the cruise.Well, now it's back to work. There's stuff piled all over my desk. I still can't figure out how I can miss one day of work and come back to find three days worth of paper on my desk!

Government worker here too and no work from home, BUT our micromanaging senior manager has now told our boss he wants her to get us all set up so we could take calls at home IF there is a snow day and we could not get into work. :rotfl: Now the funny thing about that is that we have those days maybe once every 2 years and it usually lasts no more than 2 days. So, he wants to spend $$ to set 4 people up with equipment at home "incase" there is one or 2 days in a 2 year period when there is no one at work to complain to about his disfunctional facility. :confused3 3 of the 4 of us live pretty remote (on mountains that do ice up occasionally) where there is no public transportation to get us to work. At my house we only have dial up internet service so they would have to put a new phone line in for us. :sad2: I'm not telling him this stuff though, I will just let him go forward with his plan. Can you tell I have issues?? :lmao:

I have been checking every day, still no brunch. Maybe at 30 days. Otherwise we are going to have to get to the port early. We might be blowing of WDW because we are getting some grief from DD's pre-K and driving down on Friday after she gets out. Sigh...

My observation about some teachers for what it's worth ......

..... it is their job to "preach" the doctrine that kid's should be in school everytime the doors are open.

The real truth is that kid's get as much (and sometimes more) out of vacations with their parents!

We took our DS out of school many times all the way through high school to go on vacations. We always talked to the teacher about it and he always made up any work they requested. He is now 34 years old, has his Masters degree, a great job and ......

..... he still takes time to go on vacation with his parents!

Don't miss out on a special family time that can not be repeated (because the kids are different each year) just because a teacher is giving you a hard time. :santa:

I was part of a test program a few years back to work from home a few days a week. They chose me because I had nine weeks of vacation time saved up, and I was planning on using them. They asked if I would spread it out so that I would use two days one week and three days the next over a period from Columbus Day to New Years, and work from home on the in-between days. I agreed, except for the week that I would be on DCL--no changing that one!

It worked out alright for the most part, because a lot of what I do doesn't have to be done in the office. Part of my job involves approving expenses and qualifying them under federal grants, keeping track of them and reporting on them. However, there is so much paperwork that has to be kept under lock and key for confidentiality reasons that I ended up going to the office almost every day to look things up. The powers that be decided that the little bit of cost-savings from not having an employee physically in the office was offset by the aggravation of not seeing my smiling face every day:lmao:. So now they just let me use my vacation time when I want to, and don't worry about the fact that I may be gone three weeks at a time. I no longer take work calls while I'm away, I no longer answer work emails while I'm away (even if "away" is only at my house), and if they want me to do those things, they'll start giving me comp time for the time spent on work projects! Can you tell that I have issues too? At least I have a wonderful immediate supervisor! No, he's not looking over my shoulder right now:rotfl:.

Yep that's Belgium all right. Luckily we only live a few minutes from the school. The bus stop is 4 houses down, and DD has like a 20 minute ride - including the 2 stops along the way. Supact? If you mean the support activity. It was the NSA right before we got here, and then they changed it to US Army Garrison Brussels. Still there, still tiny. But at least we can get American milk close by. We still drive to Chievres, but for me it's no treat. I take it you were too young to drive at the time, right??? For you it was a chance to eat pizza and have your parents buy you stuff. ;) I try to keep my visits to once a month. I fill up the freezer, and then buy produce, bread and milk locally.

It might not be a bad idea to call child protective services. They have experts who can determine how safe the boy really is in the home. I'd hate for you and your DS to look back later and say "we should have called someone."

I've been on both sides of the "taking kids out of school" situation. I was a teacher for about 10 years. I agree that kids can learn a lot more on vacation than they do in the classroom, especially when they're very young. I always encouraged parents to take their kids on vacation. Of course, I taught a kindergarten class with 32 students and no aides, so a few less students was usually a good thing:rotfl2:.

Here in Long Branch, our public school system starts with full days at age 3, although it's not mandatory. It's a wonderful system, and DS was encouraged to take DGD out of school for their family trips. Her class loved her report on her Disney Cruise! She was three years old at the time, and she brought some photos that we took on the cruise as well as pictures that she drew of the servers and of her room on the ship. She told her classmates all about going to a whole other country (The Bahamas), and that they spoke "just like us" meaning English. I think that's what she remembers most!

Sometimes they just offer a great price for a cat 12 guarantee. They may still do that for the general public. But right now the discounts they are offering to FL residents and Military are in all categories. And they are hefty! Plus I believe CMs get the same rate as military also.

And trust me they have a waiting list full of TAs who want to go on fam trips. They will fill the cabins so that they can make money on the incidental expenses.

Just relax, and accept that the ship will be full. You will still have a great time!

Yes, I usually ask the teacher for a project that DD can do while we're traveling. And here in Europe they are very supportive about the kids missing school for travel; there are so many things to learn about. Jasmine has become a big history buff after visiting Olympia. Dublin also had some really cool (kinda gruesome) historical stories too.

Yay me! We have our DD in PNO tomorrow night and are going to see The Kingdom and have a dinner out alone. They do it where she takes gymnastics and she LOVES it. $5 an hour 6-11. Just makes it hard when you have to go back out and pick her up.

Well... we get Jipped.. Again.. :sad2:

I called DCL and apparently they have recently updated their requirements of proof of residents...

They no longer accept a Deed to your home :confused3 Yet.. if you had a Lease it would be ok.. :confused3

They require a FL driver's license.. which we don't have..
A Voter's ID card.. which.. we can't get..
A FL lease.. which we don't rent we own..

What about an electric bill??

Thank you thank you.

I have a complete time waster for any astronomy buffs. I found it on a board talking about HEROES. It is a UK site that you can enter in any year from about 1501 on and see what an eclipse looked like from space as well as from many points on the ground. I have been having lots of fun with it.

http://www.eclipse.org.uk/eclbin/query_eo.cgi

Here is a site where you can see the phases of the moon on any given date. Look how we will have a great chance to see lots of stars during our cruise!!!

Maybe because they are only offering it to full time residents. Lots of folks have two houses (snowbirds), but doing a rental indicates...

Nevermind, I don't know. I am in the next state over and I don't get discounts by saying well my state TOUCHES FL.

Thanks for that link, that Eclipses Online Portal is amazing!

Probably because so many people live elsewhere and have a second vacation home in Florida. Folks probably would not pay rent just to get a discount.

AmberDaClown

So does this mean I can go and rent at one of those month to month places? Do it just for the month of December when I am cruising and then be done with it? Heck I could rent at some really fleabag place that doesn't even check for credit. Would what I paid be enough to be worth the discount?

I wonder what the current rate for FL is for three people for a Cat 7 with no transfers nor insurance.

Hi everyone! We just booked onto this cruise THIS MORNING and I am totally, totally beside myself! Had no plans at all 3 weeks ago, then we booked the 4 nt Dec 9 on Sept 11--then last night I found this DEAL on this cruise and our TA managed to switch us! It's our first cruise, and we are sooo looking forward to it. It'll be dh and me (hoping for a little grown up time to make up for totally missing our 20th anniversary this summer), ds 7 and dd 4. So far I've read the first SEVEN pages of this thread, so it's gonna be a while before I catch up!!

A quick question--when I managed to get in on the website this morning there was NOTHING available at Palo...is it just me, or have others had this experience? Planning on hitting the booking desk as soon as we board.

Happy to be here!!

Okay, so if there are two couples who own winter houses in Florida and summer houses in the midwest. If couple A has Florida drivers licenses, and couple B has Ohio licenses, then couple A can get the discount, but couple B can't????

And what about the college kids who are only renting an apartment in Florida during the school year. I guess since they have a "magic" lease, they can get the discount too???

I wonder, can you get a Florida DL without giving up your New Jersey DL? My friend's daughter was working at Pecos Bill's in the college program, her purse was stolen, she had to get a FL DL because she couldn't get on a plane to come home for a new IL DL, without picture ID (which was stolen). So she had a FL and then got a replacement from IL, so she had both.

I'll bet you can at least get a Florida ID card.

This reminds me .....I'm a Texas resident, so when I was visiting Texas I applied for a drivers license with my San Diego address on it. They sent it to me in San Diego, and I used my Texas license to get CA resident discounts at Disneyland.

:welcome: to the Party!! party:

Yes, you'll have plenty of grown up time. At those ages, you won't be able to get your kids out of the kids clubs! By the way if your DD is close to 5, you can put both of them together in the 5-7 group.

Yes, Palo is booked but keep checking the website for openings. Especially 30 days out when they start assigning groups into the private room. If you can't book online before you sail, you can still make reservations upon boarding. But it is nice to have that taken care of before you go. Id also suggest getting waitlisted for Main dining, and checking on that once you board. At that age, the kids activities are scheduled around a 6pm dinner time. When my DD was 7 we had late dining, and we were always leaving early to get her to the parties in the club. If you can't get Main dining, the kids can eat in the kids club some evenings. Another option is to feed them up at Topsiders, so you have some family time. Then you can take them to the club while you enjoy a grown up dinner.

Check out the link in my signature line to get caught up on all the DIS doings we have going on. If you want to participate in the Secret Mickey exchange, it'd help if you sign up pretty quickly, as we've started shopping.

I can't post (or PM) the name of the website here, but there are Navigators from the Sept 1st Eastern Caribbean sailing online. You can PM me with your email address, and I can send them to you.

I'm so excited for you! That "I just booked a Disney Cruise" feeling is the best!!:goodvibes :cool1:

Welcome coastgirl. My DD is also 4 and will be in the kid's club with your DD. We will be at late dining because we actually plan to get her fed either via room service or another dining alternative and then put her in the club on some nights. It would be nice to eat dinner in peace.

We got a dinner reservation at PALO, but I look everyday for Brunch. We will be at the port overnight (well in a hotel) and will probably drive over around 10ish to be in line.

DS told me he has fought with his step father before, when mom is home, she jumps in and stops them.. but never has he called DS crying
I'm sorry to hear about your son's friend and his step-father. Your son sounds like a good "reliable" friend. Teenagers (especially boys) can be very closed in about their emotions. So, it must have been really bad if he was crying. I am glad the friend is safely at his grandparents. My two weak spots are kids and animals in need or trouble. Just ask Emily about the numerous dogs we've taken to their rightful homes or even a turtle we carried out of the street into a pond. But, those are stories for another day. . .

We're sitting in the kitchen making our traditional Friday night pizza and I read dh Jennifer's "warning". He thinks you are brilliant and witty (he's been watching me get nothing done besides "research"!).

And we had already noted, hmm, there's a family with "matching kids". ;)

Yes, NS is Nova Scotia, eastern Canada, in a time zone further east than Eastern, the Atlantic time zone. (Dh calls us "the far East".) I'm coastgirl for a reason. A vacation isn't a vacation without ocean, so it's amazing I've lasted this long without cruising. I am seriously, seriously working on getting dh to rent a dress kilt for formal night. We're not Scottish, but we do live in "New Scotland" so it's ok! And he's got great legs. (Yes, there are kilt rentals places around here...)

Dh is also wondering if anyone is interested in sharing a cigar. We are (vehement) non-smokers but dh considers sharing a cigar an occasion, and doesn't bother unless he has like-minded company. Anyone?

Don't know if I'll ever get through--what, 187 pages?--glad there's a "cheat sheet" on the "consolidated info", thanks!!

We do a pizza night too... more often than not, it's on sub bread, like pizza breads. We do make our own crust occasionally too, and now that I have a Stand Mixer, we'll be doing home made crust a lot more often. The kids love to help with the toppings too.

WIFamily (sorry, don't know real names yet unless they're in the post--give me a few days!), dh would probably enjoy the excursion on St Maarten. We started doing to pizza when I got a bread maker; we have the leftover dough Sat am as fried bread...mmmm.

Dh is also wondering if anyone is interested in sharing a cigar. We are (vehement) non-smokers but dh considers sharing a cigar an occasion, and doesn't bother unless he has like-minded company. Anyone?

[QUOTE]

US! US!! :yay: :yay: We both enjoy an occasional cigar and LOVE to have one on the ship with a glass of cognac! They actually have a cigar and cognac night on the ship!:woohoo: :woohoo:
I'll run it by Bill. But, I assume the answer will be "No". The last time he smoked a cigar, he was almost green in the face! My Dad offered him a cigar and he inhaled really BIG and almost choked to death. Poor guy. :sad2:

Sign me up too. I plan on visiting La Casa Del Habano in St Marteen. http://www.lacasadelhabano.cu/casahabano_i.asp is their website. I will probably have a couple on the ship... I've never had cognac before, so I'll have to give that a try too. I do like brandy mixed drinks ;)
Are you able to bring "Cubans" onboard to smoke while at sea? If so, that might be something we'd at least try once.

I believe that it's ok on the ship. There might be some troubles coming back into the US, but by then I'll have the identifying bands off of them, so there won't be a problem. I don't know prices yet either, so that's really going to determine if I try to bring any home with me.

We do a pizza night too... more often than not, it's on sub bread, like pizza breads. We do make our own crust occasionally too, and now that I have a Stand Mixer, we'll be doing home made crust a lot more often. The kids love to help with the toppings too.
I became a true baking enthusiast when Bill bought me my beloved Kitchen Aid mixer. It even has a hook for dough. It is great!

Yes, NS is Nova Scotia, eastern Canada, in a time zone further east than Eastern, the Atlantic time zone.

Do you get called a "Newfie"?

Our Music Director is from that area and everyone calls her a "Newfie". She even refers to herself like that.

Oh that's funny, I am a born Newf, though now we are Nova Scotians. (Newf=Newfoundlander, even further east and in yet another time zone from Nova Scotia.) Dh's BIL had a cigar shop for a few years, actually sold Cubans to American cruisers when they visited ports hereabouts (perfectly legal here of course). Anyway, BIL could probably recommend Cubans...me, I'd be more interested in the chocolate recommendations...

:santa:

I know that I have a 5 yr old niece who has been to Disney more times than I can even count and on the DCL more than I probably ever will and she starts school next year. My DB and DSIL have already talked to the principal of the school to find out their policy on vacations and they actually ENCOURAGE family trips for those very same reasons!! :scared1: They want the children to go, spend time with the parents, and explore our world. All they ask is that they bring something back to share with the class about where they went.

:lmao:

Ok.... so I'm not a gov't worker here. Actually I work for an insurance company and we all keep wondering when they're going to start having all of us work from home. :confused3 They recently closed one of our claims offices down in another state so we're wondering when this is going to start happening everywhere. I am basically a Customer Service Rep so I can really answer the phone from ANYWHERE as long as they want to give me the good internet speed, but I say all that to say this: I REALLY hope that they don't do that because one of the biggest advantages to working in an office is to have the face-to-face social interaction. What can I say? I'm a people person!! :rotfl2:

DS is still concerned because the boy didn't go to school today..

Welcome!!!! :cheer2: The more the merrier!!! I think DISers need to take over the world one cruise at a time!!! We're really having some fun here!!!

And I am stating officially for the record, that I will now be taking my dog on a nice long walk in hopes he will forgive me for my shameful neglect yesterday.

Yep. And it is apple pie time again today! Honey Crisps are now in season and they are hands down the BEST apple pie apple. Very short season and they do not keep like some apples so I can only get them now thru early Nov. The ones I get in Nov. barely last until Thanksgiving. Our very best friend is coming today from Idaho (for our surprise anniversary party this evening) and I plan to cook up a pie for him and DrHug.

I bought a delicious Apple Cinnamon Walnut Crumb Cake and put it in the freezer :cloud9: I think it may be time to defrost it..

We are having a nice cool fall day today and with some warm cider or a Hot cup of Herbal Tea sounds Perfect..

Coming back from breakfast DH says to me.. I am soooo glad I'm not married to a Junk A Holic...

Now, as long as he stays out of my scrapbooking closet, chest, drawers, room.. I'll be okay.. :rolleyes1

I guess everybody but me actually has a life outside of the DIS! :lmao: :surfweb:

Not me. I spent 9 hours driving down to Chievres to get my hair done, and pick up a "few" things.

It's usually an hour drive. But when I got to Waterloo the autoroute was suddenly closed. (They do weird things like that here for no apparent reason.) Luckily I had my Tom Tom, but the hour drive, ended up taking 2! :drive:

So of course I was late for my appointment, and I guess the High School at SHAPE is having a formal dance tonight, because all the girls were in there getting their hair done.....princess:

Then when I finally got out of there, I picked up some stuff at the PX and then went to Burger King in the food court. The nice lady behind the counter didn't tell me that the Diet Coke wasn't working before she sold me the $1.39 paper cup that ended up being useless.:headache:

Then I go to the commissary for a quick stop, when I notice the huge "CASE LOT SALE" sign out front. I was like "kill me now."

Poor Jake ended up being home alone from 9am to 6pm on a weekend! Poor puppy.

A friend is bringing her kids over tonight, so at least he'll get some playtime this evening....

Yep, I don't mind paying more for quality. But I can't stand paying more than I need to for something. I buy most of my stuff online, so that makes it pretty easy to compare prices.

By the way, have you discovered smartbargains.com yet? I bought some suits for work there for like $69 - we wear civilian clothes most days at NATO. And for our last cruise I bought a floor length formal gown for $59 that was orignally around $200 I think.

Well played Bill!!!! Let me do all the work for the past hour, doing ALL of those posts, WAY past my bedtime, and you do like 4 posts!!!! :confused3 :sad2: Just kidding!! I'm glad to see you're on the board now!!

Sorry I wasn't aware someone was "chasing the pirate" at that time too. :) I was just about to go to sleep and my OCD kicked in so I had to check in on the thread on my phone. When I did, I saw that it was only 7 away (at the time) from a pirate. So I quickly started posting from my phone trying to earn my first pirate. (I feel like a slacker compared to Jennifer but my job has the nasty habit of getting in the way. :)) When I thought I was still 3 or 4 posts away I surprisingly saw that my last post was #2900. I went in and edited to reflect the pirate and then I saw RBennet had been posting too. Sorry :( Maybe this pirate helps compensate for the many that my beautiful wife apparently walks away from. ;) Anyway, happy pirate hunting to everyone! :)

Tis a perfectly clear day here in NW GA. Not a cloud in the sky. I ran some errands, got tickets for "The Kingdom" tonight. Got to take DD to a birthday party at 1600 and then off to her PNO. Then we get a date night. Ok movie and dinner without the kiddo.

I did spot a Chiminea at Home Depot that I have on hold for DH to check out tonight. It is getting to be that type of weather. We have all the windows open.

Last night was a get together at one of our neighbor friends. It was her first time hosting (we have a core group of 5 or so houses that host EVERY WEEK). It was very very fun and DD was a dirty dirty girl after it was all said and done.

We have different chains here, but I've already got a date this afternoon with my fav once dh gets home. Unfortunately ebay (and lots of etailers) can be a huge hassle with trans-border shipping so I look, but I'm pretty careful...it has to be a great deal, worth the shipping and delay.

Hmmm... 40 more to go. I could post lyrics of favorite songs for awhile.

Well, I went home with the waitress
The way I always do
How was I to know
She was with the Russians, too

I was gambling in Havana
I took a little risk
Send lawyers, guns and money
Dad, get me out of this

I'm the innocent bystander
Somehow I got stuck
Between the rock and the hard place
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck

Now I'm hiding in Honduras
I'm a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns and money
The s**t has hit the fan

Send lawyers, guns and money...

This was the song my DH first sung to DD the day she was born. It is "their" song.

And now I know
Spanish harlem are not just pretty words to say
I thought I knew
But now I know that rose trees never grow in new york city

Until youve seen this trash can dream come true
You stand at the edge while people run you through
And I thank the lord theres people out there like you
I thank the lord theres people out there like you

While mona lisas and mad hatters
Sons of bankers, sons of lawyers
Turn around and say good morning to the night
For unless they see the sky
But they cant and that is why
They know not if its dark outside or light

This broadways got
Its got a lot of songs to sing
If I knew the tunes I might join in
Ill go my way alone
Grow my own, my own seeds shall be sown in new york city

Subways no way for a good man to go down
Rich man can ride and the hobo he can drown
And I thank the lord for the people I have found
I thank the lord for the people I have found

Hmm...maybe a couple more.

've looked under chairs
I've looked under tables
I've tried to find the key
To fifty million fables

chorus:
They call me The Seeker
I've been searching low and high
I won't get to get what I'm after
Till the day I die

I asked Bobby Dylan
I asked The Beatles
I asked Timothy Leary
But he couldn't help me either

chorus

People tend to hate me
'Cause I never smile
As I ransack their homes
They want to shake my hand

Focusing on nowhere
Investigating miles
I'm a seeker
I'm a really desperate man

I won't get to get what I'm after
Till the day I die

I learned how to raise my voice in anger
Yeah, but look at my face, ain't this a smile?
I'm happy when life's good
And when it's bad I cry
I've got values but I don't know how or why

I'm looking for me
You're looking for you
We're looking in at each other
And we don't know what to do

chorus

DD's current favorite song at the moment.

et me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever.

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out.
It doesn't matter much to me.

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever.

No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low.
That is you can't you know tune in but it's all right.
That is I think it's not too bad.

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever.

Always no sometimes think it's me, but you know I know when it's a dream.
I think I know I mean "Yes," but it's all wrong.
That is I think I disagree.

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever.
Strawberry Fields forever.
Strawberry Fields forever.

You know, being the biggest Superman freak EVER, you don't know how many times I've wonderd that same thing. The only "scientific" answer I have been able to come up with is maybe that even though there's no wind, maybe the cape is still in motion from him flying to that spot?? :confused3 Kind of like the footage of the astronauts in space. Whenever they push things around the object stays in motion bouncing off of walls, etc, because there's no gravity to pull it to a stop. I know, I need a life. :rolleyes1
