My mom is taking a well deserved one week holiday to Ft. Myers.
She can take a bus to St. Catharines from Peterborough and will be traveling with relatives from St. Catherines to Ft .myers (out of BUF).
The relatives will be staying in Ft. Myers for 3 weeks, mom will be coming back home after a week.
So my ?:
She will be flying from Ft. Myers back to BUF but needs to find a way home from BUF?

If she flies home on a Sat or Sun we can pick her up in BUF but it looks like she will be flying back mid week so we are unable to pick her up at BUF.

Any thoughts on how she can get from BUF to Peterborough mid week???

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

One thought is taking a limo from BUF airport to the bus station in St. Catharines or train station in either Niagara Falls or St. Catharines. I'd suggest Jewel of Niagara Limos. Cheapest around and very reliable.

Does your mother drive? If so, she might consider a one-way car rental between BUF and Peterborough....though it sounds like an airport limo/car/shuttle might be cheaper. (FWIW,Our one way, one day rental from Toronto to Buf is under $100Cdn, but is often more when coming back over the border -- ~$200Cdn).

She does drive but has never driven to BUF before. I don't think she would feel comfortable with driving that far.

I found a Greyhound bus fare from Buffalo bus terminal - Peterborough (greyhound for only $37 cdn, seniors fare) but I am concerned about her getting from BUF to the bus station and then having to wait around a bus station (that she is not famliar with) waiting for the bus.

Call Niagara Air Bus, they are operated out of Niagara Falls.
they will pick her up at Buffalo Airport and bring her to St. Catharines( or Niagara Falls) , to either the bus terminal or the train station.

I hope it works out for her,

Tell her to travel the weekend, it would be cheaper for everyone in the long run if you could pick her up....
good luck

Yes I second Niagara Air Bus as we've used them before and didn't have any problems with them. :thumbsup2

Here's their site: http://www.niagaraairbus.com/

Huh? What about that regulation that says Canadians can't drive a car rented in the US into Canada? Don't they enforce that anymore? I know people who are cruising in Alaska who weren't allowed to rent a car in Skagway to drive up the pass... they were told it was because of this regulation.

thanks sammi and mc'smommy:
I called them and the cost from BUF to the St. Catherines bus station is $66 cdn. Then she would have to take a bus back from there to Peterborough.

Does anyone know how far it is from BUF to the Buffalo bus station. I can get her home (greyhound) from the Buffalo bus station for only $36 cdn. I just don't know how to get her from BUF to the bus station (and costs) plus I don't know how safe this bus station would be for an older woman travelling on her own.

Any suggestions on the above mentioned??
Thanks

Try Jewel of Niagara. They were cheaper than Niagara Air Bus for our last trip. Smaller company and better service.
