I was at DLP for the 1st time at the weekend after DD won a trip in a colouring competition, the highlight being an invitation to Cinderella's Ball on the Saturday night after the park closed. I had never wanted to visit before and, dare I say it without being lynched, had been quite anti Disney, but hey, it was free! I got more and more excited as I read these boards beforehand (discovered them through the reference in Brit's Guide) - your enthusiasm is contagious - and now I have seen the light! I am a Disney convert! I had the most fantastic time, felt close to tears a lot of the time because it was all so wonderful (apart from the horrendous queues) and am going to start saving so that I can go again. In the meantime I thought I would finally register (I was a bit shy beforehand!), say hi, and hopefully be able to discuss DLP with people whose eyes won't glaze over

Hi knitting nancy and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2: As you know we are a friendly bunch on the board so please join in on any thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each one :goodvibes

Would love to hear all about the Cinderella Ball, where you stayed and what you thought was the most magical part of the holiday.

Don't worry about not being a Disney convert initially, I stomped reluctantly through my first visit to DLP

By the way what a wonderful prize to win, congratulations :cheer2:

It was my first trip to DLRP that converted me too - it started out as a present for the wife and ended up being my Disney epiphany!

Welcome to DIS

Hi knitting nancy - I was wondering if anyone had attended the Cinderella Ball, I'd found a competition online with that as the prize- but couldn't find any more info about it - Lucky you :thumbsup2
Please tell us all about it. princess:

The Ball was an amazing experience. My daughter, age 5, said she was worried that she would wake up and find it was all a dream!! The children also had workshops on the Saturday afternoon to prepare them for the event and they were brilliant too. Is it presumptuous to do a trip report when I've only just joined because there's so much that I could write about it? And if so do i just start it as a new thread?
Incidentally we travelled by Euorstar, stayed at Hotel New York and were provided with meal vouchers for all meals so it really was some prize.

Nancy just you start a new thread and scribble on down your trip report.

Everyone loves trippies. There seems to be a lot of interest in the ball so just fire away... no pressure of course :teeth: ;)

I'll link it into the index once you have finished it :)
