Its a very very white St Davids Day here in Cardiff, as it has snowed all through the night.

I can't claim to be Welsh (although I do have diluted Welsh ancestry), but I've lived in Wales for longer than I lived in England and have brought up two DDs who are very proudly Welsh :thumbsup2

My workplace is on the same site as the local primary school, so there will be a lot of Welsh costumes and red rugby shirts in evidence today!

Happy St David's Day from the USA. :sunny: My mother was born in the U.S. to 100% Welsh parents(emigrated from Swansea), so although I'm American, I'm 50% Welsh. I guess we'll have our Chicken Potato-Leek Stew tomorrow.

kids happy to have day snowed off school although my oldest DD was supposed to go to cardiff today to read a welsh poem as part of the opening ceremony of the welsh assembly building in front of the queen, she was a bit gutted (my DD not the queen!) but playing in the snow took her mind off it.

Sadly didn't happen as, once I'd got through the very light dusting of snow outside our front door ;), I discovered we were in an isolated snow-free pocket and everyone else round here was snowed in!

The local schools were closed so we haven't seen any Welsh costumes at all.

Slinky - sorry to hear your DD's 'big moment' was cancelled :( Hopefully, she'll get another chance to do something just as exciting another time :)

I have had a lovely snowy white St Davids Day too.
The school I teach in was having a half day today, so that we could have an Inset this afternoon. Luckily because we only had two children in we were able to have our Inset this morning and all the staff had the afternoon off! :thumbsup2
