we are going in August too at the Dolphin!! Got that great teacher rate!!!!!

btw I really do not think it will be HORRID that week as a lot of schools go back in mid August from what I hear it is an ok time to go!!! Yeah hot but so what...just an excuse to use the Grotto Pool!!! :sunny: and drink some fruity icy drinks by the pool!!! I went in Sept last year and it was hot but tolerable!! We were so darned HAPPY that week!!! Besides a lot of attractions are indoors after all...right? :cool2:

Cooooool...we are in Dolphin thanks to the nurses in our family. God bless all the nurses! There for you, caring for you, often when no one else is.

We went last year in August too :sunny: . We actually found the heat quite bearable. Needed the regular assortment of gear (Disney spray fans, etc.), and it took a bit more planning (outside rides early and late, inside riders middle of day, back to pool/room for relaxing 2-3...park hopping), but it was fine :cool2: . Also found the crowds to be manageable too, but am really encouraged by your thought on the return to school making them lighter. We are a week later this year versus last year, so that would be a real boost.

What we found to be most important was not keeping our physical cool, but keeping our mental cool. Everyone wears down a bit faster, tempers are shorter, stresses are a bit higher. Needs to be kept in perspective!

WOW...seems like the Dolphin is going to be pretty popular. We're going in August too but we'll be staying at the Swan. We'll be there from the Aug. 20 - 26. I'm more exicted than the kids.

You all coming in late August know of any special events going on that you'd like to share? I can't seem to see anything unusual planned...

I don't know of anything planned. We're going in August because it's in value and I got to take advantage of the government worker discount. We had thought about going in July since SO's vacation begins then but flipped a coin and got August...go figure.
