Just closed on DVC and plan to try all of the DVC resorts. We wanted to try BCV's pool-so they are first on the "other DVC resorts to try" list.

I have now given my crazy Disney excitement to my DH, my DD already had it. :rotfl:

We went to WDW for the first time last August and then went on a cruise in November so we stayed a couple of days in Disney. November was way too cold for us. We love August! :hyper: Yep, I know it's crazy.

The heat is brutal but I would take heat over cold any day. I can get wet on any ride and know that I will be dry in a few minutes.

sooooooooo, half of the northeast population is going in august :banana:

we LOVE the last week in aug ~ lower crowds, hot but not unbearably so (& a short rainshower every day to cool you off ~ GREAT for puddle-jumping!). we went in october once (woke up to 30degrees ~ brrrrrr), & it didn't even feel like florida :(

VMS ~ we're DEF doing the DP. we norm rent a car, but this time will use ME & put the car rental savings toward the DP (since it's just DH & self, it's not too pricey ~ we plan on eating at a few places we've never tried, mostly in WS)

BWV 8/19-8-25

It was 8/19- 8/27- which I might add, I planned perfectly since last year i visited from 8/28-9/04 and purchased annual passes and a disney dining card. As such, my passes and card are good through 8/27. BUT-- got a call from my wife yesterday and one of her friends is getting married on the 26th so we had to call and cut the trip short--I hope 6 days in disney is enough...it will be my shortest trip there ever!!

Hi, we are!!! We are driving from Maine and should arrive at the Poly on the 16th then transfer to VWL on the 20th, heading home on the 26th.
We expect it to be extremely hot and humid but figure by that time in August it will be pretty humid up here as well, so better for the kids to acclimate to temperature wise. We plan on buying plenty of fluids and just having an excellent time no matter the temperature. :flower:

Yep, it's going to be hot :lmao: We go in August all the time but the heat is not such a bad thing. I know you probably heard this before but, first of all the parks are a lot less crowded and they're open late. So when you get hot go back to the pool and hang out. last year we got an All inclusive ticket that included the water parks. We went to Blizzard Beach in the morning, then hit a park in the early evening. LOVED it. :love:

I hope these threads are a good representation of the population going in general. Our dates are the 3th-12th. Out of the posters listed here, 35 are going to be there after us and 10 will be there with us. There were 5-6 before us, but I would consider them in July, with a little hang over in August.
I am also hoping that the free dining pushes more people to choose dates after us. It isn't that I wouldn't love to meet posters from this board, but not if it means longer lines and more crowded restaurants!!!!!!!

We are going to be at US/IOA (RPRH) from 8/9-8/12, then at OKW from 8/12 to 8/19.

I wouldn't take this survey to be indicative of the "crowds" however, since DVCers get no real "perk" from the free dining Disney is offering. If you want a better indicator, go to the main board - for example, pplasky, you will be delighted to see this survey:

Looks like, from THIS poll, those of us going the week of 8/12-8/20 are in the thick of it! I have debated and debated, after Disney announced that whole free dining deal, on whether I should "swap" my trip order around (i.e. do Disney the week of Aug 5-12, then RPRH afterwards) But honestly, my dining ressies are all set, my hotel / OKW ressies set, I don't feel like spending 15 more points, yada yada, and in summary, I guess we're just gonna tough it out, crowds or no crowds!

I will say that if this thread and the other thread are any indicator, at least OKW won't be too full, LOL. Looks like a packed time at SAB and Luna park, though....
