View Full Version : London Meet May 13th at PH

02-25-2006, 12:55 PM
Hi

As some of you are now aware, we are meeting up on May 13th at PH in Leicester Sq for lunch, and then onto a pub, or some pubs after. :drinking1

So far we have:

Me and my DH
Angel659 and her DH
Claire & dh

This thread is for those who want to come to post photo's and info about themselves so we can all get to know each other a little better before the meet.

So, here is me and my DH (Simon) waiting for our plane to NY last April.
Simon looks a bit tired as we had an early start that day and he doesn't do mornings very well! :rotfl:

I am 28, DH is 24 so he is my toy boy.
We got married in August 2004.
We live in Wellingborough which is near Northampton.
We have been together 5 years this August.

We have a rabbit called Charlie.

I have been to DLP 3 times, and WDW 4 times.
Simon has been to DLP 2 times adn WDW 2 times.

I work in a Sales Office as a Senior Account Co-Ordinater, selling electrical components (boring!) to companies like Compaq, Motorola, Nokia etc. and Simon is currently working as a Shift Manager in a Leisure Centre but he is currently setting up his own Painting company.

We like the cinema, drinking at the pub, going to London, theatre etc.

We don't have any children yet, but want to start trying maybe towards the end of this year.

I love Robbie Williams, the Kaiser Chiefs, Madonna, Kylie, most indie style bands, Destinys Child/Beyonce and most chart music really.

I also love going to concerts and have been to over 100 since 1991.

Who's next?

Anyone not on the list above who wants to come to the meet, pls send a PM to Angel659 as she is getting the list together.

Hi Karen,

Thanks for starting the thread. How do I post my pic here. I cant remember for the life of me.

Thanks for your help arranging it with me. I really appreciate it.

You can add a photo to photobucket.com and then copy and paste the link into a thread.

No worries for helping - I love organising stuff.

Hi girls! Would it be alright if I directed you to my website in my signature instead? There is a personal FAQs page that can tell you all about me, as well as some photos of me and my family. Hope you like it :thumbsup2
Will look forward to meeting you all,

Claire xx

It was really hard trying to find some pics where I dont look so bad. I dont like the camera since putting weight on from the twins. I managed a couple. The first one was us after MNSCHP in our hotel room.

My name is Michelle and I am 27 my dh is 29. We live in Rainham, Kent. We have 3 children. Casey aged 6 and twin boys Callum and Ethan aged 2. We have been together for 12 years and married for 6 years in June.

I am an Auxhilary Nurse and I am starting my NVQ in Care. I would like to become qualified, but cant start my studying until I have completed Level 3 NVQ and when the boys are at school. I love my job its really awarding, but tiring. I work in Adult Medicine so I see alot of illnesses and its really interesting.

My dh is an Accounts Assistant. He was starting his training, but fell behind when we had Casey and he hasnt really had the motivation to continue with his studying.

I have been to WDW 5 times. The first in Aug 1992 we missed Hurricane Andrew by a day. So the flight going over Fl was bumpy. I went with my parents, uncle, aunt and cousin. We stayed in a Villa in Lakelands. I then went in 1996 with my dh who was then my bf we stayed in ASP and returned again in 1998. I took my dd in 2004 and we stayed in ASMo as my dh stayed at home and looked after boys. After going back in 2004 I realised what I missed and booked for Oct 2005. This time we all went. We had a great time and would like to go back in May 2007.

I like Green Day, Linkin Park, Madonna, Cold Play and U2. I have seen Madonna, Green Day and Robbie Williams.

I like going to the cinema, we love visiting London. When we can get sitters and are off work

Another personality trait I have I talk a lot :rotfl:

Thats me!

02-27-2006, 08:26 AM
Cool MNSCHP make up. :thumbsup2

02-27-2006, 04:05 PM
Thanks Karen, I have a feeling not many people are going to come. Or they have not replied to the thread.

02-28-2006, 02:55 AM
We have 9 so far if both your DH and my DH come too, plus if everyone on the list is still coming, so that's not too bad.

Any more takers for this meet??

Come on, it will be fun - lunch at Planet Hollywood in Leicester Sq and then off to some pubs after.

02-28-2006, 07:59 AM
Hi Karen,

Just had an pm from LindseyUK she wants to come, but she isnt sure her bf will be coming, so she said put her down for 1 so far. Could you add Lindsey to the list above. Cheers :teeth:

In April we will pm them again and get some numbers and confirmations so we can book PH. What do you think?

I am so excited

Anyone Else?

02-28-2006, 08:29 AM
Lindsey has been added :thumbsup2

03-01-2006, 08:36 AM
Bumpety Bump... :Pinkbounc

Anyone else?

03-01-2006, 08:38 AM
just a suggestion... could you all go to the Pixar exhibition at the science museum?

03-01-2006, 09:23 AM

Science museum after PH or instead. Sorry a little slow today I was on a night duty last night and I got up early to sleep tonight for tomorrows shift.

03-01-2006, 01:03 PM
What about after if we do go to the Science Museum.
Gives us chance to get to know each other.

Or what about meeting for a few drinks, then SM and then PH to finish up.

Depends really what everyone else wants to do.

We have enough time to decide though.

03-01-2006, 03:09 PM
I love the idea of PH and pubs. Isnt SM quite far from those? Whats there? I went there a couple of years ago

03-02-2006, 03:13 AM
Shall we stick to the original plan then...PH and then some pubs?
Sounds fine to me.

03-02-2006, 04:31 PM

I reacon so it would be much easier sticking to one area than hopping on undergrounds.

Cant wait

Anyone else?

03-03-2006, 06:02 AM
Introducing myself slightly late, but better late than never :)

I'm Suzy, 21, a music student in Southampton, but I spend all my non-studenty time in West London.

That's me in my signature, but here's me and two friends back in September:

I'm a complete Disney nut, I've been to WDW 4 times (including my first solo trip last September), DLP 5 and DL once.

Other than Disney, I'm obsessed with films, especially old films starring Fred Astaire, and I love any kind of music. I can also eat and drink for Britain, as I'm sure you will all notice at the meet :teeth:

Because I'm in my final year of my degree, my schedule's all over the place at the moment, but I should almost certainly be there, and I can't wait to meet you all!

03-03-2006, 08:35 AM
Thanks, and well done on going to WDW on a solo trip.

How was it?

03-03-2006, 09:27 AM
Hi, sorry for the delay in responding. I'm Jan and am 51 on the outside and about 22 on the inside. I've been married for 22 years and my DH is an accountant. I worked as a Secretary before having my two DD's (now 15 and 17). I've been to WDW twice and stayed offsite but would love to stay on site and DLP twice and on a day trip for my birthday.

I don't go to work but am Secretary to the Management Group of a local community nursery and am still on the PTFA of my DDs primary school. I looked after my sisters two children two days a week (11 and 6) until about 2 years ago, and now just take them to school 4 mornings and pick up and look after them just one afternoon now.

I love going on holiday and planning holidays. The rest of the family think I am a control freak - but someones got to do it. I like all sorts of music and am going to see the Kaiser Chiefs in April, and have spent hours and hours gatehanging with DDs these past 6 months and have seen all sorts of people.

03-03-2006, 07:33 PM

Thanks for replying Suzi and Jan. It would be lovely to meet you.

It will be so much fun!

03-04-2006, 09:39 AM
:thumbsup2 Bump!

03-07-2006, 07:23 AM
Hi Karen,

Just thought I would bump it up.

Any suggestions on when we should start arranging it? Gathering info from PH etc.. I am hopefully off to London on the 25th March we can go to Leicester Square and I will have a look at some pubs for us all to go to :teeth:

Anyone else it will be loads of fun

03-07-2006, 08:14 AM
There are plenty of pubs on Leicester Sq or around that area so don't worry if you aren't going to Leicester Sq at the end of this month, I am sure we will find somewhere to go.

I guess we could make the reservation by the end of March, early April time.

I don't think anyone else is coming, so maybe P.M. the people who have said yes, and ask them whether they would prefer one of the set menu's or full choice and we can take it from there.

I will PM them if you like, can do it later tonight.

Let me know.

03-07-2006, 08:17 AM
Hi Karen,

If you could that would be great as I am off work ill at the moment. I have tonsilitice and really bad heavy painful monthly going on here. I am about to go and lie down on the sofa. If you dont want to and I am being a pain in the back end then let me know :rotfl2:

03-07-2006, 08:19 AM
No, that's fine, I will do it tonight.
Hope you are ok.

03-08-2006, 08:56 AM

Bumping it up.

Anyone else

03-13-2006, 08:20 AM

I spoke to PH and apparently they can book a table for upto 9 without any deposits and we can even book the table online.

I am not sure what are the final numbers. I will pm them say in April?

03-13-2006, 08:34 AM
Just wanted to say thankyou to Michelle and karen for doing this for us, its a hard job sorting it out, but you're doing fine. be good if we didn't have to fiddle about with deposit but we'll see.

Just confirming that I'm still coming and its a party of 2 for me (and DH James)

Claire xx

03-14-2006, 11:30 AM
Hi Claire,

Thanks. I will put you down for 2.

I think it will be much easier if we didnt have to worry about deposits. If we manage to have more than 9, we could chance a table. Its lunch time and not evening. It just may mean we have to wait a little while. What do you think?

So far we have

Me & My dh
Karen & dh
Claire & dh

Anyone else? It will be great. :woohoo:

03-14-2006, 12:59 PM
I think if we just meet in the bar and just get a table once we are all there on the day rather than worrying about deposits etc. as there's always the chance some people won't be able to make it on the day.

Let's just say for now...

Anyone is welcome
Let us know if you fancy it if you aren't already on the list
We can PM people who want to come late April / early May to confirm times etc. but it will more than likely be - meet in the bar at 1:30pm and we will just wait for a table to be free

How does that sound?
Then, there's nothing more for us to do for now except bump this every now and then, and PM people the details nearer the time.

03-14-2006, 03:01 PM

Sounds great to me. 1:30 at P.H bar sounds great.

03-31-2006, 12:58 PM
Just Bumping, as we only have about 6 weeks to go until this meet.

04-05-2006, 08:21 AM
Hi there!

Just checking in to check its all still on, looking forward to meeting all of you,

Claire xx

04-05-2006, 03:53 PM

Yeah I am still up for it. I cant wait for it.

04-06-2006, 02:54 AM
Hi, I'm still coming. Looking on the PH website it said they don't take bookings on a Saturday so we needn't have worried about booking/deposits etc. Looking forward to meeting you all

04-06-2006, 05:00 AM
Hi Jan,

I am pleased your still coming. I didnt even notice that PH doesnt take bookings I hope it wont be too full.

Cant wait

04-18-2006, 02:10 PM
Oh, I am sooooooooooo sorry peeps, but I am not gonna be able to make it after all.

We have a family party that day and I really should be there.

And also, with the move coming up, we are really trying to save as much as we can to limit the months we have to live with my parents.

I feel so bad but I hope you all still go and have a fab time, and I am looking forward to a full report and lots of photos.

Sorry sorry sorry. :sad2:

04-19-2006, 04:55 AM
These things happen Tink, don't feel bad, I'm sure there will be another one before too long, :grouphug:
