Hi...Iam hoping to book a room at HRH For one night early september so I can get FOLP....There is me ...DH...DS14...DD6.
I tried to book on the hRH web site ...but....I had to put how many adults would be in the room...there was no space for how many children.
I do not know if they class DS14 as an adult??? :confused3
Also after I decided to put 3adults just in case....we went through to payment details and it said $240 for 3 guests????
Well there won't be 3 guests there will be 4...but no where would it allow me to put a child down??
So I think I would prefer to book over the phone...does anyone have a number??
Thanks! :thumbsup2

Be very careful, I have learnt from this! For our trip last August at the Portofino Bay Hotel I listed 2 adults (as there was nowhere to input the number of children). I chose a 2 Queen Bed room so assumed everything would be okay. When we arrived at check-in I was told we had been allocated a King Room as there were just two of us. I then explained that actually we had three children and having five in one bed might be a slight squeeze! After a lot of arguing they eventually found a two queen room for us. So, despite me specifically booking a 2-Queen they still gave us a king due to them assuming there was just 2 adults.
They really need to improve their online booking system. Please let me know how you get on over the telephone as this is probably how I will book in the future.

Hi when phoning, if you are a member of the AA, ask for their triple AAA rate. You get a fairly good discount that way. :thumbsup2

If you are flying with Virgin you can just phone up and add to your booking - at an inflated price! That's what i did last year, just added 2 nights in the middle of the holiday.

The year we stayed we had an annual pass and got a discount. However we could not get a discount for our friends. It only applied for AP holders actually staying.

Do they still do 'Entertainment Rates' for Universal Hotels? We booked RPR hotel in 2003 using this.
The way it works is as follows:
1. Buy 'Entertainment Book' http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1037118
2. Ring hotel booking line and ask for 'Entertainment Rates' for the dates that you are going - these tend to be much better value. We booked RPR at $110 a night when we went.
Also Universal are doing some kids stay free offers (as well as their kids tickets free offers) - see http://www.universalorlando.com
Finally we also joined Loews First - their loyalty program. http://www.loews-first.com/Loewsfirst.asp It's free and you get:
LoewsFirst Blue
LoewsFirst Blue membership is automatic. Your benefits begin as soon as you enroll. The exciting benefits of LoewsFirst Blue include the following on each qualified stay:-
Your favorite welcome amenity. Choices include: a bottle of red or white wine and nuts, fresh fruit and bottled water, cookies and milk, or a treat for your pet.
Wall Street Journal, USA Today or the local paper delivered to your door every morning you stay with us.
Free access to our fitness center.
Earn 500 American Express® Membership Rewards® Bonus Points or 500 American Airlines® AAdvantage® Miles or 500 Amtrak Guest Rewards® Points or 500 Midwest MilesSM per qualified^ stay.*
Enjoy a free room upgrade if one is available when you arrive.
Enjoy a late check-out of 3 hours beyond the regular check-out time, if available.
Just get your number from the website, quote it on your booking and request your free 'welcome amenity' - we had a huge bowl of fruit. When you get to the hotel ask if there are any free room upgrades - we moved from the cheapest room to one with a pool view. Also got the free daily newspaper (I think it was the Sentinel).

No more entertiament rates :( it was in the 2005 book, but only $50 off a three day package and that was equal to what they had o the site
if you are a member fo the AA ask for the AAA discount, that is quite good, but you cannot combine it with other offers. Can get HRH for $180 in Sept for that.

Just thought I would mention that the Loews First membership benefits are only available if you book via Loews at full rack rate. If you use a discount (eg AAA) then you the Loews First is invalid for that trip.

Pity - must have changed since we went. There is a whole thread about this here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=262594

Wasn't in the book at all the year we went - we just phoned and asked.

Really? Last year when we checked in, I got an upgrade and my free bottle of white wine (tho I had to call for that) and had paid a triple AAA rate. This year, when I booked for July again using AAA discount, I quoted my Loews number and she mentioned all the benefits again. :confused3

Sorry for the misinformation - indeed AAA does count as a "qualifying rate". I gather you do need to book through Loews, though...correct?

I booked direct with the hotel, using the number on the website, so not really sure?! :confused3
Thanks for checking tho Frances, I was thinking that something had changed! Good news that it hasn't. :thumbsup2

I have booked using AAA and still had all the benifits and the points etc. However, I think the ONLY discount code you can use and still get the Loews first benifits is AAA, not any others.
