Do area achools have off...it's a Wed in the middle of Feb and I can't imagine this many people taking their kids out of school for an extended Pres Day vacation....anyone know what the heck is going on? I've never seen it this crowded...I know, I'm spoiled ;)

I know the cheerleaders will be here this weekend. I'm not seeing cheerleaders in the parks right now. It's mostly families with younger children in tow right now...CRAPLOADS OF THEM...some school must be out here local.

Its also Race Week in Fontana, so I wouldnt be surprised if that was at least a few of the extra people. Come for the race and add on a few days at DLR.

2/24 is Friday...so they'll be here then. I've already seen cars with markings all over them..."bugging Disney guests or bust." Crap like that :) This week is gonna suck out here. Good thing I came out here, mainly, for the Pirates 5k which is a cast member event held after park hours.

On the east cost they are changing the 2 weeks at Easter to one at Presidents day and one at Easter..

It is crazy here also...

They won't change our district though. AS the teachers have it written into their contract that they get 2 full weeks at easter..

That means they get about 4 days at Christmas though..

CA also has cheerleaders Saturday. There are competitions at the Convention Center starting Friday and they are selling tickets to the cheerleaders for Disneyland. So many girls will be there Friday and Saturday nights. There's a competition at the Hyperion theater Saturday.

Hi Jakoky,
I am located near Calgary Alberta. My dd is in the Catholic school system and had this whole week off. A lot of her friends in Calgary had the week before off.

We went one weekend when the cheerleaders were there. On one of the nights, a group of them decided to practice outside of our hotel room balcony. We could hear them yelling even though we were on the seventh floor. My DD and DS were asleep (it was past 8PM) and I was afraid that they would wake up, resulting in cranky kids at the park the next day. I had to call the front desk and complain.

They stopped practicing soon after.

I never got the week off for President's Day, just the one day! Kids get so lucky. It was pretty bad on the 23rd. The minimal wait for rides was 25 which seemed to speed by, but it's hard when we're pressed for time.

I agree. My kids had Washington and Lincoln's birthdays both off (the 13th and the 20th) but by no means the entire week, also a public school system. And we are 45 minutes north of DL. The CSU system doesnt get Presidents week off either, didnt even get Presidents DAY off and they are part of the government!

I live in California and we only got Mondays off. So, I don't think ALL California schools had the entire week off. Our schools gave two 3 day weekends. We got Monday the 13th and the 20th off....

I don't think any S CA schools take the week off. Some take 2 3-day weekends while others take a 4-day weekend. But it does explaing why DL was so crowded if C and N CA districts did.

WE were there Thurs - Sat. I know that there were a lot of people from Tucson, Arizona there. WE saw several group of people from Tucson. There were suppose to be several people from our children's school at DL, but we only saw two groups. It was crazy Saturday.
