You're doing great!! I've had this one since 1999 and have been working on it sporadically since then ... it's still not done, LOL!!! I'm getting close though, and now you've inspired me to pick it back up. It will give me something to do while watching the Olympics tonight. ;)

The cross stitch kits are at the Art of Disney Stores. There is one at MGM, Epcot and Downtown Disney.

Tell me, what is the finished size of this and where can you buy it?

I finished that one about a year ago after working on it for a long, long time (probably a year and a half). I had a hard time with the navy fabric but did find putting a book light behind helped a lot. I've got Past, Present and Future waiting for me but right now am working on some Pooh stuff for a baby shower that's only a week away. At least two of those four should be done in time. Baby isn't due until May so they will be done before she gets here.

That's what I am doing as well back lighting it with a lamp on the floor works great with the darker cloths. I am also doing it on 18ct navy aida as I prefer that to the 14 count it came with. In fact I never use the fabric that comes in the kits. I have been working on this while watching the olympics as well. I work on it about 3-4 hours each evening. My dh couldn't stand it any longer so I taught him how to do cross stitch and he is now doing a very cool wizard. After I finish this one I am going to do the Tink Preening Pixie one.

Finished size depends on what size Aida you use, but suggested frame size is 16x20.
The kits can be bought at the Art of Disney store or World of Disney. :)

I wish I knew how to post photos.
I did that cross stitch on a dark blue sweater a few years ago. I took out Tinkerbell because I thought the porportions were too off, she was just way too large. I put in as few extra fireworks.
It came out fantastic. I wear it in the fall and winter when I go to WDW.
Someday I will get someone to show me how to post photos. I had to get someone to put my signature photos in because I couldn't even do that.
Definately a computer illiterate. Peggie

This is beautiful. I didn't realize there were cross-stitch kits at Art of Disney. Definately something I will look for on our next trip.
Has anyone ever ordered these from the mail order service at WDW?
Would anyone mind telling me how much these cost in the parks? I would love to order one and work on it now. :)
Thanks!

WOW! That is beautiful! I had no idea that there were designs like that out there. I guess I'd better up the budget for my next trip :-)
My almost 15-year old ds was bored this summer and picked up a cross-stitch kit that I had purchased to do for my dd. He decided that he would do it as her Christmas gift, and he did a great job!

I had someone bring me back The Happiest Celebration on Earth(The castle with the fireworks and Mickey and Friends out front of it) and Past,Present and Forever(done on a light green canvas of the Castle in the background with Mickey and Walt walking up the path)They were both priced at $45US.

Let me see if I can explain how to uplaod pictures. Sign up for a free account at www.photobucket.com. Then when you have an account there is a space up at the top where you can "add pictures". click on browse and it will take you to your pictures on your hard drive. just double click on the picture you want to upload. next hit submit. the picture you uploaded will now be in your "album" at the bottom of the page. Now, when you want to post a picture on a message board all you have to do is click on the white of the "img" and then copy. then just paste it into your post. highlite what you just added and then look at the top of the post and there will be a little yellow box with a mountian and what looks like a stamp. Its right under the font size box. click on it. And there you have it! I always preview my post to make sure that I did i right and have a picture. ;)

You are coming along great.
I am working on the happiest celebration on earth one. It has the golden castle and the characters.
For all those that want to know what they sell at Disney, look at this site. They run for $45 at World of Disney or the Art of Disney store.

I will be visiting Disneyworld in september and I was wondering if they sell pattern books for cross-stitch . I enjoy the kits ,but sometimes I like to decide how big I am making a project by buying my own cloth and thread.

I wish they did but I have never seen any. I buy the kit and then buy my own fabric, thread and needles as the quality of fabric and thread that they include with the kit just isn't up to par in my book. Plus I like working on 18ct just makes your stitches look so much nicer than 14ct.
If you are interested in trading for patterns just let me know I have a few of the Art of Disney ones and always looking for other Disney Charts especially the Cinderella ones that were sold at Michaels there were 8 in the series and I have been able to track down 5 of them.

Thank you! I am headed there in May and I will check it out and see what I can find. We dont have anything like that out here in Disneyland. I had heard that DW had xs kits but I never dreamed it would be true..WooHoo.... :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I havent seen these Cinderella charts you're talking about. Can you point me to a link to see them somewhere, if I run across any of them I'll be sure to let you know. Were they exclusive to Michaels? I know, I know, too many questions...sorry...

Hi
Here's a picture of a few in the series of the Cinderella cross stitch patterns I am looking for. I know Michaels sold them not sure about other places.
http://i19.ebayimg.com/01/i/06/d5/45/67_12.JPG
As for the Art of Disney Kits if you go to www.stoneycreek.com you can see the selection of disney ones.
I haven't run across any quarter stitches yet with the Cinderella Castle but have encountered them in other patterns I have done. What I do is come up at a hole rather than come up in the middle of the square then go down in the middle of the square makes them so much easier to do.

You're making excellent progress on it. I personally think yours looks better than the finished picture. Your colors are more vibrant and the finished one looks a little washed out to me. Its going to be gorgeous when finished and I can wait patiently for you to send it to me...lol
