We have Verizon for our Cell Phone. Should we expect any dead area throughout the parks... and resorts?

we could not call one another in Orlando. Even after doing *228 to update the data in our phones per Verizon.

My family just got all new cell phones with Verizon before we left for WDW. We had absolutely NO PROBLEMS at all using our cells in Disney. My boys were home in college and DH & I were in WDW and talked on everything from the AKL to the buses to the restaurants in the lines at the Parks etc etc. Cannot think of one place it did not work. Now we had NEXTEL prior to this and up home here in MASS the Nextel (South Central Mass) worked HORRIBLY. Love our new Verizons.

PS: Steam train came thru MK and I had to hold the phone up for my 23 y.o. college masters student could hear the whistle....ya we are all smitten by the mouse.... pixiedust:

I use verizon and was at WDW in October, had zero problems (except for INSIDE the Epcot ball.....can't remember the name of the ride now :rotfl: ), was able to use it MANY times to locate my DH or my parents while we were there. Have fun! (BTW dh uses Nextel and had severl instances where he could not get reception or his calls went directly to voicemail).

Thanks for the information, we will plan on being able to fully use our phones to call back and forth. I am assuming you meant digital service and not roaming.

Verizon Wireless' coverage in the World is great. I work for them and I know we've spent tons of money improving the coverage in the parks (look for hidden towers, like hidden Mickeys LOL) :)

You'll have no problem! :thumbsup2

We have verizon phone coverage and even travelling all the way from Hawaii we have great reception at WDW.

We do usually call Verizon to give them the "heads up" that we'll be in Orlando :sunny:

I agree...very nice to communicate with others in your group using cell phones. We were constantly text messaging on where to meet, eat, leave...etc!! No problems at all with Verizon.

We were there a few years ago and had AT&T phone service, (before AT&T went Cingular). We had no problems with them either. I am ASSUMING you won't have any problems.

We also used our verizon phones to communicate w/ our whole family..
One of the difficult things was you could never hear your phone ring.. So the girls in our group put our phone on vibrate and stuck them in our bra's.. Never missed a call! :scratchin

Read the latest Stephen King book on cell phones. It will give you some information about what's going on. In fact, the book is titled CELL.

Enjoy.

We have Verizon and have had no problems. The only place we have a problem is in the resort. We have to go outside to get a better signal, but other than that we have not had any problems.

Does anyone have information on T-Mobile (we have a family plan with them)?

My wife and her parents have Verizon Wireless and I have Cingular Wireless, and none of us had any problems communicating during our week in the World last May. No negative issues whatsoever.

Replying to the question about T-Mobile. My DH and I both have T-Mobile and we had no trouble using our phones in the resorts or parks. (We stayed at POFQ). He also uses the data network (Sidekick II) and had no trouble at all. :cool1:

a girlfriend and I went last October, I had trouble with my Verizon cell at the Orlando Airport, but once in the parks I had such good service it was like having a brand new phone! Downtown Disney gave me a little trouble, but it was also an older phone

We have verizon and for the most part we had good reception.
The only problems that I can remember was staying at POFQ and had to stand by the window or outside the door for better reception. (Our room was on the 3rd floor)
