I have lost my camera from last year went away for CHrismas and can't find! Actually I wonder if I didn't try to lose it.

I have purchased an Olympus last didn't like and several others tried to reaplce the Canon I had over 15 years ago greatest camera and my crazy minolta was another goody!

All got broken by a toddler! Even after I gave him a camera of my own!!!!

He is 10 now and its safe (I hope ) for a new one. I went to Walmar and hecked out the Sony H1 I was impressed but have no experience or knowledge!

I am sneaking in my camera out of my money so I cant' get too crazy and would love to hear you pros give some feedback!!

Thank you!

1. Don't buy your camera at Walmart
2. What is your budget?
3. How serious are you in photography?

I don't live too close to any malls and looked at camera while I was shopping. How serious, I love to take photos do I have any idea what I am doing?? NOPE!!!!

My budget well, I was hoping not go over $300.00 I know these days I don't get much to choose from. I loved the fact that it hade the stablizer for pics and boy I could stnad take pics of fireworks the whole time only problem is I never have a camera with enough zoom or speed!

So thats me in a nutshell!

The closest thing I can recommend is Canon S1 IS (not S2, which costs about $360).

It's "only" 3 MP (it's good enough at the highest setting to print at least 8"x12"0 but it has Image Stabilizer to reduce camera shake while you're taking the snapshot.
