Can anyone give me a guesstimate as to how much we'd have to budget for gas there and back?

My head hurts from trying to figure it out lol

So far I've figured its 2045 km from my city to Disney

oh cool .. thanks!
I'm going to bookmark that site.

So basically with the exchange rate I could drive to Disney and back for under $400 .. wow! That's a good back up plan if I can't find some great airfare deals.

thanks again :)

When we drove down in our Ford Escape last fall it was about $300 total trip and that was driving to the parks and around Kissimmee. Hope this helps. Kathy

one other question .. is it a gruelling drive? Is it doable with 3 kids?

We found leaving at 4 am the best the kids napped for awhile, then we stopped and had breakfast and stretched out our legs. I usually pack them some coloring pages, leap pad and we have a porable DVD player and severalDVD's. This past year I bought a couple of the Complete Mickey Complete Goofy movies and some they'd never seen before that I did not take out until we left. We got off the rode by 5:30 pm and stopped in Dalton Georgia which gave us approximately 8-9 hrs left of driving for the next day.

That site is pretty accurate....thanks for the link

I pulled out my trip journal for 2004 and compared it to what the web site said for my Sunfire and it calculated 72.66 gallons of gas for a return trip....we used 72.794 gallons....

You can also try the,

US Department of Energy: Fuel Economy

website.
(I can't post web addresses yet, but a google search should pull it up.)

If you use mapquest to determine the full driving distance, you can configure your annual driving to match the trip distance. You can also configure the highway vs. city driving figures and update the gas price to something reasonable. (I have found that if I read the fine print on most sites these days their gas prices are way too low.)

If you have multiple cars, or are looking at renting, you can compare models side-by-side once you have configured the annual mileage (for your trip).

Good luck & Enjoy your trip!

I just popped in here to say Hi  from Paris, Ontario. I didn't know that there was someone here so close to home. I don't know how much for gas money. But have a great time. We love driving down to Florida. Now that our 2 DDs are 14 and 17. I have the Dave ?????? I-75 book on my lap at all times. It helps me to find all the Walmarts and Targets ALL the way down and back.

It's Dave Hunter's Along I-75, it's our bible too. I also Mapquest from our house to the resort, so we have the directions. I see Dave has out a book entitled Along FLA's interstates. Might be beneficial to get sometime!
