I'm considering applying for the Disney Visa card from Chase bank.
Can anyone tell me what the benifits are? Has anyone used it and feel like they benifited from it? I only have a few months before we go to Disny, but I put EVERYTHING on my credit card.
Thanks! :goodvibes

My family puts just gas and groceries on ours and we're $70 towards spending money for our trip. I love knowing that the irritating weekly expenses are helping to cover my fun this summer.

Benefits: Disney Dollars, extra perks like free movie previews (We've seen Chicken Little most recently, before that, National Treasure).

Downside: Interest rate isn't great but that doesn't matter if you pay your bill off every month! :thumbsup2

Ok so that was my big question. We do get a percentage back in disney dollars on everyday purchases? And do you know how much it is? I can't seem to find anything that says 1% back or anything of that nature. Also, do you get more back for buying disney stuff? Like at the disney store? or in WDW?

Are there any discounts in the parks when you use that card? I know I wouldn't be able to get the rewards while at the parks, but if I get a discount, thats good enough for me!

Thanks! :thumbsup2

You get 1% cash back on purchases. Right now it's 0% interest for 6 months on Disney vacations or DVC purchases. Every once and awhile they offer triple reward dollars on purchases at Disneyshopping.com. They offer discounts on broadway shows, disney on ice, other different things throughout the year.

For the 50 years of magic celebration they offer a discount at World of Disney store in DTD (not sure if it's a % or $ amount, I threw out my brochure). They're also giving a FREE 5 x 7 picture with the characters at Innoventions West in EPCOT.

I have a related question. I don't know about benefits in the park, other than accruing Disney dollars... but I DO know if you put your cruise deposit on the Disney VISA you get a $50 on board credit.

My question, having JUST applied for the card about a week ago - I'm nervous about waiting for the card to come in the mail to book our trip... I know the prices change as you get closer to trip time. Is 6 to 8 weeks right now going to change pricing of a trip in late November??

We put all of our household expenses on the card including any home improvements, etc. Not a problem if you can pay it off monthly (as far as the interest rate goes). As long as I have to pay the bills I might as well get money back. It's great when I pay off the cruise, it's better than the $50 credit. You can't get the $50 off on the cruise and get rebooking discounts onboard so I'd rather pay with the Disney Visa and get the rebooking discounts. That way I basically get both :thumbsup2

There are ALOT of benefits. If you visit WDW alot, or expect to visit it alot, you can use the reward dollars (1%) for anything at WDW. We go yearly and we charge everything to the Visa during the year and accrue alot of reward dollars for our trips. If you are able to pay off the balance monthly and not deal with the interest rate, then you are in good shape. We use the reward dollars for all our meals at Disney World.
